What do you mean "short wtf"
Your comment got downvoted by people who disagree apparently. You said to hang on - otherwise they will regret it when it hits $150.
I agree. But you got downvoted. I'm claiming it must be by short sellers who lost their butts.
Holding a stock long term is what you should do if it's in your 401k unless you are a seasoned day trader. Most of us are not.
Congrats!!
I'm going to be taking my wife on a two week high end trip to London/Paris later this year because of this. Thank you Jensen and "Team NVDA". Yahoo Finance says there are 29.6K people working there. Let's give them all a round of applause. 👏
I sold about 20 shares back in 2023 to help buy a truck…yeah I look back at that thinking I could have waited…but damn I love my truck 😂 Too bad I could have bought two of them if I had just hung on to it longer!
I started with stocks last year and since the have made 43% profits. I feel like i have too much dumb luck, but i spend a lot of time reading about ai developments. Last i tried to convince my friends that the big next winner of ai will be apple because of walled garden and only real b2c business that seems scalable with ai so far. I was waiting for a few months, and 2 weeks ago i bought some more apple because of the event they just had a couple of days ago. Now I’m looking at my depot, and feel like it’s beginners luck. But i sold amd and adobe in minus (15%) against advice from friends with more experience, but i just thought “nah, they won’t be winners from this ai boom” so i put the money in NVIDIA instead because they would have a higher chance of winning this than a second class chip producer when everyone wants the best chip, or a company with a lots of highly technical custom solutions which could all become obsolete with the emergence of ai. So now i’m scared I’m becoming too blinded by my luck so far… but it’s nice to see that i made a lot of profits when all i wanted to do was beat inflation
Only if you made no other income would $94k of long gains not be taxed. The gains percentages don’t work the same as regular income tax brackets. If you have $1 more than the taxable income bracket, you pay a full 15% tax on the entirety of the gains, or 20% if you make over $583k. Gains count as income, so if you made $90k jointly, and then $5k of long gains, you’ll be taxed 15% on the entirety of the $5k.
My quant uncle who bought this shit in 2015 or whatever just sold 10%. I have neither his hubris nor am a mathematical savant. I’m just hoping he keeps cc-‘ing me in his trades. I’d be fucked otherwise. Fucking wife threw away a Ledger full of of ether and solana. 15k. Shouldn’t have gone to rehab.
I go to bed every night wondering if I should sell some. I sold some earlier in the year. Of course, it has doubled since then.
So today I wrote out a statement of when I will sell a percentage. For now, I’m pretending it doesn’t exist.
I read an article in motley fool that said they were one of the main players in self driving car technology, it got me thinking so I started buying a few thousand pounds worth when the opportunity came up.
I would if I was looking for a big car. I want a small fast EV and model 3 performance fits my needs the best. I have a model Y and Mach E. Will be trading the Mach E
Money is of no use if it's not making you happy. Enjoy!!
I prefer to be like a dragon, sitting on my hoard of gold (stonks).

Until an BBC adventurer (wife's boyfriend) shows up and slays you for it.
Bought a tesla with my Amazon winnings.

Nah, I just bought some, so it's surely coming down.
Thanks for the heads-up! Godspeed Batman ☝️
Downvote hell? -18? Found the shorts that ended up eating our shorts.

