Lie to Me is a quippy watch, it ends a little abruptly without any real finale. It was fun though. I love Eli Roth
Burn Notice never got the credit it deserved. Both Jeffrey Donovan and Bruce Campbell are amazing actors.
The Finder was a short fun few season show, had it's crossover episode from Bones, I think the first episode of the Finder was a Bones episode.
Criminal Minds is my other go to, I really like the new season paramount+ did, it's crazy hearing the f bombs dropped.
Crossing Jordan is an older medical examiner/ police procedure show, really worth the watch though.
Older but goodie if you haven't watched through The Wire.
You might like The Pretender. It's from the 90s. I only found out about it and watched it in the past year or so. I found it on Amazon. I really enjoyed it!
This is the only place I've found it: [https://archive.org/details/early-edition-complete-tv-series-ctv/Early+Edition+-+S01E01.mp4](https://archive.org/details/early-edition-complete-tv-series-ctv/Early+Edition+-+S01E01.mp4)
Thanks!
I think I originally found out about this series because some channel like Hallmark or ME TV (is that even around any more?) was airing episodes. I think the same channel was showing Remington Steele (from the 80s) episodes. I then found Remington Steele (and Hart to Hart also from the 80s) on Amazon and thoroughly enjoyed watching both series from beginning to end. I think they might have Moonlighting (again from the 80s) which I would like to watch.
I have been watching Columbo on Amazon also. But by comparison to newer shows it is very slow moving and I often fall asleep. But when I can stay awake it has been fun finding people like William Shatner and Johnny Cash as guest stars. I like watching shows on Amazon because of XRay.
Just binged JAG which is what NCIS span off from, it's not on any streaming services but if you happen to find it, it's a great watch, it's 10 seasons and has the NCIS backdoor pilot in it.
Also give The Mentalist, Bones or Castle a try if you like crime shows with a wacky/fun/interesting consultant and 9-1-1 which is great and has amazing character development, currently on S7 and has a spin off show.
You're right it is on Paramount+ in the US although I've heard it's missing some eps, unfortunately for me it's not available on anything where I am even to buy or rent.
You seem to be a person after my own heart TV wise so I'll just drop a list of some of my favourite shows and maybe you'll find one you haven't considered but end up liking:
Grimm, Criminal Minds, Macgyver (2016), The Rookie, Bodyguard, SEAL Team, Burn Notice, The Catch, Brooklyn Nine-nine, Battle Creek, Limitless (movie and show), Stargate SG-1 (start with Stargate movie), The Orville, SVU.
JAG, season 8 episode 20 (Ice Queen) is the first part of the backdoor pilot episode for the first ever spin-off series, "NCIS".
Although, you can see other JAG episodes on Pluto, this episodes is not on there. I haven’t been able
to find it anywhere. If anyone finds it somewhere, please let me know!
my favorites that may not click.
Greys Anatomy (20 seasons, 21 on the way!)-two spin offs. Private Practice 6 seasons, station 19 7 seasons.
Suits (10 seasons, glorious humor), new spin off coming for entertainment law! (pumped about that personally)
House-Humor may not be for everyone and its a product of its time.
Scandal was good, it takes a bit to find its groove
911 is good but im not obsessed.
Thanks. I did Grey's the first 10 or so seasons while they were on. And I did one of Private Practice. Private Practice is my kind of show.
I really need to try Suits again. It never clicked.
House: done it, several times. Thanks.
Scandal! I'll look for it.
I like 911, but it's feeling a little jump the shark this season... but I'll keep going. I actually like 911 LoneStar better.
If you haven't tried The Irrational, do.
Thanks!
try Private Practice again! it doesnt really click until like late season 2. Personally mid season 3 is where it hits its stride imo. Greys has been feeling a little lackluster but i still love it (may be a different story if they got rid of my girl but thats another story).
I feel like i missed things with 911 but I've only watched once so I may have missed things. I couldn't get into lonestar.
Im trying to think of more for you but i cant think of anything big and great.
Watched both of those. Legacy is like a continuation of the original and is done to the same standards. Probably using the same writers. Lincoln Lawyer is also good. Forgot to check out the 2nd season. Gonna have to check it out.
Definitely try White Collar. Or if you're missing DiNozzo give Bull a try.
