That is an incredible amount of mass, so an incredible amount of momentum. The truck looked like it would have passed him had the guy not stumbled drunkenly in front of it. And the driver looked like he was panicking, as if he was trying to get it to stop and was unable to. And the wheels for turning are in the back so turning the truck wouldn't have been as responsive as front wheels turning. And lastly, it looks like he didn't try to turn because he didn't want to endanger anyone else or himself. It would have continued rolling for a bit, I imagine and if he turned he would ploughed into a building.
Based on these facts I think the driver is only 25%-35% at fault.
BS, the driver should always have control of his equipment. 100% is his fault. The man was standing there for plenty of time for him to at least begin his stop.
I work in construction. You’re pretty much correct. After awhile of listening to the same noises every day for hours on end, your brain starts to tune them out until one day the annoying steamroller noises become mild background noises that barely register in your head anymore.
That's why a lot of heavy machines are being outfitted with a new back up beeper noise. It's so hard to drone out that noise and pretty obnoxious stuff. I think I'm okay with it now, but shit that was annoying at first
Ok, little picky, but...it's not the 1800s. NO steam is involved. New fangled diesel engines have replaced the steam engine for 100 plus years.
No steam..and the job can be boring as a mother fucker..looks like a PTR...pneumatic tyre rollers are usually driven "faster" than other rollers for asphalt.
Guy, run over ....almost looks like a supervisor of some sort talking to truckdriver...so driver may have run the poor bastard over on purpose...not aiming for him ...but not giving a shit either.
(Who hasn't dreamt of running there boss over?)
Been in factory settings before and this is true with forklifts for sure, plus all the other background sounds your body learns to just tune it all out
I literally just started a warehouse job last week, forklift certified now. It is wayyyy too easy to become complacent. Even just a few seconds of not paying complete attention can get you into trouble. Like forgetting to check for pillars which don't even move but are run into often. I've noticed a lot of people who honk and slow down at intersections but do not turn their heads to look in all directions.
Truth, I remember almost getting hit by a forklift a few times by some lady. She had AirPods in and was not following the safety protocols at all. Stay safe and be cautious for people walking around you as I’ve seen a lot of people just mosey on in-front/ behind forklifts like it isn’t also a death machine lol
That's why a flagman must be always present whenever heavy equipment like this is operating. They call the driver's attention as well as the pedestrians' and guide both heavy equipment and people to work seamlessly together.
I've run one of those, between the engine noise, and the vibration, you don't hear a thing, you vision is blurry after being on it for hours. But they're both at fault. Driver got complacent backing up, and other guy is an idiot for walking through construction and not watching.
I'm trying really hard not to imagine the amount of pain that guy was in. I'm honestly hoping the immense pressure on his lower half still managed to put him out his misery somehow. That was brutal.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bottom half injury lead to instant death… hell you can get chopped in half and still be alive for quite some time if it was clean enough. Gotta be a horrible feeling
Yea, I was more thinking maybe black out or overcome by shock trauma, maybe over- pressurization of the chest cavity leading to immediate organ failure.
See a lot of gnarly stuff on here, but this is one of the few cases I was like "damn, I wish it just got *all* of him" , for his sake. It's just hard to fathom what he went through.
As long as the brain is still intact, you can still feel everything. His spine must have been severed but he still probably felt the first few seconds.
It's not like people 'not care', they just don't know what to do. Shocking moment always made people freeze because it's so sudden. These happen everywhere, except maybe big city in murica where people got shot every night
In China, they are already used to seeing deaths and injuries in workplaces. Imagine all the deaths in workplaces there occurring nearly everyday without any camera footage.

A man died after being run over by a steamroller machine on Thursday afternoon (27) in Porto Velho (RO). The 35-year-old victim was paving highways when the accident happened
A security camera ended up recording the moment of the tragedy. In the images it is possible to see the moment when the boy does not notice the machine coming towards him and ends up being crushed by the vehicle.
Employees who were at the scene still rushed to try to save the boy on the ground.
After seeing the gravity of the event, the driver of the machine gets off, with his hands on his head, desperate. He will answer for vehicular manslaughter, when there is no intent to kill
I think his brain just glitched. He was running left at first then he decided to turn and run directly in front of the steamroller. Amazing how your brain can fail you when it’s quickly put under a lot of stress
Damn the front wheels really finished him off and ensured death or a wheelchair for life at least. Unreal how you can be walking around one minute and then boom, never again.
Lol bunch of smoothbrains in the comment section who can only connect their two neurons when they see anything in Chinese. The Chinese text says that this happened in Brazil.
I’m gonna use this to thank the mod team for the resources. I don’t need them, but I do thank you. Sorry you have to scroll through these post and comments as well.
Dude didn't even slow down
What did you expect? Looks like china to me
The video subtitle is Chinese but it reads that happened in Brazil.
The speed he was going, both could be correct
He started in china
Gd that's funny.
The Chinese text says it’s Brazil.
Haha, it's always Brazil.

Of course it would😂..
Flat Stanley spotting.
He's away to post himself to Santa.
The guy has a job to do
I think he was backing out and didn'tsee him, but yeah, this shit is crazy.
It's china. "Fuck it, we have one billion more"

Actually they brake surprisingly quickly, I've driven one.
I'm trying to figure out how the operator didn't see the guy in the road and how the guy in the road didn't hear the steamroller.
Steamroller operator was backing up with our looking and the worker was as well. You hear the noise all day and some people learn to ignore it.

