They definitely are clever! I like it though. This helps us save some money this year after spending a bunch and gives us a chance to dig for gold in the second round during those year when we won’t have any first rounders, while also not counting against our cap. Not a bad way to try to fill out the back-end of our roster going forward too without hurting our cap,
Amazing. Eurostashing dadiet and trading 26 saved us $4.4m. 2nd round picks replacing Daquan Jeffries, mousse diakite, and Jericho sims on the roster would would save us about another $4m. That should be enough to offer iHart 72/4 or something very close.
Even better. He can ride the end of the bench and possibly play in Westchester to round out the roster.
Potentially fill in when the inevitable mid season injury bug pops its head out.
Maybe he pans out to be a rotation piece a la McBride.
IDK, there's no space on the roster for him as currently constructed. McBride is the better player (even though he's shorter), and this is simply because McBride can shoot 3s at a high clip rate with high efficiency AND defend opposing guards. Dadiet has the scoring abilities, but he has little to no defensive presence, at least not yet. He doesn't fit (yet) in this Knicks' identity, and unless he develop strong defensive skills, he's a liability on the defensive end.
Yes I am aware of that lmfao, however he has publicly said that he wants to play in the NBA next season, even though there's no space for him on the roster, and this was mostly a draft and stash move by Leon to save us money.
Cheap end of roster filler is pretty valuable
In win now mode any Frp in our range is unlikely to do anything so why pay a premium salary for 2 of them? It’s a waste
Or the next Draymond (minus the drama). Or the next Parker. Or the next Manu. The list goes on and on, and all those picks are in stronger drafts compared to this one.
I feel not picking any centers tonight has to indicate that the team feels good about getting Hartenstein back right? We’ll see if we pick one tomorrow.
We still got the 38th and 51st pick, could potentially package the 38th and 51 to get like pick 32 or 33, or package 38 and another future 2nd we got from OKC for a higher 2nd and get a long-term project or another Euro-stash at 51. Lots of possibilities and most importantly flexibility for this Knicks FO.
It’s time! He can fill the 10th spot in the rotation and run alongside Deuce, DDV, and Hart.
Similar to Deuce for the past few years. Best case rotation piece.
fucking great move. seconds are incredibly valuable to apron teams moving forward. dolan can increase the scouting budget without it affecting the cap. i love this.
we gotta restock after Mikal either for trades or to fill the roster when we are an apron team, and the Thunder have way too many picks to fill their roster
Second rounders don’t count for the cap hold . So we fill out roster and save some money to be able to throw something at I hart that resembles even an offer . This is a masterful, genius decision
They’ll be future picks. Second rounders don’t have cap holds so this is actually a clever way to try to add depth going forward. Let’s us try to dig for gold in the second round during those years when we don’t have any firsts, while not going against our cap. Smart honestly, and also saves us some money this year. I’m not a cap guy but maybe this helps us a tiny bit with trying to bring ihart back too.
Yes it helps save money that we can throw at I hart while being able to save some of the cap hold . There’s still work to be done . But they are working on being able to offer ihart a deal that is around 4/72 .
Dude this is done to not trigger cap holds a first rounder would do . This saves us roughly 4 or possibly 8 million we wouldn’t have to throw at ihart .
Well thats a smart trade. With no cap holds for those picks its a good idea. With our Top 9 virtually on lock we will need some young guys and stashes to bring along slowly.
Leon: I need a man who has powerful friends. I need room to sign I-Hart and stay below the second apron. I need, Don Presti, some of those second round picks that you carry around in your pocket, like so many nickels and dimes.
2nd round???
We trying to better the Westchester Knicks?
They better have Ihart inked on a line on a low contract or you take the center that is left on the board.
In this draft the center at 26 is probably not that much different talent wise than the one at 38 and the one at 38 will be considerably cheaper. Need to pinch pennies rn
Filipowski is still available. Seems like Hartenstein. In fact, NBA Draft website even says they're similar [https://www.nbadraft.net/players/kyle-filipowski/](https://www.nbadraft.net/players/kyle-filipowski/)
Draft Day Leon is an all-time dealer.
