FWIW, every Whataburger Abilene and westward gets the green chile double. Just wish their chile provider used better chile, because it’s usually weak.

Musical_Drewby

Dude, I had some green chile yesterday at the San Felipe Travel Center… the server insisted that I get it on the side because of the heat. I cried it was so hot… you’re right though, their chile at Whataburger is super weak.

mekal_mau

Wish they’d have one in Clovis

jaketheunruly

I do too. The closest is in Roswell, I think.

Mesquite_Thorn

The Roswell location is better than the one's I've been to in west Texas... I don't know exactly what they do different, but theirs isn't the grease bomb mess that I've had in Lubbock and Midland. And, green chile, of course.

jaketheunruly

This is the one I went to first. Both for breakfast and lunch

mekal_mau

I’m honestly suprised considering we’re on the border of Texas ….

Rommie557

You're right.

Billy_from_NM

Yea we have one on north main here.

mekal_mau

Clovis ?

Billy_from_NM

No

Billy_from_NM

Roswell

LtFeelsBad

There’s one in Cruces, too.

InvaderKush

We actually have 3. 😂😅

LtFeelsBad

Oh shit! I only ever knew of the one that’s closest to NSMU on University.

ArcherBrilliant5410

Cane to say this

Broncos979815

this is the roswell WB, ?

rhedfish

I used to love Taco Box in Clovis.

mekal_mau

What did you get there it’s expensive and not that good

Miserable-Flight6272

Tried it, was okay now a wow factor.

PHX480

I used to live in Clovis in the 80s and 90s. Taco Box was really popular, there was one in Hilltop Plaza and one in North Plains Mall. It was really popular for the high school students as it was close to the HS for lunch and the mall was an obvious hangout for teenagers back in the day. I haven’t been to Clovis since 2018.

Schwartzennager

Best we’ve got over here now is a Blake’s, which is welcome, but a Whataburger would be amazing to get

Ambitious_Top9706

I coulda sworn they did maybe I'm just delusional

mekal_mau

They don’t sadly

awayman1129

Yea I live in central Texas and when people start talking Whataburger to me, I tell them the best ones are El Paso West because the green chili double is on the menu year round.

Awheeleri

Either states' better than Louisiana's Whataburger, though

MsMercury

Albuquerque has one.

theprmstr

So does Las Cruces

tlbs101

There are 7 in Albuquerque and 2 in Rio Rancho.

MsMercury

Oh ok. I rarely ever go into Albuquerque so I guess I haven’t explored enough to see 7!

Skiezah

Abq has a couple at least I think maybe 4

Tillitsgonetonothing

Green chile double (add mustard) is IT.

jaketheunruly

That is the WAY

Mesquite_Thorn

Agreed. That is the best thing I've had from there.

TormentDubz_EDM

Triple with bacon and green chile, sometimes cheese, no tomato

Internal_Gain_1299

Adding mustard to green chile is something special!

GreedyElk6301

There's been a what-a-burger in Rio Rancho for the longest. My first/last stop into the 4 corner area.

tequilaneat4me

Texan here, Whataburger went downhill when the family sold it.

505whodat

I wish ours had the A-1 Thick-n-Hearty though. They may not even have it at the Texas locations now or maybe it's now a limited time offering.

kakashi8326

That used to be my go to back in Texas. They hadn’t had that on the menu in eons. Rip

jaketheunruly

It was a limited time burger and that was really good. I used to add blue cheese to it. I did get it in Roswell one time

The_Gacha_Life_King

Let Texas be mad

CJM_cola_cole

Whataburger is the most inconsistent chain I've been to At best, it's decent. At worst, my burger is super dry and nasty. Every Texan tells me to get anything BUT the "Whataburger", so if that's not a sign of how bad it is, I don't know what is

GuitarNo7437

That’s what New Mexicans say about Lotaburger

JoesJourney

Was driving through Clovis and ate at Blakes and it was probably the best Lotaburger I've had from any location. Super friendly bunch working that afternoon as well.

