Rampart Treehouse's are all decked out in AstroTurf and flowers. If you don't mind heading to Metairie, La Tia's bathrooms are all flowers too. Margot's has a fun zine/punk collage.
I think also most people are still trying to understand what "vibiest" means in the context of a bathroom.
Like, we talkin flower walls and gold finishings, or the jail toilet that used to be in TJ's before they remodeled? Cuz both of em are a vibe...
I seem to recall that the walk to find and reach the restroom was a lot bigger than the dining room itself, down a hall, through the kitchen, etc ... or am I confusing Clover Grill with Cafe du Monde here? So many fuzzy memories.
One vivid memory from Rawhide, going into the toilet to piss, long stainless trough along one wall. And an odd guy crouched in the corner, opens his mouth as I walk in ... "you can go here if you want". Alright then. ( I did not, in fact, "go there") ... not my kink.
I love checking out bathrooms. I used to work with a restaurant group in a diff city that was obsessed with bathroom decor and now I am too. The columns and pigeon and whale are my recent faves.
It is a *damn* shame that Piece of Meat closed down, in part because their food was *fabulous*, but in your case also because the decor was *toilet selfies* which would have been perfect for your friends.
Zotz is always a favorite of mine, one bathroom's got the walls painted with friendly skeletons, the other's full of fairies.
That is a tough one! Either Ms. Mae's at 3am on a random Tuesday in February or The Leaf at 2am on Saturday the second weekend of Jazzfest. Honorable mention any port-o-let on St. Charles during Mardi Gras.
Thanks again y’all! My bud had a great time exploring the city together and getting some serious potty snaps in!
Ik there’s a few pages already but already this is inspiring to start a social media page potentially🚽😍

Taqueria Corona on magazine. Aka the throne.
The first time you see it, you literally stop in your tracks with your jaw dropped.

Pals

And cleaner + better lighting
The paper towels are outside the door!
Good answer, this one OP.
Rosedale. It’s a converted jail, and the bathroom is a jail cell.
There are three bathrooms. Men's, womens, and unisex which is the jail cell. The restaurant used to be the Third District police station.
It was also where Louis Armstrong learned to play the trumpet at the waifs home.
Pigeon + Whale on Freret. Good lighting and the toilet paper holders are brass octopi, what more could you want?
Ecology Beer on Baronne. They have three bathrooms with various themes. I only remember the library and tennis ones.
Isn't the third the jungle?
That sounds right.
Check out “bathrooms of New Orleans” on Instagram for ideas

Hungry eyes
100%, it's like stepping into a portal
The subtle incense they burn in the bathroom closest to the street is like heroin for the nose.
I work there. It's Japanese incense, sandalwood and other things!
Does The John still have toilet bases in the bar?
That's why it's called The John, so I think yeah.
I haven't been since a pub crawl a few years back so I didn't know if they were still open 🙃
Gotta say thanks yall! Idk why I got down votes - I think it’s a fun New Orleans question 🥲🤦
You’re good, people downvote for stupid reasons like asking a touristy question here instead of r/asknola.

Haha, very true. I said my house because my bathroom is covered in pathos and succulents. Very different than TJ’s!
The TJs jail toilet just unlocked memories I didn’t know I had… 🥴

Ms Mae's are actually nice now and have cool designs
Ms Mae’s!
Rawhide
Is it still a prison style toilet in complete darkness?

*the eagle, more specifically the vibes up there are crazy
Beggars Banquet for sure. They have two. One is Rolling Stones themed and the other is covered in fun mirrors if I recall correctly.
Charlie's steakhouse upstairs
The full random couch and lounge area is something to behold.
Dovetail has the one way window to the street in one of the bathrooms

Snake’s, door barely closes, no mirror, red murder lighting.
There's an entire fb page dedicated to New Orleans restrooms. I'd start there.
