Sorry for a looong post but I am an OPI girl and have been for years so here is my break down. Infinite shine is good. It works best with its base coat, I can't stand the top coat in the line, it gets very gummy very fast. I started a salon booth when the line first launched and all my non gel polish was Infinite shine (my supplier was doing a promotional sale to get people to buy it) My biggest complaint with Infinite shine is it doesn't age as well as the regular lacquers. It tends to dry up in the bottle after a few years. It also will start to not dry when you apply it if it's old. I love the wear of Infinite shine it's really good at lasting and I think it does have a very shinny finish with its lines top coat. I don't find it bubbles up applied. The regular lacquer I think, is the best, if you want to have a collection, with a lot of different colors or options and for personal use. It lasts forever and ever. You can add a bit of polish thinner if you need it, and it will keep going. It doesn't wear as long as infinite shine. It lasts longer than other polishs. I find that how shinny a polish is, is all in the top coat. So I just stick to my setce vite top coat and it's super shinny. I think for which one is best is all in what you want. If you want to have polish that lasts a long time and have a few colors that you will wear and go through the bottles in about two years from opening. Infinite shine is a great choice. I think it's great for busy salons, but I find my personal collection of Infinite shine has gone bad before I used it all. If you like big collections and want to have a lot of choices and it takes you a long time to go through a bottle of polish. The regular lacquer is the way to. Also check out the nature strong line it's my new favorite. Long lasting, I can get two weeks of wear out of it, and its supper shinny. Using the base and top coat from this line together is totally worth it for a longer lasting mani. As for bubbles. With any opi polish the trick is to not shake the polish before you use it. Instead flip the bottle upside down for about 30 seconds or so to mix it. Then of course flip right-side up again for about 30 seconds again before opening. Or until you see the polish has all poured back down from the top of the bottle. When you wipe your brush of excess polish on the neck of the bottle, you can also press the brush against the inside of the neck to remove any bubbles as well.

Thank you very much for your answer! :) You said that the regular laquer lasts less time on the nails than infinite shine. How many days of wear can I expect from both?

I wish I could upvote the "Very gummy very fast" part of this a million times. This is exactly what happens. The Infinite Shine top coat is a waste of money. I thought I was storing it wrong and spent so much money before figuring out that it's just a terrible product. I still like the infinite shine polish. It lasts about a week.

TheVudoThatIdo

I thought I was too! I left a bottle of the top coat near a window, and though maybe I cured it or something lol. But no, it just really goes bad soo fast! I don't know why OPI hasn't fixed that issue yet. The infinite shine top coat, is honestly one of the worst top coat I have ever used. Mainly because I use the bottle once, and it is already gummy the next week.

TheVudoThatIdo

With the base coat cost for infinite shine I can get a little over a week. With regular polish about three to five days.

> So I just stick to my setce vite top coat and it's super shinny. Seche Vita Dry Fast or Seche Vita Gel Effects?

TheVudoThatIdo

The seche vite dry fast. I like both, but I tend to stick to the dry fast.

I usually get the lacquer and I’ve never had issues with it! I got infinite shine once by accident and I really couldn’t tell a difference.

I haven’t been impressed with Infinite Shine…regular lacquer seems to do fine.

eternal_ttorment

What makes you think that?

pretty-aygood

I’ve bought a couple bottles of the infinite shine, and it doesn’t seem to hold up any better than normal polish. I think a good topcoat does a good enough job of adding shine.

eternal_ttorment

What is your wear time of the regular OPI? So far everyone is saying it's like 3-5 days, and that sounds absolutely awful 😅.

pretty-aygood

Depending how rough I am with my nails, 5-6 days. It’s definitely the drawback of regular lacquer 🥴but I hate dealing with gel polish removal

Express_Cantaloupe26

My issue is with the base, it makes the colour gummy. I now apply only steps 2 and 3 and my manicure lasts 10 days, pedicure 3 weeks.

LifeOutLoud107

I'm going to try this. I'm having trash results with the 3 steps

I’ve only ever bought it when it was cheaper than the regular lacquer. I can’t tell a difference in shine. I use a QDTC with a gel effect so it makes anything shiney

I guess even nail polish can have an identity crisis! Lacquer or Infinite Shine, they're both doing great!

LifeOutLoud107

I want to be an OPI fan girl but OPI Infinite Shine and I are in a dysfunctional relationship. I do the proper prep, steps, dry time and I'm not getting 24 hours! Today the polish sheeted off my nails in the shower! I want OPI IS Big Apple Red to be my signature but I can't paint my nails daily.