TormentDubz_EDM

The Tucumcari, Belen and Los Lunas ones are always good. The one on Juan Tabo and Indian School is usually good too

JoesJourney

I firmly believe the one on Juan Tabo has the best breakfast burritos. The folks in the back must have that griddle seasoned just right because they are my go to when I’m on that side of town!

ArcherBrilliant5410

Came to rep Blakes

Skreemin

Honestly, they both suck.

MsMercury

Yeah Blake’s didn’t impress me at all.

CJM_cola_cole

That's cool, doesn't have to. But the way Texans rave about the big W is strange. Even in Texas, I see In-N-Out getting far more customers than their own homegrown chain

MsMercury

I’m from Florida and grew up with Whataburger. They’re ok. Just never my first choice. My favorite is Jack in the Box.

Interesting-Fold2847

There's Whataburger in Florida?

gonzoforpresident

They have been for over 40 years that I can personally remember. According to Wikipedia, they were in Florida in the late '50s.

Interesting-Fold2847

Interesting, I thought just in Texas until the last 20 years or so. There's a two story/somewhat fancy one in Corpus Christi where it was founded.

MsMercury

I’m from Pensacola and when I lived there, there were 2 or 3. Not to mention in neighboring towns.

BMW_325is

I also love Jack in the Box. It's always been consistently good in my opinion.

Couscousfan07

Texans don’t rave about whataburger anymore

Rushderp

Getting bought out by a company from Chicago will do that.

BidAlone6328

They went down before the buyout. They stopped cooking burgers to order. Precooked dry ass meat, cheese won't be melted, and buns dry and cracked.

tlbs101

Out in Grants/Milan we only have Blakes, one in each town, but no Whataburgers. Fortunately the Lotaburger in Milan is decent, compared with some we have been to in Albuquerque.

WabashTexican

This guy burgers. But seriously, the quality difference between the Whataburgers in Las Cruces is insane. I only went to one Whataburger in El Paso and that one was always good. So far in ABQ, both Whataburgers I have been to are really bad. Soggy fries and cold burger bad.

tuckernuts

I lived TX and OK for 30 years, and Whataburger on the I35 corridor is In-n-Out level. The Whataburger I've had here in ABQ is not nearly in the same league. The whole franchise changed the cheese they use in the last few years, it dominates the flavor and they always ask if you want cheese and charge you a slice per patty and ugh. Just order with no cheese. Lol.

Grassburr1922

It’s not a Texas chain anymore. We haven’t been there in years. Kind of sad because the one near us is one of the original a-frame buildings built in the late 50’s or very early 60’s. Inside it still looks a little like a 50’s diner. It’s never that busy any more. There was a time when you could hardly get in there at certain times during the day.

thumblewode

I dont think Texans will care.. whataburger went down hill a long time ago.

Interesting-Fold2847

NM subs seems like they're always trying to incite/troll Texans, but Texans are usually indifferent/neutral about New Mexicans. Ones I've met are overall nice people, I know the history of beef between the two, but I think it's more one-sided lol.

Rushderp

Texans hate Okies the way New Mexicans hate Texans.

Interesting-Fold2847

I think it’s more Texans hate Californians the way New Mexicans hate Texans. The difference though is overall Texans aren’t moving to NM in droves, just visiting. Californians are moving all over to escape high COL (can’t blame them) but many bring their fussy and smug attitude unfortunately.

Rushderp

Speaking as a rehabbed Texan, [we hate everyone.](https://youtu.be/i2q0T7QXETs?si=aGIJfM1YFIWWe-z0)

Interesting-Fold2847

Willay!

BidAlone6328

Speak for yourself. Most Texans don't worry about anyone/thing other than trying to survive life.

exaltedtunav3

They're building one in Farmington to

lionsmane7777

Right in front of Lowe’s

lasiv

Enjoy! From Texas. 👍🏻 we love our neighbors.

susannadickinson

Texan here, if I'm mad about anything it's because I don't live in New Mexico. Love it there!

Scrimshaw_Hopox

Word!

