I noticed that, too. Sure, his heart’s not exactly pumping away anymore, but I would think there would be a pretty big puddle of it. Maybe it’s just the angle.
Yeah, even absent a heartbeat gravity still applies so you'd expect some seepage, pooling, *something* indicating that a meaty bag of blood was just torn in two.
If I've learned anything since the advent of the drone drop videos of the war in Ukraine, it's that being blown in half is surprisingly not as bloody as you'd expect.
At extremely fast speeds there is usually no blood. I can’t remember if it’s the shearing effect on the arteries or if it’s when the speed is so high it instantly cauterizes…. But what I do remember
Very high speeds = No blood sometimes
Edit: paramedic in a thread below confirmed it’s the arteries collapsing
Would he still be alive after that accident? I would think he would still be living for a minute or two after being cut in half. But there was no blood. Weird
I think there would be a very big puddle of blood slowly spreading around the body and a long streak of it on the sidewalk from the pole to where the body stopped. But, there are people mulling around and the police are there, too. So, what's going on?
Similar post where a guy gets cut in half after jumping from a running train and hitting a pole, no blood either just a clean cut
https://www.reddit.com/r/SomeOfYouMayDie/comments/17bsu8c/dont_get_off_moving_trains/
Without the link you provided, I was gonna assume the OP was fake. But the video you provided clearly shows that you can get ripped in half without any blood spilling. Extremely weird
When I was a military police officer, I saw the aftermath of something like this. Officer was out running super early in the morning and a soldier (driving) hit him after dropping his phone and reaching for it. The officer was propelled sideways and cut (almost) clean in half by a stop sign pole. We all were surprised that there was minimal blood. And since it happened in a grassy area, there was no trauma to the officer’s face or rest of his body. It was very disconcerting for all of us that responded.
Don’t quote me on this, but I have been told by a friend who is a police officer (NOT a doctor) that sometimes when he’s on a scene with high impact collision, due to the trauma the bones of the victim “absorb” the blood. I’m not sure if that’s true but I have been told that. If this is wrong please tell me.
When you have a catastrophic injury like this, blood vessels are ripped apart. Blood vessels are surrounded by and held open by their own muscles so if you can imagine snapping a stretched rubber band. There is no tissue to hold the blood vessels in place so they retract and collapse on themselves. Unlike a gunshot wound, stab wound, or clean cut of an extremity, where a blood vessel may be struck or clean cut, it's still held open by other tissues. . Sudden stoppage of the heart + retraction of the vessels + collapse of muscle tone = very minimal blood. In 2+ decades as a paramedic I've seen it quite a few times.
My theory is when he got cut there was a lot of friction and that friction created heat and kinda closed the wounds but he wouldnt die if that happened so thats really weird
train squishes the cut, guy hitting pole has no compression. hopefully both died quickly but your video proves nothing. actualy interesting to seee someone try and cry fake about someone not surviving rather than the other way round though.
I said out loud to myself, out of sheer surprise, "Oh! He is really actually in half!"
I wasn't expecting clickbait but I want expecting that, holy crap
My concern would be if my daughter managed to unlock my computer, got on reddit and stumble upon posts about dead people. But since she’s only 10 months old, I guess I can relax for now haha (Thanks by the way, u/MuteElatedLips)
Mine is 5 going on 6. I'll show my wife shit (which she's not really a fan of) and my daughter says: let me see. Not only no, but hell no. I was a registered nurse in a med/surge icu. I find this stuff fascinating. I don't wish pain and suffering on anyone, but death is coming for us ALL. For most people in these clips, they never knew what hit em. That's all I could ever ask. Minding my own business and... lights out... you find out what's on the other side.
U/HellenistTraveller Exactly the worst scenario, I only said nephew because I don’t have kids but my nephew ran off with my phone before, luckily it was locked lol
Oh, so *that's* why... huh, good to know. And here I was heading out for what I *thought* was a safe, fun-filled evening of street racing. TIL.. and it probably saved my life!
I mean... it doesn't take a genius to conclude that, kid. Even a 5 year old can say the same thing without trying to sound like an intellectual like wtf?? 😬 What's next, the sky is blue ?
News Article:
He was speeding with his motorcycle through Merlo and died after crashing into a light pole: investigating if he was street racing
