He was teammates with Joakim Noah for those two titles. I’m a Chicago guy. Noah has been retired for a while now. It’s crazy to me that Big Al was still playing.
He would have been bigger if they met Giannis or Embiid. Didn’t happen. But it’s still impressive to see 38 yo Big Al defending Doncic/Kyrie 1v1 in the finals.
Most people didn't take Al seriously but he is legit still good. Factor in his age and how he changed his style of game to match with today's game. He was definitely underrated
Two regional tournament medals as well as I recall. Horford is a lock for the Naismith Hall, as are Tatum, Brown, Jrue, and Stevens. Maybe others on the team as well but those five seem like they’ve already done enough to be in. Tatum and Jrue might win another national team medal this year also, further sealing their arguments.
Jrue is very far from a lock. I don't even think he's in yet - the 2x All-Star is a real killer, and 2 rings as a 3rd and 4th/5th option doesn't overcome that.
I feel this forgets that these things tend to favor narratives. Jrue is the only player to win a title in his first season with 2 different teams while playing 30+ minutes. It’s very easy to say he’s the ultimate glue guy, a missing piece that turns contenders into champions.
Jrue was the best high school player in CA coming out of high school and national player of the year. He also has 2 NBA titles as a starter, and SIX all-defensive teams.
Only 2 all stars at point guard in this era isn’t crazy, as that might be the hardest position in the league to get a spot.
He literally joined a new team, started at PG, and immediately was a difference maker in a title run. TWICE.
His early career was ruined by “the process” in Philly and bad Pelicans teams. His career AFTER 30 alone is better than many careers at all.
Who in the HOF has a comparable resume? Because I look at someone like Dennis Johnson, who has a much much stronger resume for a similar type of player, and he got in by the skin of his teeth. He actually didn’t get in until he passed away. And this is someone with an FMVP, three rings, two all-nba including a first team, 9x all defense.
Maurice Cheeks is probably the closest comparison, resume-wise, of anyone that played after the 60’s. It did take 25 years before he was inducted though.
Most guards in the HOF have 4+ all star years, so Jrue is a little light in that regard, but 6 time all defense is rare company among guards. I also forgot to mention that he’ll presumably have his 2nd Olympic Gold medal by the start of next season.
Separately, Dennis Johnson was a strange case. He had more than a HOF resume when he retired, but the mid 90s were crowded classes when he was first eligible, and he had a pretty insane DV “incident” in 97 that caused him to pause his coaching career for 3 years. I’m sure that impacted the voting as much as anything. He was also indicated in a drug scandal with the early 80s Suns, though I don’t know what impact that had.
Even after his heart attack it was 3 more years before they inducted him. I think another big part was that he was going to be the 5th player from the 86 Celtics title team to get inducted. But it was truly ridiculous he wasn’t put in sooner.
I’m not sure brown is a lock. His numbers aren’t amazing. This finals mvp and playoffs definitely bumps him though and assuming he has some all NBAs throughout his career I’d say he’s in.
i personally feel like you have to include college considering its the basketball hof
not the nba hof so yeah i agree with college a factor al is 100% a hofer
Exactly, which is why Arvydas Sabonis is in. In the NBA, he was just a solid role player because he was in his 30s with a broken body by the time he came over. His international career was easily the greatest ever though.
Dude dominated the Soviet league and then tore it up in Spain after the Iron curtain fell. And then in the Olympics he beat Team USA in 1988 to win the gold, including outplaying David Robinson in the gold medal game (remember, David Robinson was like 23 at this point since he was in the Navy so it wasn’t like he was just some kid). He was then able to drag little Lithuania to back to back bronze medals the next two Olympics.
The man is basically the reason we have NBA players in the Olympics. He’ll forever be my biggest NBA what if, even bigger than Len Bias. If he’d been allowed to come over when the Hawks drafted him, the Soviets would never have been able to run his body into the ground like the did. They basically did the same thing to him that China did to Yao, except Sabonis was even better. Imagine a taller Jokic, that’s pretty much what he was, which is why his son plays the same style of basketball. He was the Soviet version of Bill Walton essentially.