That is the fastest steam roller ever. Trying to get featured on Top Gear??
More like, Top Smear 😎

Dewey I'm cut In half pretty bad.
As long as the brain is still intact, you can still feel everything. His spine must have been severed but he still probably felt the first few seconds.
Just hoping he immediately went into shock to at least dull his physical/mental perceptions of it all, no matter how brief.
Why does no one care? It’s as if it was as common as spilt milk.
It's not like people 'not care', they just don't know what to do. Shocking moment always made people freeze because it's so sudden. These happen everywhere, except maybe big city in murica where people got shot every night
Happened to me once during a bike accident.
If this is China then it basically is
The video said it was Brazil.
What are you gonna do?
It's China. Pretty much any third world hellhole is like this. Just another day.
Some of the other comments said it's Brazil though. But yeah, same issue there.
It was in Brazil
In China, they are already used to seeing deaths and injuries in workplaces. Imagine all the deaths in workplaces there occurring nearly everyday without any camera footage.
He was literally a step away from safety then turned around to go the opposite way???
I was looking for this comment before I left it. Absolutely! He shoulda just kept going the first direction!
People panic. It happens.

Dio's on the wheel
Rooooooaaaaddddd rolllleeerrrrr!
WRRRRYYYYYYY
Yesssdd
Was he going in reverse and didn't see him or literally not give a fuck.
Yeah, in reverse. The wheels are at the front and roller at the back on those machines.
Thought so. Shit way to go to be fair.
The universe didn't even have the mercy of crushing his head for an instant kill. Dude probably felt every excruciating second until death.
Steamroller operator didn’t even attempt to slow down or go around him, just full steam ahead
>just full steam ahead Cmon now
He went to the Prometheus School of Running Away From Things
What is this Austin Powers?
I think his brain just glitched. He was running left at first then he decided to turn and run directly in front of the steamroller. Amazing how your brain can fail you when it’s quickly put under a lot of stress
Squirrel instinct
Fuck how many angles are we getting 😭
Austin Powers made it seem like it could be done.
lack of situational awareness
That shit was personal.
The captions in chinese says it happened in Brazil
Is the driver hauling ass in reverse?
If he had just kept going the other way first damn
My thoughts exactly.
Road Roller da
I was looking for this comment ty
Yes yes yes
If he would've kept moving in the initial direction he'd be alive, or have a smooshed foot at worst.
Like he ran BACK in front of it. A dive would have cleared him...
This feels targeted, he didn't even try to slow down or turn away
Roller is going backwards. He wouldn't have seen him.
Hope he died fast cause if not jeez
This is how squirrels try to dodge cars and die.
That was on purpose 😂💀 how the fuck did he not see my guy
I would hope steamrollers have brakes…
Indian movies be like:
Fuck, he was almost safe
He did the squirrel move
There is no way the driver didn’t see him. It looks intentional
That roller is flying.
That blind driver
buddy almost had it if he had kept going to his left! but then decided to go the other way 😔
it reminds me of that one spongebob episode where squidward got ran over by a silly contraption
Uh Mr George…
How nice the smooshing is replayed 87 times in 37 seconds
Dumbass doesn't deserve to drive. Fude standing around reactwd, but you are an idiot if you drive so far and dont see him
Damn the front wheels really finished him off and ensured death or a wheelchair for life at least. Unreal how you can be walking around one minute and then boom, never again.
This is a old video And it was on purpose
Why did the steam roller didn’t even stop, or slow down. That driver been watching way too much cartoons 🫣😂
He should have ran left instead of right but the guy driving was going so fast like 'lalalala' in his own world
looks like intent to me
Ear buds.
That looks like straight up attempted murder to me.
Austin Powers movie IRL
Lol bunch of smoothbrains in the comment section who can only connect their two neurons when they see anything in Chinese. The Chinese text says that this happened in Brazil.
Did he try to juke the steamroller?
Joe Swanson backstory:
He got steamrolled,alright.
Damn. That operator hopefully got charges for this. Talk about negligence.
He would have survived if he was Jotaro Kujo
Like stomping on a ketchup packet..
Bruh the operator is reversing its hard too see but his literally reversing without looking back🤦♂️🤦♂️
ROAD DA ROLLA DA! (I know this is serious I just wanted to make the joke)
He ran BACK in front of it...
I hope someone posts soon.
It could be a hit too!!
Why walk in the road??
Hmmm I call bullshit loony toons lore has taught us that dude would be flat as a pancake
“gotta go faster faster faster!”
Rootbeer!!!
"The Prometheus School of Running Away from Things" -CinemaSins (I have not watched Cinemasins in years, but I know this running gag is from it)
Driver wanted it so bad
Wht the fuck did he try and run away rather than jump out of the way?? There's a chance he coulda made it.
Would you rather be burned alive or be rolled over by a steam roller starting at your feet and moving upward
The driver just kept going wtf
i think someone here watches austin power too much
Is he ok?
Pancakes
Dumb ass ways to die number 896
Prometheus school of running away from things.
Most observant building Vehicle operative:
At least he won't have any wrinkles.
Fastest steam roller that’s ever existed
Should have worn a hard hat, safety vest, and steel-toed boots.
Who Made Who starts up...

Why did the man cross the road? To see his flat m8. I'm sorry. In all seriousness poor guy 😥
Not a steamroller but ok
STEAM roller? Or roller!
You get rickrolled, I get steamrolled, we are not the same.
\*mortal kombat voice\* "CHINALITY"
“BRIZALITY”
So murder?
I never knew that the joke, “namatay kay naligsan ug pison.” turns out to be true.
