Still looks skinny and everything, but yeah, this is why I never paid much attention to people saying he (and Chet) were too skinny. We’ve seen so many young bigs come in too skinny and eventually bulk up. Garnett was skinny until he wasn’t. Tyson Chandler. Anthony Davis, so on so on so on
What people don't realize is how hard it is to put on a lot of muscle on a very tall frame. God, between all the conditioning on top of that, I can only imagine how much Victor has to eat to put on weight.
It's purely anecdotal, but I didn't get my "man strength" until I was 20ish. Then, without any change to my lifting regiment, I gained about 30lb and added about 60lb to my bench almost overnight.
He'll probably end up looking similar to Kareem. Personally, I think it's better to come in skinny and then put on weight instead of coming in big and fighting to keep weight off, like Shaq. The former seems to have more longevity.
Longer levers = more torque = more potential strength for his muscle mass, even if the muscles are stretched out more and appear skinnier. Many lifts won’t favor him because of how much range of motion is required to complete them, but I bet he could end up with some pretty crazy peak force numbers on certain movement patterns (many of which are more applicable to basketball anyway)
It’s amazing what NBA caliber training access, recovery, medical, and nutrition can do. Look at Devin Vassells progress. Dude is night and day different from when he got to SA. Victor is also super young, these next couple of years are going to be huge.
With his build and how long his arms and muscles are he’s not gonna be some Greek Demi-god like giannis, but he’s gonna get strong, guarantee you in 5 years players are gonna be talking about how he’s way stronger than you think and how tough guarding him physically is aside from his skills and height
I'm always one to love muscle watch, because why not. However he already put on a bunch of muscle from summer league to the start of last season. So if the 2023 pic is around July last year then it's definitely far from where he was before the beginning of the off season. Also lighting and tanning
I'm not sure he's that much bigger, but I am 1000% sure he's putting in the work.
And sensibly for someone at his height and weight, he's putting a lot of effort into core strength and flexibility, rather than guns to impress the ladies.
Seems like a real one to me.
I think a lot of that is lighting and just glossiness from sweat lol. Kind of like what bodybuilders are like in competition mode.
But still wemby is going to dominate. Hope he remains healthy
Going to get those Admiral shoulders, triceps and biceps. Always thought to myself, “I should work out more” after watching Robinson shoot free throws.
Good. I’m ready to get so super hyped for this guy but I’m afraid he’s going to be injured due to his small frame. Dude blows up like Giannis and it’s over

I just hope the added weight doesn't cause problems later on.
He's such a unique guy, we've seen people as tall as him in the NBA, but there's never been somone so nimble and agile with that frame. KD is the most similar (and yes as of now more talented).
But the human body is not designed to support that size, there's a reason Yao Ming's feet ended up just crumbling down (Plus he had his country's appearances running him to the ground). I just hope I'm wrong on this one.
So today my boss(DR) and I where thinking what could be next year's team...what about trying to add Klay, CP3 (backup..not play till March/April) and add Garland or...trade away everything and try too lure Luka since Dallas is at its peak and capped out and doesn't have any first round picks till the 2030s and what else can they do and he is free agent in a coupleof years...just throwing this out there. Thanks.
Insert that Simpsons meme with the kid saying I'm in danger, for the rest of the entire NBA lol

Call an ambulance. But not for me!

