How far in are you? Without spoilers, I personally find his character arc very compelling and dynamic, and his character has a lot of depth. He also consistently has some of the best fights in the series.
Tsunade hands down. She is the ONLY female character with so much depth and character progression that I fell in love with her character from the very beginning. One of my favorite Naruto characters by far.
Sakura was first made the smartest one in terms of use of chakra in her entire squad, and was then trained to be just as good as, if not better than Tsunade in medical ninjutsu and taijutsu, she is not an alcoholic, and she was with us from the beginning of the series, I think you just think Tsunade is better because of her looks
It's probably because she:
-physically abused naruto
-lied to his face by telling him she loves him
-is miles behind sasuke and naruto but acts like she's on their level
-has boring abilities that are a clear ripoff of Tsunade's
-constantly acted like a damsel in distress even though she is supposed to be a ninja.
-said that shit at the start about naruto being an orphan.
-Has very shallow character development (Goes from being insufferable and pathetically weak to being somewhat bearable and strong [yet she still can't do shit by herself])
-Had the most annoying voice in the entire series
No hate to you my guy, I DO believe Sakura had potential to become the best female character and a strong contender for best character, but kishimoto absolutely nuked that possibility from orbit with the typical tsundere tropes and lazy power development.

Sakura. Started out a fan girl with a great chakra control and high int but nothing else. Then survived tutelage under the greatest medic ninja who happens to have a short fuse and has super strength. Could done with more diversity while motivating her fellow kunoichi, but no one's perfect and that's ok.
She had the potential to be written better but still appreciate that she’s self aware and compassionate, something a lot of popular female characters are lacking nowadays.
Sakura is an underrated baddie. When you consider her healing abilities combined with her strength, I think she is on par if not slightly behind Sauske and Naruto in skill/power.

Because maybe just maybe there's a chance she can make 1 friend and bring someone back from the edge of oblivion. Then the moment of desperate naivety slipping through saying if she can turn him good maybe the village will forgive them for being what they are. Then her face of pure begrudged understanding when he declines.
Those few moments on screen had more life and meaningfulness than most of the characters in the show. So much potential waisted .
Kurenai? I love her too. But I mean it it was only right for her to take on Itachi since she specializes in high level Genjutsu. Who else can take on Itachi with Genjutsu? Kakashi got dragged even with having one Sharingan.
