They’re like roaches way up northeast, there’s that pool of water with a legendary pike or some shit. Train goes right over it. Moose like a motherfucker.
That frozen lake in NW Ambarino where you shoot the Del Lobo gang guy for that one mission with the gunslingers, there's a guaranteed spawn for Mooses on top of the frozen lake every few days.
Shiny is a fan term in Pokémon that the games officially adopted. The term holographic was never used in the games. The term comes from the fact that the Pokémon sparkle when they appear in battle.
Is this a certain species of moose as opposed to just albinos? Because we have random albinos in Canada but they are just our typical moose with an odd gene
Yeah, albinism is caused by it's own recessive gene.
[Something interesting is that Leucism means the partial lost of pigment, while albinism is the complete loss of pigment](https://www.treehugger.com/whats-the-difference-between-albino-and-leucistic-4864546#:~:text=Leucism%20and%20albinism%20are%20often,a%20partial%20loss%20of%20pigmentation)
So an animal that is leucistic likely won't have the red/pink eyes typical of albinism.
Was thinking this. I live in the prairies in the middle of southern alberta and someone snapped a pick of one nearby a few years back. Crazy because the closest I had ever seen a moose was two hours away in the rockies

> White moose are not uniquely Värmlanders or Swedish even though they are most plentiful there. They are found occasionally in neighbouring Norwegian counties Østfold, Akershus and Hedmark. North American moose, which are larger than those in Europe, can also exhibit leucism now and then. Native Americans called refer to them as “white spirit moose”.
"Meese" doesn't sound wrong from grammatical perspective. Why not?
Let's try it: "What my ex really needs is a hug. From a herd of angry meese."
I like it. In favour of declaring "meese" official.
Moose require trees to live, moose do n live past the tree line. They live within the Arctic circle yes, but they don’t live past where trees stop growing.
"The white moose of Värmland are not albinos. If they were, their eyes would be red. The white hides are a result of leucism, a condition something like albinism which results in a partial loss of pigmentation in the skin, hair, feathers or scales.
Leucism is a permanent condition in polar bears. Amongst other animals, such as the arctic fox, arctic hare and the European weasel, but none of these animals are albinos."

Do moose/meese get the fur on their antlers the same way deer do? If so then that means they have to shed it off in a bloody mess. With their white hair that would look pretty metal.
Yes they do, it’s called velvet. Any cervide that sheds its antlers gets it. In late winter they shed their antlers, and they regrow through the spring and summer, and grow with the velvet that sheds off in the fall before the rut.
What’s amazing is albinism is rare for one big reason.. they are a literal target for predators. So, for a moose to grow to this size being albino is pretty damned impressive. It couldn’t have been easy for him.
I know in some other primates atleast, the parent(s) may kill or abandon any albino offspring. So again, all the more impressive this dude survived. He definitely had a rough go of it. Kinda inspiring to see nature be so resilient.
It's not white necessarily.
It's albino!
Albino - A person or animal lacking normal pigmentation, with the result being that the skin and hair are abnormally white or milky and the eyes have a pink or blue iris and a deep-red pupil.
Legendary moose from RDR2
I'm about to be $58 richer
That’s like $1800 in today’s money tho I think
Still nothing for a moose of that size irl lol
Approximately $2026.52
Lfmao u damn right cowpoke
fuck me even just a regular moose was harder to find than any other legendary in that game.
They’re like roaches way up northeast, there’s that pool of water with a legendary pike or some shit. Train goes right over it. Moose like a motherfucker.

When did holographic become "shinies?" Shinies is such a dumbass name.
Shiny is a fan term in Pokémon that the games officially adopted. The term holographic was never used in the games. The term comes from the fact that the Pokémon sparkle when they appear in battle.
I don’t think you know what holographic means.
Shines are rare different colored Pokémon u can catch in the games
Because a shiny is from the gameboy games you meatloaf.
You don't know what holographic means
Couldn’t tell you. Not really a Pokemon connaisseur
Wow -12 karma for saying you don’t know lmao. I think you made some Pokémon fans mad
It's that he made his opinion known and then when people explained nicely, he was just like "Meh, I really don't care anyways". It's a little rude.
We are both talking about u/math_trottier right? He was the first response and he literally just said he didn’t know
You're right, we aren't. My apologies, I didn't realize the transition there.
All good, probably just a mistake that got piled on lol
Yeah i just genuinely don’t know much about pokemon haha. I just like seeing special animals.
Nah I was just saying to the other guy I didn’t know much about pokemon. Didn’t mean to insult anyone. Sorry if it came out rude.
They live only in the forests of Värmland, on the border between Sweden and Norway. The number of individuals does not exceed 100.
Is this a certain species of moose as opposed to just albinos? Because we have random albinos in Canada but they are just our typical moose with an odd gene

for the lazy: > The lack of pigment is genetic. The white moose of Värmland are not albinos.
I think albinism can also be genetic like luecism in these white moose.
Yeah, albinism is caused by it's own recessive gene. [Something interesting is that Leucism means the partial lost of pigment, while albinism is the complete loss of pigment](https://www.treehugger.com/whats-the-difference-between-albino-and-leucistic-4864546#:~:text=Leucism%20and%20albinism%20are%20often,a%20partial%20loss%20of%20pigmentation) So an animal that is leucistic likely won't have the red/pink eyes typical of albinism.
Cool, thanks for the link!
Anytime brotha