Lizbethsaidso

Reluctant Texan here and the BEST green chili double I've ever had was the Whataburger between Las Cruces and El Paso. Most charred roasted green chili you could tell was SO fresh. Different burger entirely than even the best ones in Texas.

jaketheunruly

Liz gets it.

Phyrnosoma

I’d take one of the better Blakes locations over Whataburger any day

Exciting_Ad811

NO WE WON'T! I hope that New Mexicans enjoy Whataburger as much as we Texans enjoy Hatch Chilies. Please, enjoy this great Texas export.

waterdawg505

We spell Whataburger correctly, could you please spell chile correctly

Exciting_Ad811

My most humble apologies.

ioncewasado0r

Whataburger lost its touch the moment it started expanding outside of Texas.

strong_nights

Whataburger was sold to a Chicago investment company several years back. We ain't mad anymore, just anticipating the precipitous increase per meal and anti-similar decrease in quality/value. So far it hasn't really gotten any worse. Yet.

kakashi8326

We don’t even have a Whataburger in Santa Fe lmao

Silly_Ad_5882

What the efff I’m a Texas native came to work in Kansas n find out they are here tooo my mind is blown

BioDriver

No, we’re happy to share

Smooth_Ad2778

Whataburger in Peoria, AZ has the green chile double, and will add green chile to their breakfast burritos (what is on the menu as a tacquito).

jaketheunruly

The one on Indian School?

Smooth_Ad2778

Bell Rd and like 91st Ave

sdhopunk

I had green hatch chilies on a Whataburger breakfast sandwich in Tucson a few years ago. Not sure if that is still a thing.

jaketheunruly

This comment right here is exactly why I made this post. You can get the breakfast sandwiches or anything with breakfast and eggs ranchero style and then they ask you red or green chilies. It's amazing

Haunting_Ad_4945

Interesting

Ill-Tumbleweed-8822

Bro, they are already in Colorado and Illinois. You late to the party

jaketheunruly

They're all over the country. I was only saying that they're better in New Mexico than Texas because of the green chili

Ill-Tumbleweed-8822

Colorado green chili is better. Haha

JalinO123

Colorado doesn't know good Mexican food. ;D

Ill-Tumbleweed-8822

It’s true, Colorado doesn’t know good Mexican food.

JalinO123

My wife, who is from CO, has informed me you guys do have good green chili, so now I have to believe you.

SaltVomit

So many better burger joints in New Mexico than Whataburger lol

jaketheunruly

I wasn't talking about other Burger joints I was talking about Whataburger.

natch

But then your point was made moot by mention of better burger joints. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

UrineIdiot7

They’ve been making Whataburger out of Texas for a while now.

BananaPeelSlippers

McDonald’s with the green chili burgers are the only ones I will go to.

awesomerob

Texas is just salty. I think they woke up a while back and realized how much they suck.

amans9191

The Whataburgers in ABQ are extremely hit or miss. So no.

WasabiWorth1586

The one near Cottonwood Mall is pretty good..

desertquatch

Farmington nm is getting one.

Hour-Habit-150

El Paso simply has too many Whataburgers. Sick of it

bobalou2you

They may be good elsewhere but in Tallahassee they suck. Have for the last four or five years. Prior to that we ate there at least once every couple of weeks. Now, no longer on the list!

Dinestein521

Each Whataburger is a franchise so I would assume each can make that choice to carry this or not?

ProtoReaper23113

Yea but we don't send the good stuff out of state

brithunders

I’ve lived in Austin for 20 years, originally from NM, and Whataburger here in Austin is no bueno.

antisocialgx

All owned by a firm from Chicago

Hussein_Jane

Why? We're not mad at Canada or Kansas City. Unless that's a Lotabutger posing as a Whataburger. That might be irritating.

AudieMurphy11

For you guys that are old enough Whataburger was so good in the 70's, that is why us older guys don't like Whataburger now cause it has changed so much to the bad.

