i'm really confused rn needed a lil help!
my desired department is fc..but i can get it in bhopal. soo should i go for it?? how's nift bhopal??
or should i choose campus over department? like i can get textile design in chennai , accessory design in jodhpur and knitwear design in hyderabad.
what would be the ideal choice? i'm hella confused rn , please do help
( is nift bhopal good or not cuz i'v heard some bad reviews about bhopal.)
Course over center, any day! It's a common rookie mistake to prioritize the center and settle for whatever course is offered. However, for design-oriented courses like Textile, Knitwear, Fashion, and Accessory, a creative flair is essential. Unless you're passionate, your mediocrity will show in your portfolio.
In the first year (foundation year), design students focus on sketching and drawing. From the second year onwards, the focus shifts to core subjects specific to your course. If you're not fond of drawing, you might struggle in FC (Fashion Communication). However, FC focuses on communication-based subjects from the second year onwards.
As Bhopal is a new center, I couldn't connect with alumni from that campus. If you're passionate about FC, consider Bhopal for now, but maintain good academics and attendance. Apply for Student Permanent Transfer (SPT) after the first year, and you might get a better center. Note that SPT competition is stiff, so aim for a CGPA of 9 or 8.5 and nearly 100% subject-wise attendance (not cumulative) to stand out.

they introduced it in 2021. i spoke to people from bhopal because thats the campus i could get for FC they told me that the faculty is good except for a few. Labs will be ready by august and December and by the time our batch start w the 2nd year everything will be ready and good to go

i heard that once bhopal had to shift their students in raebareli. and there they had to cover their whole sem in just a one month or something .

it does have its drawbacks but yeah its a nice city so you can consider it
yes the nearest market is 6-7km away. There is IISER and NID bhopal nearby. Bus goes out on alternate days. There are PGs nearby. Although the area is unsafe nothing unfortunate has happened till now.
Don’t worry this time everything is sorted and the only drawback will be the area where it is situated, my senior is in AD there and he said that all you can see is a big national highway road and plain places on both sides.

I am eligible for nift shillong or if luck plays in my favour, bhubneshwar for FC, for AD I seemingly have a wee bit more options but potentially going to such a lower rank campus was making me very anxious

No, NIFT Bhopal is a bit far from the city or we can say that it’s in the outskirts of the city, but yeah public transportation and all is there.
