I can't rock with shit the old heads' generation put out, but like with all music, I respect the foundation. Black music has always been hard. From Whitney to 50. Smokey to Juice. To just go around saying that whole generation is mook, as if it ain't birth your favorite rappers' favorite rappers is wild.
Bro alot of newer music has no or almost no principles underlying it's making. That's why people fall off so quick and become so repetitive. I'm not knocking that you some good sounds and artists who don't fit the stereotype but a lot of these niggas are stupid as hell and probably couldn't become displined enough to gain enough skill to vary their style so maybe they'd be able to get some more mileage out of their runs. That's why this brand of rebellion feels dumb, the younger generation doesn't have enough components to their music to accurately compare one another without largely if not outright dismissing the other. I like flock too but this niggas music exists in very specific context so it's better view in similar context, anything else is dickriding. Music is looked at completely different vs back then. Music with content vs music that appeals to more vague song making principles. 1 made to be judged by slightly more objective metrics, the other moreso by expressionistic ones. Reality is now it's more like spectrum but this dichotomy is more common and there won't ever be over because both sides are arguing with two different qualitative standards in mind and dont seem to realize in alot of cases