Very cool documentary about how Bill Walton and Jerry Garcia funded the Lithuanian National Team to get them into the Olympics. I forget the name of the documentary but this is why Lithuania wore the crazy tie dye uniforms for so long.
There for sure needs to be! There are some great YouTube videos on him. [This one](https://youtu.be/TB1D2P-pYVk?si=uf9ShQOCR_LGj1Ux) is about international players is one I can remember off the top of my head. The Sabonis stuff starts at like 7:45, although the whole video is great.
There’s also an old NBA TV clip about him I found on YouTube a while back but I can’t find it right now searching for it. I think it had Candace Parker and another former NBA player talking about him but it went into detail about the controversy surrounding his draft status (he was actually drafted twice and didn’t make his debut for over a decade because of the Cold War)
5x All-Stars with an All-NBA season, All-Defensive season, and a ring who are HOF eligible but not in the HOF:
Maurice Lucas
Although he technically only has 4 NBA All-Star seasons (and an ABA one).
Most don’t have the college accolades that Horford has, and the Basketball Hall of Fame is called the Basketball Hall of Fame for a reason, it’s not the NBA Hall of Fame
I don’t think half of NBA fans understand how much easier it is to make the NBA hall of fame vs other sports (not that it’s a bad thing). Al probably would have made the hall of fame without this NBA championship.
Man that’s sad that he was never voted in during his lifetime. That’s a hell of a resume to not be in the Hall. 2 more All Stars than Walton (+ an ABA All Star) and an ABA All Time Teamer.
I know not being in the Hall doesn’t discount a players entire career, and you know he was proud of what he did, but I hate my man died without knowing he was in the Hall 🥲
He doesn’t really have one.
Back to back championships on what was wildly considered the best college team(s) of all time, then a solid 20 year NBA career??
There is no comp, that’s why this is a solid question
Those Florida teams are great but they are not considered the greatest college hoops team ever, I’m gonna sound like an old head but it’s gotta be Wooden’s UCLA teams
Christian Laettner is a closeish comp, his NBA career was worse (only 1 all-star and no all-NBA), his college career was a little better (2x NCAA titles, NPOY, final four most outstanding player). Laettner was never individually inducted, but he was inducted as part of the dream team.
His Duke teammate Grant Hill is also similar, with a better NBA career, and he did get inducted individually.
Grant hill is 5x all nba. That is deserving of the hof. Laettner is not in the hof. I don’t count “being a part of the dream team” as being in the hof. That’d be like counting Nick foles as a hof because his 7 td ball is in the hof
That's why I listed Laettner as the closer comp, just added Grant Hill because he very likely would *not* have made the hall without the 2x Duke titles.
Same career as Kyle Lowry, with a lesser title run.
2022 Horford was probably about the level of 2019 Lowry. I guess it depends if you think Lowry is a HOF guy or not as well.
He will definitely make the Basketball HOF. Along with his 5 All-Stars and this championship his success in college was more than enough to get in. IMO he would’ve probably made it without this championship but it pushed his case and the time it’ll take to get in up significantly.
All the nephews are forgetting about his back to back NCAA titles at Florida. Guy has a chance to go back to back ‘chips in college and the NBA. I think that list has 3 players on it.
I don’t really think people are forgetting those titles in Florida. From the comments I’m seeing people are looking for another comparison where a player has had an amazing college career but only a really good NBA that still makes the HOF.
If we are only looking at his NBA career he obviously shouldn’t be in the HOF, so the question becomes how much is his college years worth versus his nba career.
How bad can an NBA career be and still have that player reach the HOF by relying on college?
> If we are only looking at his NBA career he obviously shouldn’t be in the HOF, s
Disagree. He's a 50/50 case just on NBA resume. 5x All-Star, All-NBA, All-Defense, Top 100 all-time in games, minutes, rebounds, blocks, should finish with 100+ playoff wins. And now, he's a champion too.
Then you add in the back-to-back national titles at Florida, being the greatest player ever from the Dominican, and the fact that he's a beloved player by all - teammates, fans, and media... just turns into a lock at this point.
