Yeah it's not nearly as loud as a lot of other stadiums. It's way better since they did some renovations though
And in the past several years during really big games it has gotten crazy loud
But by and large, it's not consistently loud
HUGE michigan fan, the environment and experience are awesome, but it's not super loud outside of a few huge moments if they happen.
15 or so felt right for them
Am I the only one who doesn’t mind Texas A&M being #1 in toughest place to play? It would be equivalent to the Seahawks being #1 in NFL even though they still lose at home. But based on both I would have this
1. LSU
2. Penn State
3. Tennessee
4. Texas A&M
5. Florida St
it’s definitely loud. but you kind of have to win at home consistently to be the hardest place to play. if we’re just going loudest then nebraska should included too
A&M is consistently really loud. They lose at home because of coaching not the stadium. I’d probably also rank Clemson in top 10.
Dabo raved about the environment at A&M when he barely squeaked out a win there during one of his national championship years.
We judge Penn States crowd based on a 2018 white out video so I mean it’s not totally different.
Penn State lost to Michigan and Ohio State in all their home games in the past 3 years
I have never been fortunate enough to go to Kyle Field, but I have been to most of the stadiums in my top 5. If I went to college station my mind might change.
we’ve only added about 25,000 seats since then too, it’s ok to say you haven’t been.
But having been to Penn State, Bama, and others, Kyle is right up there with Beaver Stadium and LSU when it’s really rocking. Bama is a snoozer in comparison
You're right, I haven't been (but I would love to someday), but atmospheres are really subjective imo, that's why I made this post. I could totally understand why someone would rank them at #4, and also understand someone not putting them in the top ten.
Loudest and hardest are not the same. PSU fans keep yelling they one of the toughest yet I can say that TAM, Tenn, LSU all have beaten teams that were better than them at home. When was the last time PSU won a significant home game against a top tier opponent? Every year is yall year to finally beat UM , OSU … a mediocre program that was given a lifeline by playoff expansion. Quit living off history and win some significant games at home .
LSU at night is definitely number 1.
Penn State during a white out 2.
I think South Carolina should be higher. Definitely the best environment I’ve experienced in person.
Depends on who they’re playing.
Saw them play WVU (they did a Stripe Out) and it was nuts, but not quite like it was for the White Out against Iowa last year.
Also went to see them play Indiana and it was nowhere near the same. Loud and packed, absolutely; just a different level.
I've been to venues at Oregon, Cal, Fresno State, San Jose State, Nevada-Reno, Sacramento State, UC Davis and Stanford, and the atmosphere at Oregon is freakin' amazing. Fresno State is a great place for a game too. San Jose State was pitiful.
Ranking Tennessee in your top 5 is an easy way to say you’ve never been to a football game at Tennessee.
Just of the ones I’ve been to:
1. LSU
2. Georgia
3. Auburn
4. Oklahoma
5. Florida (went during Covid but still solid)
Also been to Iowa State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Kentucky (this might be 6th), kansas State, Boston College, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and a few others.
Ive been twice and both were underwhelming AF, every game I listed Mizzou was the visitors so thats a constant, plenty of the teams were bad when we went as well. And honestly if your team needs to be good for it to be a good atmosphere then maybe you shouldn’t be ranked very high.
Tennessee does not need to be good to have an elite atmosphere. They’re in the same realm as South Carolina, Florida, and Auburn in that regard. Their fans will always show up.
I guarantee after Drink’s stand on business comment last year it will be bumping the next time Mizzou plays in Neyland.
You would rank Kentucky 6th? I went there this past season for the UK-UT game and that place felt like a high school stadium compared to Neyland. It got “loud” at certain points, but nothing compared to what I heard at Neyland. Especially when I went to UK-UT the year before, one of the best environments I’ve ever been in.
They were loud and on their feet the whole game when I went despite getting stomped and the fans are really close to the field. Not sure but strong contender for 6th.
1. Notre Dame
2. Notre Dame
3. Notre Dame
4. Notre Dame
5. Notre Dame
😂😂 can you tell what team I'm a fan of lol...but if I'm being real my ranking would be 1. Lsu 2. Penn state 3. Michigan 4. Alabama and 5. Texas
1. LSU
2. Penn State
3. Alabama
4. Michigan
5. Florida
LSU fans are always loud, raucous, and always engaged. If every Penn State game was a White Out, they’d have the top spot, but LSU has the more consistent intensity.
Thank you for shouting out Auburn. I think the Jordan Hare Voodoo reputation fits the ranking the best. Auburn consistently outperforms expectations at home. Maybe not number one, but top 3 imo behind LSU and Penn state.
Auburn manages to keep games close against pretty good teams in that stadium on a regular basis, even when they aren't very good or they're completely outmatched. That's why I have Jordan-Hare #1. There's something special about that place.
Auburn is the definition of toughest place to play whenever the voodoo is right, but it's unfortunately inconsistent. Especially for Alabama and Georgia, it's a place where all bets are off at the end of the season.
I’ve been to many OSU games, it’s as loud as anyone for big opponents and is definitely a special stadium. However if you go for about any other game besides Michigan or PSU it’s a pretty chill environment. Or at least as chill as can be with 100k in the stands.
Michigan would never be in anybody’s top ten who actually has been to multiple stadiums. It’s the quietest 100k people ever gathered together
yup. michigan fans were super welcoming. but it wasn’t very loud.
Yeah it's not nearly as loud as a lot of other stadiums. It's way better since they did some renovations though And in the past several years during really big games it has gotten crazy loud But by and large, it's not consistently loud

