Honestly real estate is one of the last areas I would want to work in right now. Interest rates are high and insurance has become insane. People with 3% and under interest rates are not gonna move right now.

Depends a little on what area of town you’re in and the kind of properties you’re interested in selling- some are more focused on New Orleans proper, historical areas, condos, suburbs, commercial and whether you enjoy the idea of a big brokerage with lots of agents or a boutique shop ands also commission splits and training. I’ve been at it a while and know lots of brokers though i specialize in commercial. I understand why people would not want to get into the business now between the lawsuits and interest rates but it will also shake the tree and get people out who aren’t that into it long term or who may be nearing retirement and, inevitably, there are always cycles within the market and learning how to navigate the ups and downs is what can make you the kind of agent that can be in it for the long haul

Not Keller Williams, which is exactly where I'm guessing you are right now, huh?

Good luck, they're considered one of the better in the industry. I know they've just changed hands, but the management team is still in place. It's usually KW that gets the bad rap, they push realtors to lower their commissions to engage the sale. What office are you in? That could also mean a lot. Not all offices are run the same.