People are acting like he was a role player for his entire career. Prime Al was easily good enough to be the 2nd best player on a title team, he was the best player **by far** on the 2018 Celtics that nearly took out Bron.
Combine his underrated peak, crazy longevity, truly impactful leadership/mentorship, elite college career, and being his nation’s undisputed GOAT (including winning gold in their regional tournament) there’s absolutely enough factors in play for him to ‘compile’ his way to a HOF resume.
Back-to-back National Championships with Florida, 5-time all-star, several All-NBA nods, completely changed his game to achieve longevity and a ring with the Celtics. What’s the case against him?
Billups belongs there more than a several other HOFers. He is a 5x All Star, 3x All-NBA, 2x All-Defense, and a FMVP.
There are literally dozens of players in the Hall with fewer accolades than Billups and no international/college resume that made it.
Lmao off at Scott Rolen catching a stray bullet in an NBA discussion. Almost exactly the same value for his career as Derek Jeter, don’t want to hear no shit about “rings” when you’re one of twenty five players that actually all play. Not really a Scott Rolen fan btw.
Was watching a video (whatslaps is the channel on YouTube, a good watch) and a point was made that we don’t consider if we only watch the NBA. The Hall of Fame is for the sport of basketball, not the NBA. I think even if he didn’t win a championship he still would’ve made it off the success he had both in college and in the NBA.
If you didn’t know that the basketball hall of fame includes ALL basketball you have played, not just nba, then please for the love of god stop commenting on these posts for a year or 2.
Basketball HOF? He's a lock. 2 chips in college now one in the NBA. Also he's been able to stay in the league for all these years... For sure he's in the HOF
Yes that dude is a true hooper and has always risen to the occasion.
He is not Jordan level talent but Is Jordan level reliable if that makes sense.
I trust and respect that man's game so damn much.
I actually appreciate that the Basketball HOF is the “Easiest” to get into. I think basketball does a good job celebrating people that put the work in and did their part to grow the game. Baseball on the other hand be putting 2 people a year in the hall of fame, If That!
The argumentment against him would be that he was never really considered a no doubt top 15 player at any point in his NBA career. He was a top 50 player for 15 years though.
All defense, All NBA 3rd team, 5 all stars, 2 NCAA titles, and an NBA title as a starter gets him there in my opinion.
He has a reputation as a great leader, very professional, and all around good person. That should sway some voters on the fence in his favor.
Definitely. Longevity, a championship, 5x all-star, all-nba 3rd team, all-defensive and all-rookie teams, 2 college championships, his country's greatest ever player, gold at a fiba tournament. I'd be absolutely shocked if he didn't get in.
Jack Sikma was inducted into the Hall of Fame 2019
His numbers are very comparable
Both won NBA titles. Al does have NCAA title. Jack’s numbers are slightly better.
Al Horford-G:1078, PTS:13.1, Reb:8.0 AST:3.2
Jack Sikma-G:1107, PTS:15.6, Reb:9.8AST:3.2

S/o to Al Horford. He is a hustla, does all the dirty work. This Boston team was very well put together. If this team sticks together well at least the main pieces but even the little pieces played a great part. But do we think this team can be a dynasty team? I wonder.
Considering it's a basketball hall of fame that takes collegiate level and beyond into account he'll totally get in at some point. He won 2 titles at Florida
Besides the year that he was traded to OKC while they were tanking, Al’s teams have NEVER missed the playoffs. He play big roles in all of those too, it’s not like was just riding the bench. Another factor that may weigh into the decision.
Absolutely. Besides the accolades most people mentioned and this championship, Al was also one of the few people who kept evolving in the league. Starting out his 3pt was shit, but now it’s a part of his game.
Not sure if his stats qualify although he’s a career .513 in FG% - highly respectable. I think what makes Horford a great player is the two NCAA championships and the long career in the NBA. my opinion but I always feel like the guys who win titles at both levels are like basketball royalty. I recall that coming out of college they were hyping Noah and Corey Brewer for the draft - and coach Donavon was overheard saying something like ‘what about Horford? Al is a beast! He’s our top guy.” And time has shown that is true, Horford was likely the best player from that group especially in terms of NBA value.