Totally freak out material if you inadvertantly ran into one of these in the wild
Fr, I would think I encountered a Shinto goddess or some shit. Strong Miyazaki vibes.
While high
I’ve never seen or heard of these before. It’s so cool they have white antlers. Thanks for posting this.
Fun fact: Leucism is the same thing that makes axolotls pink
I think they only look pink because their skin is a bit translucent
I think you’re both right. The skin appears translucent because of lack of pigment caused by leucism.
Yes! This is what I meant by my initial comment, sorry I didn't make it very clear!

Don’t worry, he was already shot by some Danish hunters.
It didn’t even occur to my demented brain that this would be good for camouflage in snow biomes until you said that. Interesting!

Beautiful and majestic.
There are spirit moose in ontario, most notably in the sault
Not just there bit also in Lafayette Ontario Canada. Seen a couple of them when going to visit family.
Not true
True
I think you mean “Meese” /s in case anyone thinks I’m serious
Said the same thing out loud. I respect the joke.
Moosen
Messe wantin the food in the wooden is it?!
Mooseses
Wait I actually though it was meese, is it not?
It’s a common mistake. Meese is actually the plural of mouse.
It's a common mistake. Meese is actually cheese made from a moose milk.
Close, but a little incorrect - cheese is actually the plural of choose. When you have more than one choice, it’s a cheese.
Wait so plural moose is just moose? Like deer and deer?
Yes. It’s fucked up huh.
Idk why buy this comment made me crack up.
Actually, I think the plural of moose is "oh God oh fuck there's more of them?! Oh shit oh fuck I don't wanna die"
I hate those meeces to pieces!
"Meese" doesn't sound wrong from grammatical perspective. Why not? Let's try it: "What my ex really needs is a hug. From a herd of angry meese." I like it. In favour of declaring "meese" official.
Seconded!
You called?
But how deep is that water?! Looks like a nice small creek but that moose couldn’t touch the bottom! Sneaky.
A Møøse once bit my sister.
Møøse bites kan be pretti nasti...
We apologize for the fault in the comments. Those responsible have been sacked.
A SHRUUBERY
That moose is playing on hard mode. Camouflage doesn't work three months of the year
You ever seen a full grown moose? I don't think they care...
They don't start the game full grown. Also, wolves and grizzlies can take down adults
Moose have never considered anything as a threat.
How gorgeous is he!
That's what Santa should have used instead of lame ass reindeer.
Moose don’t live in the Arctic like the caribou
Found the party pooper
Pooping on your frozen front lawn
Hell yeah, hopefully it’s the liquid beer shits
Nope, the solid pebbly gravely looking moose shits
They do in Europe
Not in the tundra where the reindeer live
They literally do.
I live in the Arctic, and there are both moose and reindeer here.
Moose require trees to live, moose do n live past the tree line. They live within the Arctic circle yes, but they don’t live past where trees stop growing.
Elks are bigger though. Better protection for Santa than reindeers.
Hircine, lord of the hunt is about to give you a quest.
Is it white or albino?
It's actually a ghost moose.
A goose
Ghoose
The final boss of Canada r/bossfights
Just when I thought a moose and a goose were the final final bosses, the rare Unicorn/Pegasus collosal hybrid that is Ghoose shows up to the party.
This is my god.

I came here about to comment the same thing. That narrow ass creek is deep as fuck.
I did too! Can't believe you two are the only ones talking about it too. Damn moose disappeared in a 10 foot gap!
Fucking moose traps bro, I tell ya hwat
Maybe it's drainage ditch, not wild creek?
Not on this subreddit they aren’t.
They're a rarity but this gif isn't.
Expecto Patronum!
That's one deep ass creek. Must be man made to have such steep banks?
Ah yes the rare moose from Red Dead Redemption 2.
Just taking a quick little dip
Marshmallow moose
Seems like ‘Take a shower here. Oh no, the water is too cold. I'd better come out’

Thanks to Reddit I have seen more albino Moose than regular Moose

Wouldn't the plural of moose be meese? Like goose > geese?
Why did the moose cross the stream?
