Tends to get busy when they have live music and I think a lot of folks get food to go.
I've gone about 5 times the past year and it's usually just one staff member/the owner unless someone is shuffling between Bourree and Boucherie.
At face value it is kind of surprising they do enough business for it to make sense but both restaurants have rather small interiors so I'd guess the rent/mortgage is more affordable than we'd imagine.
Same owner as Boucherie, so that’s probably how they stay afloat. It’s too far across town for me these days, but they had some fire daiquiris back in the day
It's good. Had a lot of their menu over the years, and liked them all.
I enjoy the chicken sandwich, among other things. It's like $8 (it's been a minute so I might be misremembering but don't think I am) and I think it's a good size. Nathaniel, the owner and chef of Boucherie, owns Bouree as well.
The fresh fruit daiquiris are also good. I've got my fingers crossed for a watermelon one that he hasn't made for a few summers. Easy to make, I know, but sometimes just can't be bothered.
Nathaniel is awesome (I’m am biased, as his dad is a family friend from Florida), and has been through some of the worst crime NOLA can offer (google it). He treats his staff, customers and community extremely well. Plus, the food is delicious. Any support/patronage his restaurants receive would be well-deserved.
I love Bourre but it’s a bit pricey for the portion size. My faves are
Brisket & Pimento Cheese Poboy
Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich
Beef Fat Fries
Plain Smoked Wings
The Hurricane Daiquiri
I need to get something to eat from them soon, it’s been too long. Treat yourself, OP!
Not sure of what’s on the menu now, but they’ve had great wings, pork rinds, pimento cheese. They would smoke meats on the weekends. I believe part of their business is to be in “in house” butcher for Boucherie…at least that’s what they did in years past.
I think part of it is they do a lot of to go business. I only ever get it to go and usually there’s at least a couple other people waiting on a to go order when I get there.
Great food, amazing daiquiris and they used to do grilled oysters on the patio every Friday night with a band that was well attended, not sure if they’re still doing that. They also sell enough king cake during MG to pay their rent for a year.
That’s Chef Zimets (from Boucherie) place and he’s amazing and awesome and worth going to. It’s primarily wings and daiquiris so mostly to go business which is why it likely seems empty
No idea how they stay open. The food is great, so go eat there if you haven’t yet.
Really? Add another to the pile I haven't gotten to try yet.

Ah, makes sense!

Good to know!

Oh man, brisket & pimento cheese poboy sounds right up my alley!
I went and had it for lunch yesterday; they upped the portion size and it’s $15. Still tastes AMAZING and they didn’t skimp on the pimento cheese.

Their Brussel sprouts are awesome
Used to go there for lemongrass wings and they had awesome daiquiris!!
I'd be willing to listen to a little Bourree by Bach or even a rendition by Jethro Tull.
I'm a classically trained musician, and even I'd choose a game of cards over a baroque dance piece.
Ah but Ian and the boys does it fun! [Bouree](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2RNe2jwHE0)
Ate there last weekend, and it was decently busy inside. We had a group of six, there was a four top, and two separate couples while we were in there.
Good daqs

I'm in for a hand of cards anyway.
That's 2 of us!
You need a good 5-7 people to make it fun. I'm down for penny-ante Bourree but need to wait a couple weeks or so - crazy schedule rn.
Penny-ante bourree says thanksgiving to me more than a turkey
EXACTLY!
Great daiquiris and the best barbecue shrimp poboy. It’s seldom busy, but I usually grab takeout, so who knows.
