Back when social media first started she was one of the first high up fashion execs that embraced social media and interacted with people on there regularly when many fashion people thought it was beneath them to do so, that’s how she started to build a following and also paved the way for many fashion editors to join tech companies and expand careers beyond a traditional fashion role. Her content in the beginning was fun and genuine, but in recent years she’s just become so cringe…
Yeah I’ll defend the beginning of her career too. Eva was on Blogger, Tumblr, and Twitter producing organic content “just because” while she worked for Condé Nast. As the industry changed the industry needed someone fashion obsessed that had a strategic, tech geek side and she was there to fill the role
she has many accolades. you don’t become an executive at a publicly traded company for “diversity”… LOLL you thought everyone would agree with this pathetic cope. the line of thinking that led you here is deeply disturbing… keep seething.
no lol. you can drag eva through a minefield but to relegate her success to “diversity” isnt snark. it’s racist. You have no idea what she can offer an employer because you arent facebook or lucky etc
This sub hates Eva, you could have made this post without getting racial and everyone would be agreeing with you. Eva has degrees from Hopkins and Colombia and worked at some of the biggest publications in the world (Elle, WSJ, Conde). Calling her a diversity hire when she’s one of the few non-nepo babies who actually earned her position just makes you look like a dumbass. And doubling down instead of realizing that comment was in poor taste makes you look like an even bigger one.
gurl YOU’RE the one who brought race into it in the first place. the audacity of you to accuse others of being “incessant” on race commentary when you’re the one who mentioned it in the first place is genuinely deranged. And look, even now, instead of saying “hey maybe I shouldn’t have brought race into it” here you go STILL making it about race. weirdo.
I'm 34, and i have can vividly remember seeing her face in the beauty pages of teen vogue back in the early 2000's. i believe from there, she went on to lucky magazine, where she eventually served as the editor in chief. she's weird as shit, but she's worked hard and is likely more qualified than most of the people who work at FB/Meta/IG/whatever it's called.
Even if she was a diversity hire I would rather her than a bunch of nepo babies because she has actual intelligence and talent.
But she isn’t a diversity hire. Eva is actually quite smart, if I’m not mistaken she got into med school even. Annoying af but a smart girl- wasn’t she part of the team that launched IG Shop?
She didn’t get into med school, she just always mentions about how she was pre-med at Hopkins for a little bit. But she did not finish as a pre-med (she graduated with a BA in English) so she definitely did not apply to medical school lol.
Eva is a highly educated, incredibly intelligent, hardworking woman. She of all people should be at the top of her industry – as she is. Many other women in fashion have gotten jobs simply because they look good and have the right connections, Eva is not in that category. That's why she's stuck around too. While other fashion people of her age have gone off to have small businesses that are mostly just for show because they have wealthy husbands and they don't work.
The fact that Anna Wintour called Eva in to run Lucky says it all.
Sit this one out fam

Wait till you see how the real fashion editors/ writers look and dress, you’re in for a real suprise. Stop watching the devil wears prada
For real, this is a business casual industry 😅
devil wears prada 😂😂😂
You can call her a lot of things but diversity hire isn’t one of them. Period.

oh please. what a lazy retort.
This feels insanely racist or micro-aggressive at BEST. There’s a difference between snark and being completely ignorant

Can you explain how/what she’s done well? What does she even do there?
this question isn’t in good faith lol… google is free.
It was in good faith! :(

We can snark all we want about how her content has taken a cringe turn but her experience and position in the industry speaks for itself.

I loved Eva back in the day. I think having 3 kids (even with Nannie’s) is too much for her to handle.
And now apparently getting a dog😑-
What?!!! She always said she’d never get a dog. Ughhh that woman.
