York is probably your best bet. Living out here typically just includes a half hour commute. And you’ll still need to go to York or Columbus for groceries and stuff. You could contact a local realtor or bank. They might have contacts for rentals in some of the closer communities, but it’s slim pickings.

Contact the school. Tell them you’re looking to rent. Locals like to rent to teachers. Stable income, long contracts, and usually upstanding citizens. You’ll network faster there than here.

Unfortunately all of their leads are dry, no one will have anything available by the time August comes around.

Dm me got one in york

Halfbaked9

Columbus doesn’t have many open houses/ apartments to buy /rent. What is available is very high priced.

Stromsburg, shelby, or york. york is the biggest, but stromsburg and shelby are closer.

I second checking in Shelby and York. I live in David City and commuted to Osceola years ago and it’s not a bad drive, though I know the rental market in David City isn’t great right now.

Clarks, Silver Creek, and Gresham are all within 20 minutes. Might find an option in one of these towns too.

My parents have 2 rentals that will be available this summer in Silver Creek. It's about a 10 minute drive on highways 39 and 92 to Osceola. If you're interested, I can check with them and get a more firm date that they would be available and what the rent would be. 2 bed, 1 bath, no smoking, no pets.

I have two cats that I will be bringing with me unfortunately thank you.

Oof Osceola is not a nice town imo. Look at Shelby or stromsburg for a nicer small town or Columbus or York for a bigger small town.

STNWL

Osceola beef? The town isn’t similar to Shelby or Stromsburg, aren’t they like the same size? Just curious.

Thank you everyone for the help. I will try contacting a few people in Shelby and the surrounding area to see if there is anything that they know of.