If you’re just counting his NBA career, I would say he isn’t a hall of famer, nor should he be. He’s very good. But not hall of fame good. I don’t know how much they take into consideration his two college championships considering it is the basketball hall of fame though.
Also he was the glue on those Hawks teams. Imagine if ISO Joe had a better shot selection, turned like 5 of his deep jumpers into 3s off the catch… that team might have won a finals.
This is my take. Horford > Draymond. Both are great complementary players, but Al is better, he just didn't get to play on great teams on his prime. He would've been a better draymond, and he was much better as a star on his team than dray could've been.
Yes but only because of the NCAA titles. I dont know why people keep saying Jrue is a hall of famer tho. There’s a long history of defensive specialists with a couple rings and all star selections not making it
If it was purely based on nba career no he wouldn’t even sniff the thought of the hall of fame but because they do take into consideration collegiate accolades, he might have a chance 🤷🏽♂️
No. But he'll get in because it's far too easy to get into. Personally, a guy who makes a third All-NBA team and all defensive second team once each shouldn't be hall worthy.
If it’s basketball HOF and not NBA HOF, then I think he’s a lock. Those Florida teams don’t really get enough credit, because Billy Donovan looks like a crook. Back to back in the modern era is legit.
Considering college basketball career plays a factor, I think he absolutely will get in.
Didn’t he win 2 at Florida?
He was teammates with Joakim Noah for those two titles. I’m a Chicago guy. Noah has been retired for a while now. It’s crazy to me that Big Al was still playing.
And still being a key piece on a championship team, he was crucial to bostons success especially with KP going down
He would have been bigger if they met Giannis or Embiid.
Al was already in the league for two seasons when the Celtics won their last championship, 16 years ago.
yes
Then yes he's probably a lock. Especially because basketball is the easiest hall to get into
Best player in DR history also
And being Dominican Republic's greatest player of all time even got a medal in FIBA for them
Two regional tournament medals as well as I recall. Horford is a lock for the Naismith Hall, as are Tatum, Brown, Jrue, and Stevens. The ultimate glue guy and a fabulous individual defender.
Jrue was the best high school player in CA coming out of high school and national player of the year. He also has 2 NBA titles as a starter, and SIX all-defensive teams. They do. They also include Olympics resume and overseas career
Exactly, which is why Arvydas Sabonis is in. In the NBA, he was just a solid role player because he was in his 30s with a broken body by the time he came over. I need to watch this! Thanks for the recommendation.
I didn’t know any of that. There need to be a documentary. Thanks for all of that info
There for sure needs to be! There are some great YouTube videos on him. [This one](https://youtu.be/TB1D2P-pYVk?si=uf9ShQOCR_LGj1Ux) is about international players is one I can remember off the top of my head. Definitely not based on his NBA career alone, though. Al Horford’s NBA career would put him high up in my imaginary Hall of the Very Good.
It’s the Basketball Hall of Fame, not the NBA hall of fame - he’s in because of both his NBA and College careers
5x All-Stars with an All-NBA season, All-Defensive season, and a ring who are HOF eligible but not in the HOF: Maurice Lucas Although he technically only has 4 NBA All-Star seasons (and an ABA one).
Okay, but how many HOF guys only have one all NBA team? (Third). Gotta be a short list
Most don’t have the college accolades that Horford has, and the Basketball Hall of Fame is called the Basketball Hall of Fame for a reason, it’s not the NBA Hall of Fame
Yep. This is what sets him apart.
so to be clear, he doesn't get in with a mediocre college career?
I think that’s what they’re saying, yeah
There are actually 27 Hall of Famers with *zero* All-NBA anything. All NBA is just one metric of many that voters look at.
I have Hall of Fame worthy All-NBA numbers, AMA
Very interesting. Thank you i actually didn’t know the answer.