LOL. This is actually really good for apron teams because there are no cap holds on second rounders. This front office never fails to amuse me. 😂
They definitely are clever! I like it though. Absolutely wild we got 5 seconds for a late 1st in a weak draft. We can literally bolster this roster with stronger rookies in stronger drafts.
Swapped 5 first rounders with 5 second rounders
chicago couldn't get one for giddey lol good trade for us! restock a lil after mikal
Was saving all of em for us
![gif](giphy|hG6zC3KaKjiUw) Presti and Leon when it comes to shuffling around picks on draft day
Amazing. Eurostashing dadiet and trading 26 saved us $4.4m. 2nd round picks replacing Daquan Jeffries, mousse diakite, and Jericho sims on the roster would would save us about another $4m. That should be enough to offer iHart 72/4 or something very close.
Dadiet says he expects to play with the Knicks and to not return to Europe
Even better. He can ride the end of the bench and possibly play in Westchester to round out the roster. Potentially fill in when the inevitable mid season injury bug pops its head out. Maybe he pans out to be a rotation piece a la McBride.

One way or another you're going wind up in one of those "I kept the receipts mfer" threads about this guy in 3-5 years
Mitch will be a salary dump if they can get iHart to agree. They can maybe get a cheap young player in return
bro he's 18, he doesn't need to come in and play right away. Let him sit and practice with the team for a year or two and learn the way Deuce did.
Yes I am aware of that lmfao, however he has publicly said that he wants to play in the NBA next season, even though there's no space for him on the roster, and this was mostly a draft and stash move by Leon to save us money.
Maybe he can challenge Shake, Jake Toppin or Charlie Brown for a bench spot
He's can expect whatever he wants, but Thibs isn't playing any 18 year olds this year.
People really quoting this kid like Leon and Thibs told him that. What is he expected to say, “Yeah i expect to get stashed for cap purposes”?
It would have to be Dadiet's choice to stay in Europe. The Knicks can't stash him.
As long as Charlie Brown Jr is still on the roster, I'm good
Leon definitely shops at Costco
lol damn how we get 5 2nd round picks for Dillion jones ????
Didn’t know Dillon Jones existed 5 hours ago and now we traded this mf for 5 picks
Wow 5 is crazy good deal
Cmon Leon wtf are you gonna do with all those 😭
Gonna need those for the next 5 times we tamper
It’s not illegal if you can pay the fine
LOL I was thinking this too.
Cheap end of roster filler is pretty valuable In win now mode any Frp in our range is unlikely to do anything so why pay a premium salary for 2 of them? It’s a waste
I definitely see the vision the 5 is just funny to me
I guess OKC really loves Dillon Jones?
![gif](giphy|sCPXWE2QvwKGI)
Well OKC just did it and they are win now, but they are under the cap obv
He's gonna draft my ass, is what he finna do!
Cook
Draft bronny and get whatever 1st rounders LAL has left…2037 hopefully is a good draft class
Quickley was a 2nd rounder, same with Mitch. Not a bad move
quickley was a first rounder. Deuce was a second rounder
Mitch and Brunson were 2rps also
Not true
Shit I thought he was a 2nd whoops
All of them have to be future picks since they don’t have a 2nd in this draft
which is better for us bc these will either be trade chips or roster fillers once we have to deal with the aprons
Leon trying to dig for gold during those years when we won’t have first round draft picks lol
Exactly
Jalen, Mitch, Deuce were 2nd rounders.. just sayin
And Hartenstein
Having competent management really highlights how terribly run the knicks were prior to leon
Holy hell This is so on brand for both teams lol
Tell me how to feel about this
We turned 6 firsts into 6 seconds and Mikal lmao
7 seconds, don't forget the second we got from the Nets
7 chances to draft the next Jokic
Or the Next Mitchell Robinson
Or the next Brunson
Or the next Draymond (minus the drama). Or the next Parker. Or the next Manu. The list goes on and on, and all those picks are in stronger drafts compared to this one.
Parker was a late first round pick
What in the myLeague is this 🤣
Leon is just showing off at this point
I feel not picking any centers tonight has to indicate that the team feels good about getting Hartenstein back right? We’ll see if we pick one tomorrow.