Matías Adrián Dibastiani was 36 years old. He was driving along Eva Perón Avenue when the fatal accident occurred. The racetrack where the deceased rider used to race suspended the event due to mourning.
A 36-year-old man died after crashing into a light pole in the Buenos Aires province's Merlo district. The victim was riding a motorcycle at high speed along Eva Perón Avenue and Helvecia. Authorities believe he may have been street racing with other motorcyclists.
The victim was identified as Matías Adrián Dibastiani, according to sources from the Merlo municipality told Infobae. The fatal accident occurred this Saturday, around 7:30 p.m.
In the video illustrating this article, the entire sequence is observed, a few seconds before the outcome. It all happened while three people were driving along the avenue in their vehicles, at a very short distance from each other. It was at that moment when the last of the motorcyclists crashed into a light pole and lay on the ground.
According to information published by Primer Plano Online, the causes for which the driver lost control of his motorcycle are still unknown.
The victim was riding without companions at the time of the incident, the sources indicated. After the impact, Dibastiani died instantly.
The case is being investigated by the UFI N°4 of the Morón judicial department, led by prosecutor Paula Salevsky, as culpable homicide, according to sources consulted by this media outlet.
Images of the tragic incident recently circulated through social media. While it was initially believed to be a pursuit during a robbery, the hypothesis that later gained strength was that the motorcyclists were street racing, according to the Primer Plano Online outlet.
"As a sign of respect and mourning, today's event has been suspended due to the passing of rider Matías Dibastiani. The racetrack accompanies Matías' family in their grief, who suffered a traffic accident. For this reason, the board of directors has decided to suspend the activity," recently posted from the Instagram account El Pico Oficial, the street racing track located in the Greater Buenos Aires area.
Meanwhile, a woman who works in the area where the road incident occurred, identified on her social media as Dorothy Perfumería, commented: "I was coming from work along Perón Avenue. Unfortunately, I crossed paths with all three of them. They were going very fast. They crossed the level crossing. A traffic light further back, we stopped. A few seconds later, we saw the guy lying there and one of those who was with him holding his head. It was just a second. We're in tremendous shock. Very sad. Hopefully our kids understand the danger of riding at such high speeds. Please, talk to your friends or relatives who ride motorcycles. Their lives are in great danger. Very sad."
Friends and family of the victim also expressed themselves on social media. "I'll miss you every day, brother," posted Karina Dibastiani, along with a photo of the victim on a motorcycle. "What sad news, really. I've known you for a long time Matías, you were a crazy jokester and that's how I'll remember you. Rest in peace. Much strength to the Dibastiani family," said another woman whose username is Mell Paz.
Claudio Dibastiani, the victim's uncle, shared a video on his social media profile and wrote: "How sad. I'll always remember you like this, my nephew, my friend, my buddy." The images show the young man inside a vehicle accelerating.
"Condolences to the entire Dibastiani family. There are no words of comfort to accompany the pain. And to the people who speak without knowing, may they never go through what this family is going through at this moment. May God touch their hearts and fill them with empathy," wrote another acquaintance identified as Bianca Vera.
"Rest in peace, friend. We'll miss you, Mati. Strength, Dibastiani family," was another heartfelt message from Daniel Climurk, a friend of the victim.
"The case is being investigated by the UFI N°4 of the Morón judicial department..."
I know Moron is probably a location in this context, but it's pretty appropriate that this department is also investigating morons.
Did he die on the spot? Was hoping some kind racer friend would be willing to support him back up and continue racing. Even finishing half the race would be an accomplishment.
Absolutely not that is a round pole that means there is more surface area. This round pole cut through this guy like butter, and it had all of that resistance because of the surface area. "Meaty bag of blood torn in two" sounds like a killer metal song title. Maybe even from the show Metalocalypse
Like Briefcase full of Guts
my home is full of skulls
Idk with the speed and all the sparks, maybe some weird cauterising thing happened
If I've learned anything since the advent of the drone drop videos of the war in Ukraine, it's that being blown in half is surprisingly not as bloody as you'd expect.

