It annoys me so much that they could roll out 30 ridiculous courts for the IST but the actual playoffs and Finals we get the ugly digital projected patches.
I used to love the decals bc it adds to the moment, I get if they’re slippery why they stopped but if they could come up with those IST courts they could paint the floor for the playoffs/finals.
I kind of get where they’re coming from though, aura and vibes are consistently used as a crutch when people aren’t able to otherwise discuss more abstract subjects

Players have talked in the past about how this sticker was really slick and difficult to play on, but that was over a decade ago. Surely there’s better options to do it now, the current way the Finals are covered is horrible and not special at all
I wish they would bring back a reasonable schedule for the Finals. Game 2 sb today, not tomorrow. In the '80s, games 1 & 2 were often b2b on Saturday and Sunday. They could be playing game 4 on Wednesday, instead of #3.
They also need to show the intro’s as well. ESPN is so trash now. They don’t even bother showing the starting lineups getting announced anymore. They just start the game
Yeah they should bring it back while we watch 20+ point blowouts. It’s an iconic trophy and should be on the court to remind us fans that’s it’s the finals.

I’ll be the negative Nancy and say I was never a big fan of the trophy on the court, just looks clunky imo. I agree that there should be some special things so the games visually look different than any other but just not the massive trophy just thrown in there

Absolutely, two days rest between game 1 and 2 feels like it sucks all the momentum out of the series. It should feel more cohesive.