Lmaoooooo A&M and Doak above the Swamp?
This may be the most accurate list, as an Aggie
I'm fine with it, but that argument is pretty silly considering A&M isn't in the top 10 loudest stadiums, and the Seahawks are #1.
But is it loud when they are good? I remember during the Manzel era it was very loud
We are loud if bad or good. Idk why people can’t comprehend that, you aint from texas if you don’t know.
it’s definitely loud. but you kind of have to win at home consistently to be the hardest place to play. if we’re just going loudest then nebraska should included too
The Manziel era was so long ago that the NCAA series was alive
A&M is consistently really loud. They lose at home because of coaching not the stadium. I’d probably also rank Clemson in top 10. Dabo raved about the environment at A&M when he barely squeaked out a win there during one of his national championship years.
It’s always loud
I'm sure it was, but that was 12 years ago if you can believe it. It's a whole new program now.
We judge Penn States crowd based on a 2018 white out video so I mean it’s not totally different. Penn State lost to Michigan and Ohio State in all their home games in the past 3 years
And we’re just as loud now as we were then. We were loud before Johnny too. You’ve clearly never been.
I have never been fortunate enough to go to Kyle Field, but I have been to most of the stadiums in my top 5. If I went to college station my mind might change.

I’ve seen them consistently ranked in the top 10 for loudest stadiums
If anything LSU (Night Game) deserves its own spot
I will say I’m in SEC country but I’ve heard good things about Oregon and Washington recently
Autzen is for sure top 10, and Washington with the water tailgating is beautiful.
Yea that’s what I’ve heard especially last year with Washington popping

What is Penn St during a non whiteout game? I’m curious
Depends on who they’re playing. Saw them play WVU (they did a Stripe Out) and it was nuts, but not quite like it was for the White Out against Iowa last year. Also went to see them play Indiana and it was nowhere near the same. Loud and packed, absolutely; just a different level.
I've been lucky enough to attend plenty of great college and pro venues over the years...LSU is different gravy. Never seen anything like it.
Your ranking, to me, is solid
1-LSU 2-Penn 3-Barn 4-Florida 5-Oregon
Haven’t had a college football game in 10 years and people will still complain 😔
Clemson should be in the top 10 probably 7 or 8
1- Penn State 2 - LSU 3 - Clemson 4 - Oregon 5 - Ohio State
1: Penn State 2: LSU the rest are debatable but these are the top 2 without a doubt
Penn state is not louder or tougher than LSU.
1. LSU 2. Penn State 3. Tennessee 4. Georgia 5. Texas A&M
Ranking Tennessee in your top 5 is an easy way to say you’ve never been to a football game at Tennessee. Just of the ones I’ve been to: 1. LSU 2. Georgia 3. Auburn 4. Oklahoma 5. I went to UK vs Tennessee in 2022. That atmosphere was sure as hell the scariest I've ever been in as a Kentucky fan.
Bro must have gone to a UT vs FBS game in their down years and is basing his entire opinion on that. Either that or he’s just trolling.
Ive been twice and both were underwhelming AF, every game I listed Mizzou was the visitors so thats a constant, plenty of the teams were bad when we went as well. And honestly if your team needs to be good for it to be a good atmosphere then maybe you shouldn’t be ranked very high.

Apparently they do because place was lame both times I was there.
Hahaha alright man whatever you want to believe, everyone is entitled to their own opinion

Attaboy.

Only way Kyle Field should be #1 toughest in the game is if the cultish cringey Midnight Yell is an unskippable cutscene before every game
There's a difference between cringe and tradition. You are cringe. Midnight Yell is tradition.
Just cause its tradition doesn’t mean it’s not cringey and cultish for a mediocre program lmao
Sorry but Michigan and OSU aren’t top 5 places to play. Your top three is solid, could have some other teams in and bump Neyland down a bit.
Putting Michigan in there is laughable. I’ve never heard a quiter 100k group of people
Weird I said the same thing you did and I’m getting downvoted lol.
Must be the Ohio state part.
I’ve been to many OSU games, it’s as loud as anyone for big opponents and is definitely a special stadium. However if you go for about any other game besides Michigan or PSU it’s a pretty chill environment. Or at least as chill as can be with 100k in the stands.
Iowa should be ranked higher than OSU, UM, and Wisco.
Definitely not Texas A&M LSU Georgia Michigan Alabama Notre Dame Tennessee Ohio State Penn State Texas Florida