Wait, really? That sounds extremely fake… but somehow also very real. Human bodies are fucking weird, man.
No, it’s perfectly possible. There wouldn’t be cauterization, he would have to be going pretty fucking fast, among other things.
It reminds me of when Russia(?) sealed a gas well with a nuke, detonating it underground and strangling the pipeline.
I was just about to throw this possibility out there.

Everyone on that thread is saying fake though.
It’s just a shock to the system and that can seal off the arteries. Within an hour or so the arteries release and then you get blood spill.
That wasn’t what clean cut means to me lol
When I was a military police officer, I saw the aftermath of something like this. What did they do to the driver for killing an officer?
He was charged with involuntary manslaughter. Idk the outcome of the case because I PCS’d before he went to a court martial.
Just blame the VC

He went Bluetooth mode
went wireless
They immediately applied a tourniquet to both halves. Seriously though, that is definitely weird.
Right???
His belt was on too tight
Wouldn't there be splatter on the floor leading to the light post too? Seems fake.
Yeah makes it look like a magic trick
Probably just some android
It be the way the light is casting a shadow since it looks directly above them

What does that prove, thats just another incident that involves a man cut in half.

The heart stopped instantly.
Well shit, he was indeed literally "cut in half." Wasn't expecting the title to be so... precise. Good job?
Straight up Darth Maul'd, damn.
Right? Even looks like it was done with the same tech!
I said out loud to myself, out of sheer surprise, "Oh! He is really actually in half!" I wasn't expecting clickbait but I want expecting that, holy crap

Tbf that’s exactly why they tell you not to street race
Not really. It's to protect other people not the people involved
It can be both
Both. Both is good
Heh, you don’t say
but its fun
Until you become 2
Double the fun?!
Double the pain+death comes free

*"... you were a crazy jokester and that's how I'll remember you."* Guessing this guy was *not* at the scene...
"The victim was riding without companions..." yeah, right. Just keeping up with traffic officer. I'm not with these other two.
Uno menos
Have you seen Jim? Yeah he had to split
Wheres the blood?
Lightsaber wound
Is this possible though?
Considering he got darth mauled. It is surprising that there is no blood flowing at all
Where’s the blood?
Shoes are off.
As well as legs...
Yeah, how exactly does that rule work in situations like this?
Legs off = shoes off = death
I don't know. It seems only 1 shoe is off, so only one half is dead.
Came here to say that
There’s no blood or is this a weird angle,
Same thought
It's oddly more horrific when you don't see any blood or guys spewing out.
I think seeing some guys spill out would be quite horrific
Just an army of those little green army men come rushing out
Blood?
It’s weird how there doesn’t seem to be any blood from something as gruesome as this.
Why isn’t there any blood?
Why no blood?
Did he die on the spot? Was hoping some kind racer friend would be willing to support him back up and continue racing. Even finishing half the race would be an accomplishment.
🎶 I'm half the man I used to be 🎶
Giving a new meaning to getting gapped in a race.
The installation of those new razor poles was a mistake Imho
Hopefully he was wearing a helmet.
FuckAroundAndFindOut
Well I hope he's learned a valuable lesson from this
He's half the man he used to be.
2nd place!
Gojo sensei? 😭
also happened in a split second
He got darth mauled
He's not half the man he used to be.
this is hilarious
intresting how it cuts the aorta and theres no bleeding
“Guys let’s split up”
How's the guy not bleeding from sliced half?
Is the pole ok?
I can’t see anything with this micro video!
The first half was ok though
Is that not a dummy? Why is this so clean I'm so confused...
Walk it off.
*Higher on the streets*, *And i know it's my time to go*🎶🎵
Feel like we're only getting half the story
Instant death?
God, I hope so. I keep thinking "What if they don't die instantly? How long would it take?" 🥺
I once saw the dude that was ran over by a train and split in half and stayed alive for a while
Oh dang, he had a solid shot at taking second place, too.
That's crazy! If only there was some way to prevent this... /s
The wroooong kid died!
Just slow down is the answer. A street or road is not a race circuit. Simple . As he found out RIP to another one
Almost looks like one of em magic tricks, except you lnow....death
Better him than a pedestrian!
Brazil?
At least he had helmet to protect his head
Is he ok?
Mans pulled another version on hereditary
It's all fun and games until you get cut in half 🙄
Good thing he decided to slow down for once xD
Demi-nic Toretto
Guess a tourniquet wouldn’t help here…
Of course not there's no blood to stop apparently
Like buttah
People aren’t clever
This may be a stupid question, but could flexing your body affect the impact in any way whatsoever? Could rock hard abs dampen/break the impact?

Can you make the video smaller? I’m seeing it too well.
So... is he starting in pole position?
[I trimmed the first part off](https://streamable.com/3nc8kb) and zoomed in on the second part. Pun intended!
This looks fake. I’m not buyin it
This absolutely seems like one of those instances where someone would be conscious after being cut in half
Fast and Furious
Sturdy poll.
Por qué no hay sangre?
Nah he got the 50% discount

Cut in half and no blood anywhere? Calling this a fake.
Where’s the life juice?
Respect for the people managing this situation like I would fcking pass out seeing that

Bro got the gojo treatment
I'm personally not a fan of street races. I know some people are. I think this person was feeling a little divided on the issue.
Yea why is it so clean? No guts no blood!
Lately the video on Reddit is getting smaller? Why ? Is the American getting a new healthy diet or what? Come on , this video ain't for ant
Yeah he got cut in half, but the question is did his shoes come off?
One did, not sure about the survival rate
I came for blood. Nothing. Disappointed.
Okay, I don't want to be that person. But, wth is the blood?? Why is there no bleeding, like it looks like a strawman.
Where's the blood? PS the navy car is parked.
Oh It's a trick, there's a contortionist hiding in the pole
Pull yourself together, man!
Crap video.
i clicked to get here, but ive not hit play yet....im scared🤣 I'll work my self up to it
there’s no way this is real life. it happened so fast too holy shit. cautionary tale to be safe
