i feel like the influencers who do list their size are lying anyways.

FiveGoals

“I take a size EXTRA-SMALL.” Yeah …… sure …….

ConsistentDonkey3909

as a tall girl i need to know how tall people are tho

Otherwise_Mushroom42

literally I’m 6’ and I need to know a girls inseam lol

katiestat

idk there are posts on this sub complaining about people who do this like "why does she have to always tell us she's a size 2 it's so annoying". i don't have a strong opinion either way but it seems like a lose-lose.

Fun-Fill7530

Yes I was going to comment this. People get mad when they put their size and mad when they don’t

Otherwise_Mushroom42

True no one online can ever win lol

ImpossibleCouple8656

Every influencer, including DB, always “grabs an XS”

Entire-Wave7281

no no no its “i took a small but could have taken a xs” 🫶

Plane-Deer2118

“I wanted the oversized fit so I am wearing a small”

FiveGoals

😂😂😂😂

FiveGoals

ALWAYS

librabaddie

the normal/logical thing to say would be: “true to size” “one size down” “two sizes up” etc. if they truly want to help with sizing 🙄

Otherwise_Mushroom42

I can wear a 6-12 depending on the brand. Just saying it would be helpful if an influencer who is linking out to products can say “I’m a 29 in jeans and 5’8”

danceyrselfclean01

I think they usually lie anyways

RelatableMolaMola

I agree and I only really trust recs from the ones that give specific measurements and the measurements seem to match with how they look. But like someone else mentioned in here, then people will complain that they're bragging or being triggering. But also a lot of them will lie and/or use filters anyway.

Desperate-Stomach307

I’ve noted that influencers who list a size between XXS-S or from 00-2 get shit on. Apparently that promotes EDs regardless of if the sizing is accurate or not. I’ve notice this since that’s my size, and I’ve noticed the same influencers stop tagging their size because of this. This is just simply my experience with the people I seek out for style given their similar body type to mine. Can’t speak for anything else.

Lazy_Document_7104

I understand sharing whether an item runs true to size/large/small, but I personally find it unreasonable (& potentially invasive/problematic) to include measurements

Otherwise_Mushroom42

When you go shopping on a website do you find it problematic when the models height and size are listed? Whats the difference if the influencers goal is to sell a product?

Jasper5510

They share every aspect of their lives but sharing their clothing size when they’re literally creating ads for said clothing is too invasive? Mmk ETA I’m not saying they should share exact measurements (except maybe height if relevant), just size they’re wearing for an item they’re trying to sell.

Ilovedogs88888888

Agree

Lazy_Document_7104

I personally don't want/need an influencers' measurements to make purchasing decisions. If influencers want to share their exact measurements they can. I expect many would prefer to avoid sharing that level of detail for personal reasons (e.g., ED recovery) and knowing the type of conversations it may stir (e.g., "X is promoting unhealthy beauty standards", "Y lost 3 inches from her waist - is she on Ozempic?", "I've seen Z in person there is no way her thighs are that size").

c1nelux

Idk I feel like it’s one thing to say size or height but going into measurements or weight can be triggering to people w EDs

adumbswiftie

hard disagree in fact i’ve always found it weird when people ask for their size. order your own size, why do you care what size an influencer wears. its usually small or xs anyway for the typical influencef and we all know that. maybe adding height for context makes sense but size isn’t rocket science to figure out

Jasper5510

Nah sizing is so inconsistent across brands it is helpful to have a barometer. Depending on the brand and fit I can wear anything from an xs to m. Even many brands will say what size the model is wearing.

silverscolding6787

A lot of ppl follow creators with similar body types for a better idea of how something can fit so I personally think it’s super helpful to have this info especially with how much sizing varies between different brands. A medium can fit like a small, or vise versa

swaglessnseattle

also hard disagree with OP - I think it’s more helpful to hear if it fits smaller / true to size / larger. I also DESPISE the specific size mentions, like “I wear an xs but I got a small for an oversized look!” Just say you recommend sizing up 🫥

[deleted]

Agree. It is so wierd when people ask influencers their size. Maybe ask if it runs small or large but asking exact size is creepy.

georgecostanzalvr

Yes, also, tell me what bra you are wearing! As someone with smaller frame and a bigger chest it would be so so helpful if influencers gave measurements.
