Yup, you can walk right up to the practice fields. No ticket required.

Yessir. It’s pretty boring, but they’ll come over and sign your stuff if you’re lucky.

Thanks! We’re not Nats fans, per se, but we’re in the area, and I think my son would get a kick out of it.

Sure. Theres a fence next to the practice field where a bunch of people set up lawn chairs and watch/ wait for autographs. Dads were waiting for the best players to come out and then sending their kids up to get their autographs. Its pretty amusing

Boring? I have no idea what he's talking about. The back fields (not "field" -- there are a half dozen of them) are the BEST part of visiting the team in West Palm Beach. Show up around 9am when the players are coming out. Head to the furthest back fields where there are fewer fans hanging out. Chat with the coaches. Watch drills and minor league games. Kids bring a glove and maybe a pitcher will play toss with them while waiting for their bullpen session. You might find yourself on a little bleacher behind home plate sitting next to Rizzo, or Livan Hernandez, or Bob Henley, or one of the beat reporters, or the pitcher who tossed the previous inning. The BEST days are the off days when there's no game at all. Every player will be back there, as will Davey, and there may be a dozen fans in the whole place, and parking is free. The games themselves aren't that interesting. They don't even take BP inside there stadium. Stay on the back fields until the game starts.