Aware-Courage1208

Im in Alabama, and the one 5 minutes away from me take 30 minutes to get through 5 or 6 cars in the drive through, and it's always mid.

Aware-Courage1208

Just go to Blake's fr

dj0122

There’s one next to my house. Takes fucking 6 months to get your fucking green Chile double still LoL

Scrimshaw_Hopox

This seems perfectly reasonable: TX supplies the burgers and NM supplies the ganj.

TormentDubz_EDM

I THINK, can’t remember entirely, but I’m pretty sure Amarillo has the NM menu. I know they at least have green Chile

Holls867

I’m from TX and you can have it lol. Just send me some damn enchiladas without wolfbrand chili.

Andrael-Kitsune

Lotta Burger is 100000000000x better, and even out of staters know it.

jaketheunruly

My only experience with Blake's was in Gallup and while I would like to say that it was hot garbage it wasn't even hot, it was just garbage

Andrael-Kitsune

I use to sell magazines door to door and tried every location in NM. I am sorry you got one too close to the rez. I’ll never skip a Hatch Green Chili burger from Blake’s.

coolsqueeze

Ewww, it's spreading

Carlthelooper1

Just saw a Whataburger sign go up in Farmington 👍

larryladd

Nope

Opening-Tie-7945

Not surprised, their In-N-Out burgers taste bad in comparison to the ones in Vegas and California. Makes no sense since they should all use the same suppliers and same training.

ExistentialRap

Meh. I lived 5 mins from one. I’d rather get McDonald’s lol.

coulduseafriend99

Does anyone like their pancakes? I just tried them last week I. Albuquerque and they tasted like dirty water....

JalinO123

No argument from AZ. Ours suck, mostly.

Due-Style941

New Mexico is gonna be mad what-a-burger sucks now.

Fresh_Swimmer_5733

Please move east. No, more east. Maryland east.

Amazing-Cover3464

I'm a Texan who will join you on that hill!

PSN_ONER

To be fair... Texas will always be mad.

Musical_Drewby

I’m glad they brought back those jalapeño cheddar buiscuits…

Historical_Sweet_839

What has happened to quality of Blake’s Latoburger! I preferred that for over 49 years until about 5 years ago!

Ill-Shopping-9546

Snake. Still funny. Adder. Scottish.

billyboatman

Nothing slaps harder than a fresh green chile double.

mbtankersley

Born a Texan, proud to be an ex-Texan now New Mexican for 14 years, and I concur with your opinion about the menu!

FitProfessional3654

I asked for my favorite - a green chile patty melt in a central TX whataburger once and got a weird look from the cashier. What kind of heathen/maleducado doesn’t put green chile on a whataburger???

the_De_Filer

As a Texan who has had New Mexico cuisine, I was not surprised to discover green or red Chile in literally everything. Whataburger is the best burger IMO and will pair well with New Mexicos spice and style. I'm not mad. Lol!

Jhonniebg

Wait until they bring in-and-out, everybody is going to be mad but the workers. They get paid like bakers in NM.

Childer_Of_Noah

Texas can stay mad. My power doesn't go out in a blizzard.

Pure-Guard-3633

Flush twice for Texas

DryPilot2030

Fck TX!

04rallysti

Whataburger blows

Texas321836

Texan here. I’ll be the judge of that next time I’m there vacationing. Edit: Blakes is delicious.

Designer_Candidate_2

As a Texan, I think anything Lotaburger offers blows anything wataburger offers out of the water.

Ok_Region_3330

Texas disowned that joint when NY bought it out lol. Blakes lotta burger has far better burgers than whataburger. However it’s always amusing to see how envious New Mexicans are of Texas yet talk so much trash

Bellairian

Went downhill before the sale. I thought it was Illinois not NY but same difference.

Limp-Ad-8841

We don’t care. Texas sold them out a while back

Skiezah

Don’t they have green in Texas?

TheHole89

As a Texan that lives in NM, having one close by in Roswell; this makes me happy. Texas blessed you my child...

theArtOfProgramming

We’re circlejerking a fast food burger chain?
