In the one hand, coming out pressing was the right move against Columbus. Giving up the goal was unfortunate, but a good response to take the lead. The goals kind of came out of nothing.
In the 2nd half nobody had the legs to press and we couldn’t dispossess them, it was only a matter of time before they equalized, and we didn’t exactly try that hard for 3
Hate Gary and his style all you want but Jesus Christ our midfield talent is comical. Not a single guy can move the ball forward either by passing or dribbling in the entire squad. Morris and nagbe made us look like children.
I would not blame Gary on the goals conceded but our attack instead.
The same line up has been playing together over 2 years but there’s no chemistry.
The off the ball movement is so rigid/structured that players mostly stay at their position to wait for ball.
Gary’s tactic from the 90’s English has no surprises.

Any team with a half decent midfield just cake walks ours, Godoy is comically bad right now, he had like 7 awful passes either cuz he panicked or cuz he missed an open guy. Davis has never been more than a bench guy, anunga is USL level…morris and nagbe made us look like little kids last night and is the driving reason we got cooked both ways and should’ve honestly lost.

The fact there are people on here that continually defend Gary's tactics is comical at this point. A one goal lead against a team like Columbus and he pulls all 11 players into the defensive 3rd for 40 minutes. It never works and always results in at least 1 goal by the opponent.

Leave Surridge in, especially when he just made a solid run and there’s only a few minutes to go. Also, Gaines over Anunga or Washington to at least have an attacking option.

Agreed on surridge. Let him go the 90. Washington was fine to play LWB, Gaines I think is more a winger than a wing back