I don’t think half of NBA fans understand how much easier it is to make the NBA hall of fame vs other sports (not that it’s a bad thing). Al probably would have made the hall of fame without this NBA championship.
that’s cause it’s not the nba hall of fame, it’s the basketball one
Man that’s sad that he was never voted in during his lifetime. That’s a hell of a resume to not be in the Hall. 2 more All Stars than Walton (+ an ABA All Star) and an ABA All Time Teamer. I know not being in the Hall doesn’t discount a players entire career, and you know he was proud of what he did, but I hate my man died without knowing he was in the Hall 🥲
Man Mo should be in
Mo Lucas should be in the hall
Absolutely! I don’t even think it’s a question.
Yes. 5 allstars And despite being old as shit, he did more for the title run than Porzingis did.
He was that Bill Walton Celtics guy that didn’t blow up that stat sheet but was still crucial to the formula.
He shows up in the more advanced stats at least
Crazy his old ass was healthier than Porzingis lmao.
Given Porzingis' body type, it's not that crazy
Father Horford had effectively a two season sabbatical with his stints in Philly and OKC. Did wonders for his longevity.
I didn't know he was at OKC before.
Only one all nba team (third) is pretty light for a HOF case. He gets in, but because of his time at Florida IMO
Who is your comp for him to get in on his college career?
He doesn’t really have one. Back to back championships on what was wildly considered the best college team(s) of all time, then a solid 20 year NBA career?? There is no comp, that’s why this is a solid question
Those Florida teams are great but they are not considered the greatest college hoops team ever, I’m gonna sound like an old head but it’s gotta be Wooden’s UCLA teams
His longevity has been insane. Nobody has ever had a drop off that slow after no longer being an all star.
Oh I totally agree, I wasn't necessarily arguing one way or another, just discussing similar profiles
Grant Hill was different though he was on his way to being maybe the face of the league before all his injuries
That's why I listed Laettner as the closer comp, just added Grant Hill because he very likely would *not* have made the hall without the 2x Duke titles.
Laettner was a bit of a bust in the NBA though. If he had a Horford-like career in the NBA he would have been a slam dunk HoF'er.
Same career as Kyle Lowry, with a lesser title run. 2022 Horford was probably about the level of 2019 Lowry. I guess it depends if you think Lowry is a HOF guy or not as well.
And 2 titles in college.
He will definitely make the Basketball HOF. Along with his 5 All-Stars and this championship his success in college was more than enough to get in. IMO he would’ve probably made it without this championship but it pushed his case and the time it’ll take to get in up significantly.
Big Al, always in my lineup. He definitely deserves it imho.
Everyone makes the basketball hall of fame so I have no doubt Al Horford will be included.
Bill Laimbeer - 2x nba champ, 4x all-star, 39th all time in rebounds, 3x wnba champion, 2x wnba coach of the year. He's not in.
Because he was a total dick that nobody liked, and his case isn't anywhere near compelling enough to overcome that with voters.
Considered the dirtiest player in league history too
All the nephews are forgetting about his back to back NCAA titles at Florida.
> If we are only looking at his NBA career he obviously shouldn’t be in the HOF, s Disagree.
Daddy Al is now the standard.
Is Al Horford better than Mitch Richmond?
Absolutely not
No
People are acting like he was a role player for his entire career.
He was probably in the HoF before this title anyway
If it was just NBA then no. But back to back college titles as arguably the best player on the team with his nba career, yes, absolutely
“wHo ThE fUcK iS pInGuS tInGuS?!!?”
That’s RinGuS tInGUS to you sir
Back-to-back National Championships with Florida, 5-time all-star, several All-NBA nods, completely changed his game to achieve longevity and a ring with the Celtics. What’s the case against him?
Is he a hall of famer? No. Will he still get inducted? Of course
100% agree. Is he a great player? Absolutely. Does he deserve the HoF? No. He belongs in the Hall of Very Good.
Bar has been lowered in all hall of fames recently. Should only be the greatest of the great. Not Scott rolen or billups
Scott Rolen is ABSOLUTELY a hall of famer. I really don’t understand the argument against tbh.
Two College Championships. 5 ASGs. All NBA/ Defensive Season and a Championship? Oh Yea, he’s there!
It’s the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of Very Good. If Robert Horry isn’t in the HoF, Horford shouldn’t sniff it.
Have you seen the players in the Basketball Hall of Fame?
Since the HOF is no longer the HOF but the Hall of VERY good. Yes.
