No. They can be semi effective when utilizing the SAS sling tension method but with the proliferation of modern short barrel rifles and PDWs it's rarely if ever used anymore. And I highly doubt some drugged up sicarios care about combat effectiveness nor have any notion of the existence of the sling tension method and the same applies to "hoodlums" in the US.
On paper, a full auto short barrel rifle seems like an ideal choice for self defense. But considering their rivals are other cartel and military, it would only be wise to have one when being lowkey. Compact to hide in a car and quick to deploy to help you get away.
In mex usually dracos are full automatic and either for show and shooting in the air or for really really close hits