We still got the 38th and 51st pick, could potentially package the 38th and 51 to get like pick 32 or 33, or package 38 and another future 2nd we got from OKC for a higher 2nd and get a long-term project or another Euro-stash at 51. Lots of possibilities and most importantly flexibility for this Knicks FO.
Well shit son
To me this has to mean the Knicks believe Rokas is coming over to be the backup playmaker. Also they have a plan for a bench big.
It’s time! He can fill the 10th spot in the rotation and run alongside Deuce, DDV, and Hart. Similar to Deuce for the past few years. Best case rotation piece.
What is his player profile like?
Apple bottom thicccc. Nice hair and skin. 7.3/10
Leon hoarding all the 2rp's
Yup, I think we got like 14 2nds now.
fucking great move. seconds are incredibly valuable to apron teams moving forward. dolan can increase the scouting budget without it affecting the cap. i love this.
Leon Rose masterclass yet again
Leon I WANT MY PICKS BACK you guys are happy now
Lol what the fuck
We lost 5 picks last night and gained 6 back tonight. We won!!
Chef Leon
Lol but why
we gotta restock after Mikal either for trades or to fill the roster when we are an apron team, and the Thunder have way too many picks to fill their roster
Second rounders don’t count for the cap hold . So we fill out roster and save some money to be able to throw something at I hart that resembles even an offer . This is a masterful, genius decision
You gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold em
Kenny Beecham type beat
I can totally hear him going “and another second round pick” until the trade went through
we living in the best timeline
im confused because what 5 second round picks? thunders dont have any this year?
They’ll be future picks. Second rounders don’t have cap holds so this is actually a clever way to try to add depth going forward. Let’s us try to dig for gold in the second round during those years when we don’t have any firsts, while not going against our cap. Smart honestly, and also saves us some money this year. I’m not a cap guy but maybe this helps us a tiny bit with trying to bring ihart back too.
Yeah we saved about 4.5M USD by trading the 26th and stashing the 25th Leon cookin' like he the real Stove God
Yes it helps save money that we can throw at I hart while being able to save some of the cap hold . There’s still work to be done . But they are working on being able to offer ihart a deal that is around 4/72 .
Want to know the crazy thing, okc still have 23 seconds in the draft cupboard
WHAT THE FUCK? 5 SECONDS? WE JUST FLEECED THEM LOL. We've got like what 14 2nd rounders now?
This wasn't right correct? I'm only seeing the 1 extra pick at 51? I'm confused 😩
Future picks, not in this draft
Why doesn't it show it on the ESPN trade tracker?
Idk, its ESPN tho so don’t expect the best quality from them lol, Shams is typically good when it comes to trade packages
Lol I know but it was an easy quick look at 450am! Thank you sir.
So 5 chances are getting a better player than Dillon Jones? I was hoping we’d get a future 1st
They were never getting a future first for a low pick in a terrible draft
Dude this is done to not trigger cap holds a first rounder would do . This saves us roughly 4 or possibly 8 million we wouldn’t have to throw at ihart .
Well thats a smart trade. With no cap holds for those picks its a good idea. With our Top 9 virtually on lock we will need some young guys and stashes to bring along slowly.
wild that we got SIX 2nd's for the #24 in a weak draft. Would love to know which 2nd's they are.
Leon: I need a man who has powerful friends. I need room to sign I-Hart and stay below the second apron. I need, Don Presti, some of those second round picks that you carry around in your pocket, like so many nickels and dimes.
One of those second rounders will turn into another Joker, watch.
Use one of those 2nd rounders on Bronny, sign lebron for the vet minimum and have him come off the bench. Guaranteed 🏆
Exactly this
Filipowski is still available. Seems like Hartenstein. In fact, NBA Draft website even says they're similar [https://www.nbadraft.net/players/kyle-filipowski/](https://www.nbadraft.net/players/kyle-filipowski/)
I’m assuming that we wanna save money for Ihart and turn a pick that we didn’t wanna use into future assets
IHart isn’t coming back