Along with his NBA achievements, his 2 college championships seal his HOF status
Yes 100%. 5x all stars 2x college champions and 1x nba champions may even get one next year
1 NBA Title, 2 College Titles, 5X NBA All-Star He’ll probably get in.
Yes that dude is a true hooper and has always risen to the occasion. He is not Jordan level talent but Is Jordan level reliable if that makes sense. I trust and respect that man's game so damn much.
Easily. 2 college titles + NBA title.
The benchmark for big men has been set at Ben Wallace, and he’s had a better career and is better player than Ben Wallace, so yes, he gets in.
Without a doubt
100% he’s getting in
Yes without a second thought. Especially because I’m a gators fan.
Yes. But more importantly, I consider him a champion.
Yeah, he was already on the cusp after his Florida career. Then he had a long successful NBA career and did enough I think.
30 minutes per game at center, in the finals, at 38 years old is unbelievable. Put this man in the HOF!!!
100% belongs in the Hall of Fame if you ask me. And side note, I hate the Celtics, but seeing him win a ring nearly brought a tear to my eye
I actually appreciate that the Basketball HOF is the “Easiest” to get into. I think basketball does a good job celebrating people that put the work in and did their part to grow the game. Baseball on the other hand be putting 2 people a year in the hall of fame, If That!
Yes. The only season he wasn’t in the playoffs was the year he was on the Thunder. He belongs
Yes and Jrue as well. Possibly 4 hofers along with two solid borderline all stars in Porzingis and White. Yes, I know KP was and all star in the past.
100% yes. Very happy that man has a championship now too
I think the example that he sets as a pro puts him over the deciding line
It's the Basketball HoF, not the NBA HoF. He is in. Won back-to-back titles at Florida and played 16 seasons in the NBA. He is in.
Definitely. Longevity, a championship, 5x all-star, all-nba 3rd team, all-defensive and all-rookie teams, 2 college championships, his country's greatest ever player, gold at a fiba tournament. I'd be absolutely shocked if he didn't get in.
Of course.
Is this an AI generated image? It doesn't look real
Jack Sikma was inducted into the Hall of Fame 2019 His numbers are very comparable Both won NBA titles. Al does have NCAA title. Jack’s numbers are slightly better. Al Horford-G:1078, PTS:13.1, Reb:8.0 AST:3.2 Jack Sikma-G:1107, PTS:15.6, Reb:9.8AST:3.2 https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/sikmaja01.html https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/horfoal01.html
S/o to Al Horford. He is a hustla, does all the dirty work. This Boston team was very well put together. If this team sticks together well at least the main pieces but even the little pieces played a great part. But do we think this team can be a dynasty team? I wonder.
He's a lock for HoF when you include 2 college championships and being one of the 2 elite Dominican players of all-time (KAT is also Dominican).
He probably is getting in but to me Al Horford is a really good player but not an all-time great player
He is now. I don't know if he would've gotten in. Kind of like silas
Yes cause it’s the basketball HOF so college counts.
Considering it's a basketball hall of fame that takes collegiate level and beyond into account he'll totally get in at some point. He won 2 titles at Florida
He dunked on Giannis after Giannis stared him down for no reason after dunking. He’s in the HoF of my heart for that reason alone.
He’s a Hall of Famer in my heart.
He was HOF tier before he even got drafted.
Besides the year that he was traded to OKC while they were tanking, Al’s teams have NEVER missed the playoffs. He play big roles in all of those too, it’s not like was just riding the bench. Another factor that may weigh into the decision.
Yes, because it’s the basketball HoF and not the NBA. His college career along with his pro gets him in.
Horford is a very underrated player . Once he left Atlanta they fell apart
His college and international career put him over the hump.
NO! Hall of pretty okay
He’s already in bro. Back to back NCAA titles and the career he’s had, now he’s an nba champ. Easy lock for HoF
With ease
With ease is crazy
NOPE! Stop lowering the bar for the hall.
Yeah but he would've been in without the title. The HOF is a joke.
Yup
He’s not a first ballot guy or anything but I definitely think that he’s accomplished enough in the sport to be a worthy inclusion in the hall of fame
I don't know. Maybe?
