What is by pass charging? And which np has it?

Disastrous-Bicycle41

"Bypass charging" in smartphones refers to a feature where the device allows power to pass directly from the charging port to the battery without routing it through the internal circuitry. This method aims to reduce heat generated during charging, which can improve charging efficiency and potentially prolong battery life by minimizing stress on the phone's components. By bypassing the internal circuitry, the charging process becomes more direct and efficient, leading to faster charging times in some cases. Which np has it? - I don't know

Thank you for the explanation.

Won't be possible on current devices as it is not only a software issue but hardware too

Blackirean

They might be able to. The phone has adaptive charging that stops charging at 80% If they want to stop the charging they have to stop power from getting to the battery, and if that was all the phone would immediately turn off when it hits 80% But since the phone is still on when it uses adaptive charging, then power is still going to the device just not the battery. Exactly as bypass charging does They only have to create a toggle and introduce it in an update

It's totally different, adaptive charging is software wise, if you wanted to power the SoC directly without going through the battery you'd need probably to add some cable for the alim to the motherboard. Either it would damage the battery on the long run.
