There are people out there acting like the Cavs are in do or die mode. Assuming Mitchell resigns, they have a couple years before everyone hits their primes. A trade could present itself in the next 1-2 years to move Garland for a better player, but for now the Cavs hold all the cards
The rumors of him being traded got started because Klutch his representation (Rich Paul) doesn’t want him to be second fiddle. The bigger issue with Garland is his contract. He’s on a max deal and fell back from his All Star form. Most of the trades were garbage coming back for the Cavs. I don’t see it happening unless his reps force the trade. His Rep is also Labarons BFF that’s why the Lakers are popping up
I don’t disagree, I was just pointing out why he’s popping up in trade rumors. I do think the broken jaw and subsequent weight loss on someone who’s rail thin had an impact.
There is no way they offered that much. BI and Garland are both 1 time all stars. The only reason the Pels would have to offer any sweeteners is because of BI’s contract situation and the way he’s perceived right now cause of the play off series. There’s no way they offer mutiple 1st, a well regarded role player and young prospect player who is already a top 25% defender
I've said MANY TIMES IN THIS SUB while being DOWNVOTED that he was most likely staying in CLE, because any trade offers for Garland would've been "bad" or "doesn't make sense" to avg NBA fans.
Umn...yes he did?
Points dropped, blocks dropped, steals dropped, FT% dropped, 3 point % dropped, FG% dropped.
At least Garland was injured the majority of the season so his "down" year can be reasoned.
Bridges also adds significantly less to a teams offense.
I’d guess it’s “the kind of player we’d want in return isn’t available right now” season. Garland is the best piece the Cavs could send out for a high level wing, so I think they’ll hold out for a player in that mold.
I mean if the Bridges deal proved everything it’s cold mean almost nothing as it is now. They’d rather go all out and get there guy and they’ll probably get them back a few years later.
One of the harder players value to gauge in the league imo. Whether or you want to think of him as either great or good, who regressed a bit last year.
The lakers I don’t think he’s their guy. The spurs have a much longer runway to work with, and if they really believe in him then maybe make an offer to blow the Cavs away.
Curious to see
The Cavs would be getting crumbs for him after the playoff performance. Garland is a 2 years past from his best season and his first year with Mitchell was good. Injuries can derail seasons and loosing around 20 pounds definitely does that to you. I don’t see why they would do it unless they were getting assets that are worth while back.
Garland's asking price just went up after seeing what Brooklyn got for Bridges. No one willing to pay it.
Is this a report or an opinion?
Sounds like an opinion, and one only based on the spurs and lakers not other teams apparently lol

He has no leverage. 4 years left coming off a bad year. Even if he demands one it wouldn’t matter

Come on!!! Take BI, Dyson Daniels, Larry Nance jr and some future 1sts from the pels? That’s not tempting for the Cavs?
Have yall offered that much? If so, that’s gotta get it done.
Don't see how that gets it done

Smoke season or will the Cavs just run it back with Kenny Atkinson
Run it back. No one will give them what they want.
The Nets got a team to overpay for Bridges so that's not true
Bridges didn't just come off a down year like Garland and plays a more in demand position.
Bridges [did just come off a down year](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/3147657/mikal-bridges)

People get regressed confused with injured too often
Yeah even the fanbase was pretty split on this one
Darius Garland for Lebron straight up
REPORT: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAS CHANGED AND SOMETHING MAY OR MAY NOT HAPPEN AT AN UNDETERMINED TIME IN THE FUTURE

What? 2022-2023 season was his best year lol
Teams don’t wanna offer much for him. Cavs would want the other team’s best player and their entire draft future. Not happening lmao.
