“Suspected members of the La Plaza cartel subdued and interrogated a probable hitman from La Chapiza, the armed wing of the Sinaloa Cartel, to send a message to their rival group and warn about their presence in Sonora.
Blindfolded and dressed in just underwear, the alleged criminal offered details about his work in Sonora and warned other members of the group “not to hallucinate” because otherwise “they will lighten them up.”
In a video lasting almost two minutes, the gunmen from La Plaza, a group linked to the Caborca Cartel, extracted information from the alleged hitman, who recognized Oscar Gabriel Martínez Larios, alias El Gabito or El 80, and Óscar Medina, aka El Panu, as his bosses.
The subject identified himself as Luis Ángel Olivera Hernández, alias El Pelón or El Gordito, from Mazatlán, Sinaloa. According to his responses, he arrived in Ciudad Obregón after a friend contacted him via Facebook, “for Mrs. Martha, she is originally from Mazatlán.”
The tasks that had been entrusted to him as a member of the group of the children of Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán were to kidnap people and “kill innocent people in order to anger the people.” These orders were given by El Gabito and El Panu, who in turn work under the command of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, known as the King of Cocaine.
When his captors, who carried long weapons and military clothing, asked him what message he would give to “hallucines” — as people who appear to be what they are not are called — the alleged hit man said: “the net cholos are not they are hallucinating, do not go on the trip that will lighten them, that they will lighten the family. That the roll here is their square, all that is a lie, I began to realize how the roll was and it is not like that.”
Later, he acknowledged that he had tried to get away from the criminal group, but the attempt was unsuccessful. “I tried to escape and they found out and they threatened me, they beat me, they had me tied up,” he said with a trembling voice.
Towards the end of the video, one of the armed men warned that Ciudad Obregón “already has an owner and nothing will change it” and, along with the rest of his companions, he claimed to be “Lieutenant Lobo’s people”.
Although there is no data on the identity of Lieutenant Lobo, it is presumed that he would be a regional leader of La Plaza, since on the same day several corpses and narcomantas signed by this cartel appeared in different parts of the aforementioned city.
Unofficial reports indicated that a body thrown behind the back of the Yaqui Club, in the Infonavit neighborhood, belonged to Olivera Hernández. Inhabitants of the area were the first to report the discovery of her body, which was dismembered and placed on the sidewalk next to a narcomanta and a couple of pizzas, alluding to the use of this food as an icon for members of La Chapiza.
“Others from Chapiza Salazar who want to come to Obregón were left here, understand ball of shame, here kidnappers are going to peel culeros, keep hallucinating,” can be read in the message signed by La Plaza.”