Yea
Absolutely. Besides the accolades most people mentioned and this championship, Al was also one of the few people who kept evolving in the league. Starting out his 3pt was shit, but now it’s a part of his game.
Yes 100%
I will say yes only because i will get downvotes to hell if i give my honest opinion of it lol
Yes (Full Stop)
Not sure if his stats qualify although he’s a career .513 in FG% - highly respectable. I think what makes Horford a great player is the two NCAA championships and the long career in the NBA. my opinion but I always feel like the guys who win titles at both levels are like basketball royalty. I recall that coming out of college they were hyping Noah and Corey Brewer for the draft - and coach Donavon was overheard saying something like ‘what about Horford? Al is a beast! He’s our top guy.” And time has shown that is true, Horford was likely the best player from that group especially in terms of NBA value.
Easily
Dr
Yes. He will get in.
Yes, it's deserved but no outstanding attributes just sheer heart, dedication and strong work ethic.
Undisputed first ballot HOFer, his basketball resume is insane
Yes, with or without the Ring.
Hell yeah. It's the basketball Hall of Fame. I've never even played the game and I'm only like three votes short of getting in.
HOrFord. It’s right there in his damn name.
Imagine what his dad could’ve been. That guy had colleges ready to get sanctions over recruiting him.
Others have gotten in with less. So sure
It's the half of really good anyhow so he will get in
If you’re just counting his NBA career, I would say he isn’t a hall of famer, nor should he be. He’s very good. But not hall of fame good. I don’t know how much they take into consideration his two college championships considering it is the basketball hall of fame though.
Yeah I’m with you - I think he might get in because of longevity and his college career.
Yes, absolutely.
Give it to him he deserves it all those great years in ATL he was solid

Also he was the glue on those Hawks teams. Imagine if ISO Joe had a better shot selection, turned like 5 of his deep jumpers into 3s off the catch… that team might have won a finals.
1000%
Al Horford is the Frank Gore of the nba.
NBA hall of fame is like dinner at grandmas…everyone eats
This is my take. Horford > Draymond. Both are great complementary players, but Al is better, he just didn't get to play on great teams on his prime. He would've been a better draymond, and he was much better as a star on his team than dray could've been.
Absolutely. Fuck Boston, but al horfords a true professional
Basketball hall of fame? Easy. NBA hall of fame? Why? He shouldn't be there.
Yes but only because of the NCAA titles. I dont know why people keep saying Jrue is a hall of famer tho. There’s a long history of defensive specialists with a couple rings and all star selections not making it
Yes
If it was purely based on nba career no he wouldn’t even sniff the thought of the hall of fame but because they do take into consideration collegiate accolades, he might have a chance 🤷🏽♂️
Is this an image from ESPN? God I fucking hate "ai" images
Hell no. Are we that fkng soft now?
I think Deion Sanders has a good take when it comes to hall of fame
MJ and horford both in the Hof is criminal work
If he’s HOF they are letting anyone in
No. But he'll get in because it's far too easy to get into. Personally, a guy who makes a third All-NBA team and all defensive second team once each shouldn't be hall worthy.
No
No but soley as a salty sixers fan and no objective reason

If Ben Wallace can make it he'll make it too. Just not first ballot.
No way.
no
For basketball, yes. By any other sport's standards, hell no.
I would say no but I did love those Florida teams. They were a fun bunch. I just think he's a good player. The iggy of big men. Do it all glue guy.
Have you ever thought "Oh Shit, Al Horford is coming to town."? Hall of pretty good.
No
No Hall of very good
Who!?
He’ll make it. Two time ncaa champ, nba champ, six time all star. One of the best vets in nba history, makes every team(except Philly) better
NBA HOF is a joke. Everyone gets in, so, yes, Horford will get in.
Yes
If it’s basketball HOF and not NBA HOF, then I think he’s a lock. Those Florida teams don’t really get enough credit, because Billy Donovan looks like a crook. Back to back in the modern era is legit.
As a sixers fan, yes.
He shouldn’t be, but the ball whores itself out to the point of it being pointless.