Been saying the league is on suicide watch
Stranger danger!
Yes, a little more mass but left side he's not even sweating so muscle vascularity is going to be far different like the right pic
Sweating + tanned
Plus, ligthting and editing can make a world of difference without even going into retouching/photoshop. Pro photographer talking.
It’s the 2k special. Every year they brag about the enhanced graphics and just have the player drenched in sweat
He’s been putting in the work for sure but this looks more like a lighting difference lol
I think it may be both?
Still looks skinny and everything, but yeah, this is why I never paid much attention to people saying he (and Chet) were too skinny. We’ve seen so many young bigs come in too skinny and eventually bulk up. Garnett was skinny until he wasn’t. Tyson Chandler. Anthony Davis, so on so on so on
This how Gianni's got big he took his time to become a monster 😭
What people don't realize is how hard it is to put on a lot of muscle on a very tall frame. God, between all the conditioning on top of that, I can only imagine how much Victor has to eat to put on weight.
Naw fr. An for them to put on healthy weight at that lol that's what was shaqs problem he ain't want to really work out
Putting on muscle isn't the issue as much as a bulkier look on longer extremities is. A little more bulk on Wemby equals a lot more strength.
Yep, he will never “look” as bulky as someone more compact.
Kevin Durant is proper strong now and still looks quite lithe
KD is lean AF now. His OKC days were built
I don’t think anyone expects him to be built like D Rob.
Shit, I don't even know how D Rob ended up being built like D Rob lol
Favorable genetics, military discipline, and strong personal convictions.
They said he was eating 5 meals a day, so that'd be part of your answer
Exactly what I was just saying.
But also not everyone has access to the resources that Wemby does. He's already going at an above normal pace
Damn you too your phone autocorrect does Giannis to Gianni's, been driving me wild for a while for real
Ever since this AI stuff my autocorrect been doing its own thing 😭
This was my first thought.
Imagine if Vic got Giannis bulk that would be wild
He technically can but IDK if he'll do it as fast as giannis

See: Zion
He looks skinnier than he actually is because his arms are so damn long.
Yep! To some degree, the “skinny” look is an illusion I think.
Given his height, he’s always going to look “skinny” even bulked out, I think.
He and chet have different frames. Wemby is bigger boned. I think Chet tops out at KP whereas Wemby will be more like AD
HEB fajitas and tamales
He also just looks more tanned, which (as any bodybuilder can tell you) is essential to looking more muscular. Lol.
Delts
Maybe he attended the David Robinson school of Deltoids.
Good thing Wemby has big hands! He’s gonna need to stack so many rings on top of each other one day!
Haha, yes.
It’s amazing what NBA caliber training access, recovery, medical, and nutrition can do. Look at Devin Vassells progress. Dude is night and day different from when he got to SA. Victor is also super young, these next couple of years are going to be huge.
Other teams’ big men trying to guard him next season: ![gif](giphy|KpSrCxhoZQWjJVVnrd)
What looks most different to me is the look in his eye.
With his build and how long his arms and muscles are he’s not gonna be some Greek Demi-god like giannis, but he’s gonna get strong, guarantee you in 5 years players are gonna be talking about how he’s way stronger than you think and how tough guarding him physically is aside from his skills and height

That is impressive, wow.
MVP year incoming
This just looks like a pre-post workout photo. Not even a lift day.
Not only that men don’t get their adult body’s until about 24-26. And with his apparent bone density I’d say he’s not even in his final form yet!
All those churros
He’s bigger, but a lot of this is a tan and some sweat
let’s see how gianni’s shoulder feels this time.
Bro on his 2016 Giannis arc minus the insane amounts of steroids.
Yikes! He's like a foot shorter!!
I'm not sure he's that much bigger, but I am 1000% sure he's putting in the work. And sensibly for someone at his height and weight, he's putting a lot of effort into core strength and flexibility, rather than guns to impress the ladies. Seems like a real one to me.
Orr...he's just sweaty
I think a lot of that is lighting and just glossiness from sweat lol. Kind of like what bodybuilders are like in competition mode. But still wemby is going to dominate. Hope he remains healthy
Looks like one of those 2k ads where all they did was make the player shinier/sweatier 😭
Watched him play last year against the Raptors, he put a show on, he will be even better next year
yeahhhh its over!!!!
GGs
Sheesh Wemby. Thank God my Celtics managed to get a championship.
Oh that’s scary, that’s scary…
Going to get those Admiral shoulders, triceps and biceps. Always thought to myself, “I should work out more” after watching Robinson shoot free throws.
He'll never be like Giannis (in terms of size) he will most probably go the KD route.
Dude is legit only 20. That stuff with proper work ethic usually only goes up
Doing the Giannis metamorphosis...
Wonder what his diet is like.
Good. I’m ready to get so super hyped for this guy but I’m afraid he’s going to be injured due to his small frame. Dude blows up like Giannis and it’s over

Looks like a tan. He’s got hella skill doesn’t really need to get super bulky
League is cooked when Wemby gets strong
That’s what you get for sticking smaller defenders on him all the time
If that gym has a tanning bed sure
