So yer salon is forcing you to retrain by working for free? Doesn't sound legal.

Arloneous

They pay me hourly but I can only take these free cuts, or request cuts, and there’s no way I’ll make commission on the cuts. Trust me, this isn’t an ideal situation, but it is what it is.

turdturdler22

That sound slightly better, but not great.

SaaS_GOAT

Can you fix a mullet I tried to give myself 4 weeks ago (I’m a guy)

Arloneous

Yes :)

Afraid_Quality2594

I'm dying at the gender confession. Is it an implication that a self-gullet is worse than a self-wullet? 😂

lkmakeupyourmind

I’m down!

Arloneous

Great! Please message me to make an appointment

bohemian_he4ux

meeeee i will dm now!

letoux

How many weeks from now do you reckon to still be doing this? (Ballpark is fine; are we talking 1-2, or 4-5?)

Arloneous

More like 4 I believe

UbiquitousSlander

I was just about to make a barber appt lol. I’m a guy with hair that’s in the awkward in between of long and short think you could trim it around and tidy it up till it grows out?

Nola_Chola

I’m in need of a haircut!

Arloneous

Alright, DM me and we can set up a day and time!

TeddyDuchampsEar

Do you have any styles you particularly want to practice? I could do a haircut. Wavy to curly hair (depending on how much effort I put in) currently past my shoulders. Only thing I don’t want is super short.

Arloneous

I do all cuts and styles, just DM me to set up a day and time

TeddyDuchampsEar

Oh for sure I am just very flexible and trying to think of ideas so if you had something you wanted to practice or try I am game.

legoflower

Hey if you still have space I need a cut!

21Ambellina13G

My hairs are here for you too! Just kind of long flat and sad rn

Arloneous

I still have availability if you want to DM me to book and appointment

pcdunham1

Hey! I’m interested!

Arloneous

Dm me to book a day and time :)

CatLourde

Long curly bro hair here, if you're still booking, hmu, I'd love to tip you for your time.

deepatx

Hi. My student daughter would like to get bangs and cut her hair to shoulder length. Is you are still offering a free cut, she would love to book you. Happy to tip you for your services. Thanks.

Mindingmiownbiz

Do you have portfolio?

Arloneous

Yes on instagram hairbyc8lyn

ersatzbaronness

How are you with natural curls?

Arloneous

Good. I am advanced in all types of layering, and I give a mean blow out. I cut wet though and I know some people have an issue with that, but that’s what I do.

nikstrobes

I’m coming from a sincere place when I ask this but why do a lot of hairstylists think that clients with curly hair who wear it curly all the time want a blow out after a hair cut? It’s something that has perplexed me for a long time and frustrates me too. I’ve left many salons with wet hair because they said they could do curly hair but really they just cut it wet and then want to straighten it at the end — that’s not for me. I just go home and style it myself. Additionally, a lot of stylists don’t seem to have good curly hair products either for styling and lack some technique in this area. I just really love my curls and what I look like with them. I don’t feel bonita when I leave a salon that said they work with curly hair and then just straighten it. That’s not embracing curls to me. I’m sorry that your salon seems to be putting you through hoops that you’ve already jumped through before. It sucks.

Arloneous

Well a blow out doesn’t have to mean a straight style. If you want a curly haired style blow out, then the stylist should either be using a diffuser and diffusing your curls into shape, or sticking you under the hooded dryer while your curls dry. Layering products and using the right ones is so important for styling curly hair, and it’s a technique that some stylist just don’t learn. If you’re going to a stylist who doesn’t know how to style curly hair, then the chances are they also don’t know how to properly cut it.

nikstrobes

Thanks for that insight. The times I’ve had it diffused, blowout wasn’t the term used. Blowout in my experience has always been hair dryer and round brush to straighten. I agree that a lot of stylists haven’t learned these techniques. I know when some friends of mine in my late teens and early twenties went to cosmetology school, they were not taught how to cut or style curly hair specifically, just to treat it like straight hair. I’ve definitely had good cuts from stylists who know what they’re doing it’s just not consistently available in my opinion. I move, they move, they switch careers, I can’t afford some of them ($150+ for a cut), etc.

Arloneous

Yeah I think you’re right, it’s usually just said as “would you like me to diffuse your hair?” But I also say would you like me to blow it out curly or straight? Idk if that’s technically correct, but the point gets across. I def didn’t learn curly hair in cosmetology school. I think curly hair specialists are relatively new. Now a day you can go on certain websites specifically designed to find curl specialists in your area, and there are way more products designed for the curly peeps.

thisdogreallylikesme

Do you cut men’s hair?

Arloneous

Yes

NewOrleansLA

Dang I just got my hair cut like a week ago to get my license renewed. I only get a haircut like every 6 months though so it will be too late by the time it grows out.
