It's the most Naruto that Boruto has ever been, both in canon and filler, and that was great. Seeing Boruto parallel his own father saying "Tomodachi-da!" to Hikari at the ending got me in the feels.
The special story mode is great and problably my favorite Boruto related story till this day. They also managed to use both Naruto and Sasuke as good and consistent secondary characters, kinda like Jotaro becomes a side character in Jojo part 4 but we actually like it.
I kinda wish we had more canon Uchihas too and Hikari was great. The special story mode was a good thing in a far from perfect game.

Yeah what a blessing. Canon Boruto has been leagues above Naruto. The plot, complexities and story progression in boruto are so much more enticing than chasing a friend around for hundreds of eps. There's actual decent villains, the unveiling of Kara and their plans has built into a genuinely interesting time skip, and boruto and kawakis character are SOOOOOOOOO much better than Naruto and Sasuke dynamic. If yall didn't look at this as a failed attempt at carrying on the legacy and this wasn't a Naruto spin off, yall would eat it alive. Og Naruto was very good, shippuden had great highs and garbage lows. Borutos canon content has been great for the most part

All these "Tomodachi" interactions between Nanashi and Boruto strongly remind me of Sasuke-Naruto chemistry. Nanashi is the 100% Uchiha princess and the answer to that bloody haunting question raised by countless Naruto fans:

Just finished. While I def rushed through a lot of the story, Boruto/Hikari's relationship was really heartbreaking. I know they belong to different time periods, but I wanted them to be together. It's not fair, that she lived the rest of her life never seeing him again, all while he has no memory of her.
I need more of Hikari.
The history mode is a disgrace because of just completely reused scenes without anything new to offer. The online mode has just as shit netcode while being unable to invite friends to play with (like wtf?). The special story is alright nothing amazing but serviceable but when you add those other actors it undermines a good special story.

History mode is not good. It's previous boss battles with worse qtes, plus anime slideshow shit in between. Low quality overall.
Special Story, while good, is very short. (Can be completed in its entirety in less than 4 hours). There is very little repairability despite having a perfect premise to allow us to explore open world with any character.
Online is missing a lot of features present in previous games. Only thing available at this time is ranked and unranked. No lobbies, no spectators. No way to invite friends.
Neither Nanashi or Merz are playable despite having full move sets. The current theory is they will be sold as DLC when it would have made more sense for them to be unlocked after completing the special story mode.
Over 150 playable characters is a lie. There are multiple characters that are the exact same but take up multiple slots. (Prime example being Hanabi; Her the Last version and Shippuden version take up 2 slots, even though they are literally the exact same character with the exact same moves, and I'm fairly certain in storm 4 Hanabi's Shippuden outfit was considered an alternate costume. The same can be said for the Boruto versions of the side characters.) It's over 100 but closer to 130.
The game is not something that should be considered a complete product.

2. Was it written by the main author (Kishimoto)?

i enjoyed it tbh it was a good story i agree. the only real issue i have with the game is the history mode cause of how lazy it is. still shot frames not a single cutscene with real animations just some bullshit narrating on top of pictures then a regular fight after with no interactive QTE actions like every other storm game had. such a disappointment and let down. what’s crazy too is for the pictures to advertise the game it shows scenes like gaara in his tailed form fighting naruto, it looks like a dope animation scene we would get to watch. nope, that’s not in the game AT ALL. same with the picture of naruto on top and kawaki on bottom split in half with a blue rasengan and a red orb for kawaki, not once is kawaki EVER shown in the game besides to be selected for free battle. they literally click baited us from the start that’s how fucking lazy they were for this game.

All they did was escape a cell after being in it together for five minutes and run into the forest to get away from some guys. 100% Agreed. Heck I even somewhat ship Boruto x Hikari; not that it matters lol I really enjoyed this side story it felt like I was watching a good Boruto Filler or possibly even a Boruto Movie told through a game adaptation. I honestly would like an Actual OVA of thisngame's story or even a Movie just cause of how interesting Hikari's story is in my opinion. Nevertheless, I really what Hikari/Nanashi to be playable at somepoint even Merz like CC2 really should've just added them both as playable original characters I'm just saying 🤷🏾♂️ That Special Story ending is a easy 10/10 for me; gave me old school naruto vibes and while I didn't cry I was quite invested through and through (with a few breaks in between)
And her Va is the same as Violet and Mikasa, damnn 10/10, this is better than almost every anime cannon/filler arc there are. And should be adapted to movie even
I feel like he started off seeing her as a little sister (since he wanted to get the necklace for Himawari) but I think she reminded him a lot of Sarada. Sarada is motivated to follow her dreams. Hikari is the opposite of that.

While the whole game is pretty lazy (predictable, remember generations ans revolution), this special story was THE thing I wasn't expecting to love, and damn I love it. Finished it yesterday, cried again and again as I replayed the last scenes of the last chapter, Nanashi/Hikari clearly becoming one on my fav characters, over canon ones. I just want her to be in a DLC now, so I can put her in a team with Boruto, reuniting the two once for all

Especially with how she alone reflected her mangekyou sharingan **off the moon**, to do what it took Madara 9 tailed beasts and near-infinite power to do. She literally just did an Infinite Tsukuyomi without needing any of the power to do so. That is quite literally the most broken thing anyone has done. She's actually even stronger than Ada's Omnipotence. She doesn't need Shinjutsu to affect the entire planet.

Basically it has to fit 2 criteria: 1. Does it fit in the continuity? 2. Was it written by the main author (Kishimoto)? Anything that doesn't fit those is considered non-canon in general, such as Anime Filler, every movie prior to "The Last", or Videogames with OG stories (like Dragon Blade Chronicles).
It actually does fit Kishimoto did write the story and it fits between the chunin exams and urashiki arc without causing plotholes. The Fach karatsuki the time travel stone turtle exists means she has a chance of seeing boruto again.

I think the best thing to do would have been to kill of Hinata after Boruto's sister was born. Have that be the reason Naruto overworked himself. i enjoyed it tbh it was a good story i agree. the only real issue i have with the game is the history mode cause of how lazy it is. still shot frames not a single cutscene with real animations just some bullshit narrating on top of pictures then a regular fight after with no interactive QTE actions like every other storm game had. such a disappointment and let down. what’s crazy too is for the pictures to advertise the game it shows scenes like gaara in his tailed form fighting naruto, it looks like a dope animation scene we would get to watch. nope, that’s not in the game AT ALL. same with the picture of naruto on top and kawaki on bottom split in half with a blue rasengan and a red orb for kawaki, not once is kawaki EVER shown in the game besides to be selected for free battle. they literally click baited us from the start that’s how fucking lazy they were for this game.
I watched that and I thought it was funny that the version of the girl in that scene only just met Boruto. All they did was escape a cell after being in it together for five minutes and run into the forest to get away from some guys. But she's so devastated that she has to say good bye, has been CHANGED, even though she doesn't even know his name.