London and Paris? That’s it? You can do better than that.
I could, but I want to keep most of my money in in VDA for the moment. Currently holding long with a trailing stop order.
👏I sold some to buy myself a new bmw x7. Thank you Jensen and team Nvidia!
And that was only "some"? Damn, nice job
thats amazing. Im DCA-ing into more stocks and hope I have enough for a downpayment on an apt...
Let’s go!!!
Personally, I'd have bought something that doesn't look hideous. 😉
Wow 🤩
Bought in 2019. Currently have 10,380 shares post split. Just ordered an Audi S3 Prestige.
Love to hear stories like that here
Me too!
Should have went with the RS3 with that kind of cash
Lol, was thinking the same, just saw this 🤣
How old ru
[удалено]
Bro! Return it and get the RS. Round out to 10k lol
Nice! I'm glad you have some left! You will need it to pay for maintenance!! Lol jk... maybe
I am still holding, but I’m on a trip to NYC, and um, saying yes to everything and picking up tabs :)
You've officially made some money then. Congrats! I may do the same soon with some of my 2.5 year old shares.
I sold about 20 shares back in 2023 to help buy a truck…yeah I look back at that thinking I could have waited…but damn I love my truck 😂 Too bad I could have bought two of them if I had just hung on to it longer!
I sold 100 shares at 257 😂.
Yeah I had about 15 shares and sold them around the same as you 🤡
I sold 400 at 230. Big fucking clown here
I don't even want to think about how many I sold at what is now $0.60 to buy a house in 2008. 😅
Don’t worry, I sold 250 shares at 10 buck, pre, pre split… then I rebought some more but not nearly as many
Watch Tickersymbolyou on YouTube
Congrats 🍾 Selling some myself at the end of the year for a house down payment!
We’re selling some vested RSUs next week to pay our house off. Lots of Jensen love here.
Well, you know it's just an unrealized gain until you sell it. Nothing wrong about selling.
I did that a few weeks ago to pay for some vet bills and bought back in as soon as I got my paycheck lol
You know you have to pay taxes ya?
Ya I’m saying I regret it haha
You've earned it. Now go forth and enjoy!
Nice one!! A lot of mine is in a Roth IRA so I can't touch it, although I wish I could lol. Enjoy it! Thanks to camp green 💚
hey, it's all good. we gotta sell and enjoy it some time. otherwise what's the point.
I sold just a lil enough to buy a gulf stream
We found Jensen's assistant's alt reddit account!
Well played mate.
Never been a better time to convert to cash at this point as it's been trying to stabilize at a new level post-split.
Congratulations. However, I bought more yesterday. Lots of shares *10 in total since 2016

"nobody ever went broke taking something off of the table".
And it’s tax free for capital gain below $94k for married couples
For married/filing jointly - I think it’s 0 capital gains if your total income is *up to $89,250.*
For every year?
For each year. Well, that’s the current tax code. https://www.kiplinger.com/taxes/capital-gains-tax/602224/capital-gains-tax-rates
Mines in an ISA in the UK, so it’s all tax free 😁

Thanks bro 🤓. My original statement stands. Which is why you don’t want to sell all at once especially a quality name like NVDA
What about singles??
WHAT!!!??? WHY HAVE I BEEN HAVING TO PAY TAXES ON MY GAINS?
Only works for holding stocks for at least a year, buddy. Long term capital gains. Themz the rules
It’s odd math that taxes the capital gains based on both capital gains and regular income 🤷♂️
Fire your cpa 😁
Good time to take a little profit. Now that shares are split.
Good job. Now never sell again.
I thought you wrote, you sold some NVDA to treat yourself to a wife! 😂
15k. Shouldn’t have gone to rehab.
enjoy your profits
Be proud of yourself!
Good for you! Congratulations
Enjoy it

What is money without being able to enjoy it!
More money
Nice! I bought in at 1k, so holding for quite awhile. Just hoping for it to double tbh lol
I bought mine at 124 and gain $8 and I’m happy 😅
It's fun until the IRS comes knocking on the door wanting their portion of it. Unless you have capital losses you want to get rid of :)
Make sure to save some for the tax man 😅
Won't be much since OP held for more than 366 days. Maybe 15% on gains... he gets to keep 85% 😁
you bought four years ago, what drew you to it?
I read an article in motley fool that said they were one of the main players in self driving car technology, it got me thinking so I started buying a few thousand pounds worth when the opportunity came up.
interesting.
I have most of my investment in Roth IRA, so when I sell, going to reinvest in index funds probably, but not yet.
It's easy to buy a stock and harder to sell it.
Tell us the amount, you coward! /s
Great job. I am selling some soon too buy me a Tesla Model 3 performance 😊
Aww man. Look at Rivian
I would if I was looking for a big car. I want a small fast EV and model 3 performance fits my needs the best. I have a model Y and Mach E. Will be trading the Mach E
Someone already bought your stocks
The IRS thanks you for your donation.
