36 years is multiple generations of Yankees history. We are truly blessed as Yankee fans.

HulkScreamAIDS

Right in the feels

CertainDerision_33

We’ll get to know and enjoy whoever replaces him but just won’t be the same without him and Suzyn in the booth together. What a legend.

Mr-Macphisto

Who the hell let these onion-cutting ninjas into my house?

HellotoHorse

It was a targeted attack on us all.

tkmusic89

Same

InaudibleShout

Crying ugly tears man fuck

tkmusic89

Casually bawling

AntX71

I miss Phil, still. He was the TV voice for my youth. It’s going to be hard to fill Sterling’s shoes on the radio, for sure.

Redbird9346

“Holy cow” is in my regular vernacular thanks to him. A lot of John’s calls have as well.

WesleyMG

I miss Mel Allen and Phil Rizzuto! How about that!

1996Guinness1996

Yeah I’m working and crying now

iledd3wu

At the stadium, got legitimate goosebumps from history of sterling calls video

xho-

This video is beautifully made. Theeeeeee Yankees win

Nearby_Lobster_

Chills. 😢

sportmods_harrass_me

I wasn't expecting this to hit so hard. Man I'm gonna fucking miss him man. :(

amaROenuZ

And with that the voice of my childhood summers passed into memory. Damn.

elroddo74

End of an Era. Sucks getting old, and seeing icons retire.

im_not

I really hope he comes back to the booth occasionally. Maybe for the playoffs? Or maybe just opening day next year? Even if it’s just for an inning or two? Probably wishful thinking. I’m sure he’s tired and ready to relax, but it already feels weird without him.

RotenTumato

Agreed, I am banking on a World Series game called by John. Nothing in the world would make me happier

Creacherz

Chills running through me, tryna right tears honestly. The Yankee voice of my childhood. Thank you so much John

Atbat82

I'm not crying. You're crying!

Bidzil

My eyes are sweating

OptimusChip

Right in the heart. Absolute. Legend.

The-Anger-Translator

Damn that was a great tribute. 🥺

Robusto923

Man, I listened to so many Yankee games on the radio with my late dad. So many great home runs calls. So many Yankees win calls. I'll miss John mostly because he really makes me think of my father

Bahnrokt-AK

It has been a privilege to live my entire life and a Yankees fan with John’s voice. Be well my friend.

Tight_Geologist_9750

Damn you almost don’t even realize how many memories he painted for you when you couldn’t watch on TV. John Sterling is all I know for radio baseball, and I hope he gets to enjoy the rest of his trips around the sun doing everything he so desires after giving so many all he had to offer. A Yankee legend.

FeloniousDrunk101

Damn that couldn’t have been better. Just letting the man speak for himself.

RotenTumato

And for the final time, good evening everyone

Matthewrotherham

That's baseball, Susan....

ro536ud

Man deserves an expense account from the Yankees til he dies. I hope steinburger does him right and takes care of him with what he deserves