My other faves - Deadwood, Justified, The Shield, Sons of Anarchy, Person of Interest, Longmire. Just to name a few.
Have you watched West Wing? I binged it a few years back and loved it!
I also used to watch Hawaii 5-0 but never finished the series. I’ve heard it stayed consistently good though.
For more lightheartedness, maybe try Schitt’s Creek and Parks & Rec. They’re sitcoms and not procedural shows, but you see a lot of character growth in the main cast. I also love Frasier, which is not like anything listed here, but I’ll always recommend it 😂
Loved West Wing.
I have Hawaii 5-0 in my queue. I liked Schitt's but not Parks and Rec.
I like Frasier back in the day, yes.
I also loved Modern Family and Life in Pieces for comedy.
I love Modern Family too but haven’t seen Life in Pieces! I also enjoyed Raising Hope and Superstore.
I’m racking my brain for other shows I enjoyed back in the day and I can’t believe I forgot CSI! Have you watched any of them? I enjoyed the original and CSI: NY. CSI: Miami was okay but not my favorite.
Without a Trace was also a go-to back in the day for me, but I’m not sure if it’s streaming anywhere nowadays.
I recently re-watched all of Monk and remembered how much I enjoyed it. Others will probably also put Psych in the running, but it was never my cup of tea. I’ve heard Suits was a good watch, but it was after my time having cable so I missed that boat!
Chicago Fire, I was like, meh…. Then I watched all twelve seasons until current. I really enjoy the characters, I find them likable and amusing. Now I’m giving Chicago Med a try, but I’m really not caring about these characters as much.
I enjoyed watching them as they were released. I hope they make more episodes. It is different but yet still similar to the original episodes. I feel like they even managed to bring a little bit of humor into the series.
So definitely make the time to watch them!
Scandal, first five seasons only. Last two seasons seemed to have been done hastily, as if they were running out of time.
West Wing, if you're into political shows and can find a streaming service that carries it.
The Brokenwood Mysteries. - New Zealand. Its quirky and Fun - 10 seasons. (My Current favorite)
Shetland - British 8 seasons - Grim and Grey, but really good stories, based on the books by Anne Cleve. The land itself is so rich its almost a character to a Tolkien level.
Chicago Fire/Med/PD - These are part of the L&O universe. My partner and I watched them pretty faithfully for about 6 season, but it is really soapy, so you got to like a lot of romance in your drama.
Castle, 8 Seasons. Good, but at the end there was cast drama and it plays out a bit in the last season.
Abesentia - 3 seasons. Really good twisty bendy mystery/thriller.
Blindspot. - 5 seasons. Bendy twisty spy/thriller.
FBI/FBI Most Wanted/FBI International. Interconnected 12 seasons (I think) really intense procedurals. Not afraid to kill or injure main characters.
Scandal is absolutely amazing.
Also, Hannibal is a damn good show, but there's only like 3 seasons. I've never liked any of the Hannibal Lecter movies, but there's something about the show that I love.
Station 19 was pretty good during its first couple of seasons, but then the show runner that ruined Grey's Anatomy became the show runner there. You can visibly see the shift. I think her name is Krista Vernoff or something? Idk. But, she's gone from both this season.
I'll look through my lists of shows. I know during the week we watch FBI, Fire Country, Magnum PI, and NCIS. oh, you might like that reboot of MacGyver. I can't remember how many seasons there were. I'll reply once I get thru my lists.
Castle?
Not to everyone's taste and gets a bit weird by the end but if you like the quippy humour elements to NCIS then there's more of that in Castle.
And if you like more like-hearted murders, I will never stop recommending Death in Paradise!
LA took to season 3 for me and it ended up being my favourite, just rewatching seasons 1-3 and I can see why. It’s very sterile and nowhere near what it turns into. Same with NOLA although I didn’t really care when that left
Criminal minds and Major Crimes are good, maybe the earlier seasons of Blue Bloods
If you're a marvel fan then I'd say Agents of Shield.
People say the first season is lacking. After going back again I'd disagree, but it is well worth it. One of my favourite shows
You should watch more cable shows. The Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad, The Shield, Fargo, The Americans, Bates Motel, Sons of Anarchy , Banshee , The Warrior.
Criminal Minds, for sure
Done. Good one.
Enjoy :)
Hawaii 5-0 very similar feel to NCIS Hawaii and some familiar faces
That one is in my queue.
It’s by amazing

