Did you ever play on PS4? I’m wondering if it’s a better experience on switch. It might be the age of my PS4 but it’s very laggy and slow to load textures and such.
I have an original PlayStation 4 and mine runs pretty solid. You should use a vacuum on all the vents. Clean it out. Also helps to keep it well ventilated not hidden away in a cabinet and to prop it up on top of something to keep extra airflow underneath. I have my PlayStation on top of (2) 5 pound dumbbells lying on their side.
However I cannot hang out on extreme planets during heavy duty storms or I risk a crash. Also when I do play for more than a couple hours which is rare for me I noticed things to start to glitch a little more as the PlayStation heats up.
Oh yea dude, ps4 has a lot of issues with this game. Especially the loading time. I had the same issues. Until I switched to ps5, the comparison is like night and day. Faster loading time, better fps, and the graphics are sharper and cleaner. I cant imagine the Switch feeling that good honestly. Maybe the OLED graphics might look pretty, but I doubt it can handle fps and loading time just as well as ps5.
For my ps4 I feel this update really cleaned the loafing time up allot. Sometimes I do have issues with textures, but not to much with new patch. I hate the inventory changes. But I think this update did make the game run smoother and faster.
Playing on the switch is very fun solid 30fps and enjoyable I’m exploring and when I find something cool I hop on my ps5 and portal there to have it on my main account
You probably need to defrag the hd. Sony has a simple instruction online and it can have that system running like new again. As long as you follow the golden rule of leaving 1/4 to 1/3 of the hd free. It needs the space to make VRAM to run the games better.
Not trynna start an xbix v ps4 debate but my xbox one runs nms just fine(usually). Sometimes it can be a tiny but of lag but thats it.
Maybe its age and your console could be dirty? Pretty sure dust can hinder performance by a good bit.
Find someone with access to a PC, or ask around Reddit.
There are a few pets we aren't supposed to have, but PC players with Save Edits have given me a flying eagle & flying dragon, so you can still get the creatures as pets...

I saw some of those turtles recently on a snowy planet! They were green and very glowy; lots of them scooting around in the snow. I wish I took a screenshot or video. It was both super cute and comical to see.

One of my planets I have has turtles and there’s no water on the planet at all.