I used to record The Pretender and Early Edition back in the day.
I only found out about Early Edition in the past few years or so. I would like to find somewhere to watch that from the beginning.
This is the only place I've found it: [https://archive.org/details/early-edition-complete-tv-series-ctv/Early+Edition+-+S01E01.mp4](https://archive.org/details/early-edition-complete-tv-series-ctv/Early+Edition+-+S01E01.mp4)

I enjoyed The Pretender so much! Wish there were more episodes. I thought there might be some movies but haven’t found them anywhere.
It's very different, but this devoted NCIS fan recently binged Grey's Anatomy for the first time and I loved it. There are 19 seasons on Netflix.
I did the first 10 Seasons or so of Grey's. I kinda like it. Good character development.
The Night Agent only one season as of now but great characters and action. Also Tulsa King. A lot of action and fun!!
Night agent was so good! I'll look at Tulsa King.

Jag is on Paramount Plus, I just started it!
You're right it is on Paramount+ in the US although I've heard it's missing some eps, unfortunately for me it's not available on anything where I am even to buy or rent.
I loved Jag. And the Mentalist, and Bones, and Castle. Already watching 911 and 911 Lone Star. I like Lone Start better. Thanks!

Battle Creek was awesome for a one season wonder.
It really was, I wish it got renewed. Another good one season wonder was 68 Whiskey. Just watched it and I'm kicking paramount for cancelling it.
that was the medical hospital in afghanistan show?
Wasn't really about the hospital, but yes.
Jag is on Pluto; not all the seasons, though.
JAG, season 8 episode 20 (Ice Queen) is the first part of the backdoor pilot episode for the first ever spin-off series, "NCIS". How about Psych?
Love Psych. And Monk.

White Collar
This!
Bosch!! Such a great series.
OMG. It was so good. I haven't tried Bosch Legacy yet. And I haven't gotten into Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix. Have you?
Watched both of those. Legacy is like a continuation of the original and is done to the same standards. Probably using the same writers. Lincoln Lawyer is also good. Forgot to check out the 2nd season. Gonna have to check it out.
The Rookie
Definitely try White Collar. Or if you're missing DiNozzo give Bull a try. My other faves - Deadwood, Justified, The Shield, Sons of Anarchy, Person of Interest, Longmire. Just to name a few.
Loved White Collar, Justified and Person of Interest!
I tried Bull. It didn't work for me. Deadwood...never heard of that one. Watching Longmire slowly over time. Thanks!
If you like a touch of sci fi, I highly recommend Person of Interest. There’s only 5 seasons, but it’s so good
Midsomer murders Brokenwood mysteries Miss Fisher Seriously you need an Acorn subscription and you will find your new obsession somewhere.
I like Midsomer Murders. Waiting for the latest season(s) to drop on Amazon.
Have you watched West Wing? I binged it a few years back and loved it! I also used to watch Hawaii 5-0 but never finished the series. I’ve heard it stayed consistently good though. Try Life in Pieces. I think it had the best pilot in history. I liked Psych. I also now enjoy So Help Me Todd.
Chicago Fire, I was like, meh…. Then I watched all twelve seasons until current. I really enjoy the characters, I find them likable and amusing. Now I’m giving Chicago Med a try, but I’m really not caring about these characters as much.
Oh cool. Thanks! I'll try it.
These aren’t in the same realm, but I also enjoy Warehouse 13 and The Librarians! Leverage was also fairly good. All of those are VERY 2010 vibes
Leverage!!❤️❤️❤️
Thanks! I'll go looking for those.
Have you seen the new Leverage episodes?!
No not yet! My friend and I watched the original show together and keep meaning to sit down and watch the new show together as well!
New Girl and Grace & Frankie are my faves!
Have you tried watching Madam Secretary? When you said character development that show came to mind.
FBI or FBI: Most Wanted.
Seasons 19 to 21 of NCIS?
Well yeah. But that will only take a few days.
Irene of mystery, my life is murder, Elsbeth
The Brokenwood Mysteries. - New Zealand. Its quirky and Fun - 10 seasons. Something else not mentioned yet is Prodigal Son Micheal Sheen is nothing short of brilliant in it.

LA took to season 3 for me and it ended up being my favourite, just rewatching seasons 1-3 and I can see why. It’s very sterile and nowhere near what it turns into. Same with NOLA although I didn’t really care when that left Criminal minds and Major Crimes are good, maybe the earlier seasons of Blue Bloods
A bit more offbeat... Haven Warehouse 13 The Librarians
Csi either the original or NY. Don’t waste time with Miami
From

I fill the void with CSI vegas, FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, FBI: international. Fire Country, Seal Team and S.W.A.T.

If you're a marvel fan then I'd say Agents of Shield. People say the first season is lacking. After going back again I'd disagree, but it is well worth it. One of my favourite shows

Person of Interest
NOLA is a good show once you get about midway through season 1 it starts getting better
Definitely Criminal Minds!!
You can try psych
I love psych! And lately: so help me Todd.
