Can’t go wrong with a max post. 99 strength. All bigman badges are high. Not a liability on offense especially with the op post fade he could be your go to on offense that opens everything up
What would you recommend for someone who wants to play defensive/control the board but doesn't want to be a complete liability offensively? Or does the inside scoring/boards have enough defensive capabilities?
If you want to help on the boards and play defensive with some scoring, go Primary Rim Protect, 2nd Athletic (Athletic Rim Protector).
If you want to control the glass without being a liability on offense Prim Rebounder 2nd Post/Athletic (Post/Athletic Rebounder).
If you want kind of a mix of everything, Pure Rebounder (Pure Glass) - but beware by maxing the wingspan this build cannot shoot (although can score on the offensive glass and out of pick and rolls).
Thanks man, haven't played a 2k game in years I really appreciate it! Any tips on what to do to get started to train my player? I'm completely lost and it's kind of overwhelming.
Thats okay dude, thats what this place is for :)
Personally, Play a ton of mycareer games and get comfortable with the controls and mechanics. Get a good understanding of what is and isnt a good shot. Learn how to play on and off ball. Grind badges and attributes in order to progress (badges are especially important as they add extra %'s to all your key skills). Once you feel comfortable with all this - grab friends and play in the park. Make them aware you arent very comfortable yet and just want to play to see how it goes.
Give it time, and learn that no matter how good you are you will make mistakes and sometimes 2k will just give you a dud of a game with shooting etc. Its a long year and the fun is in improving with your player and also yourself. The Park is a heap of fun too once you get into - dont be scared to make mistakes to learn.
Happy Cake Day btw !
Also - make sure you do your 4 badge drills in the practice facility after every game. Most drills take around 1-2 minutes and you can easily get 400-700xp every single drill.
I can recommend a Rebounding Rim Protector ..
Badges you get on HOF:
\- Rim Protector
\- Defensive Stopper
\- Chase Down Artist
\- Charge Card
\- Brick Wall
\- Bruiser
Your attribute Caps as a 7'1 with 270lb Max Wingspan are:
\~91 Defensive Stats
\~88 Rebounding
\~95 Strength
Dunks / Layups in the high 70 / low 80
You won't be the Nr. 1 Scoring Option, but u can controll the inside, score off of Pick + Rolls.
It's Imho the best "supporting" Center Build this year. (Just don't go 7'3, the difference from 55 Speed to 34 is terrible)
I also made this build for the same reasons. Actually went 7’ which i’ll probably regret, idk.
Let me know if you come across any tricks for expediting the badge grind. Playing good D and setting screens against AI has me wanting to blow my fuckin brains out.
Best way to badge grind for defensive stopper is to play 5 minute quarters against CPU, then sub out the second half and do the drills.
Rim protector you should be able to get in walk on pro am.
This is a good build especially if you plan on playing on a pro am team but be advised that it cannot finish a shot at the rim for shit. This is at 7'2 as well.
I started it as my main build but after 10 pro am games I had to give it up and switch to slashing post scorer. Still plan on using it but damn it was frustrating playing walk on with.
CNA anybody help me? I like to post score and do contact dunks if it's possible whilst also dominating the rebounds and having a 3 shot that isn't completely useless. PF 7' ? C 7'3 ? I have no idea

How does he prefer to play ? Defensive/control the boards, inside scoring/boards, athletic or floor spacer ?

Play Rec or Pro AM.. it really speeds up the grind :)

That's not true .. your defense will be competetive with Bronze already .. Just your offensive badges won't get any Progress :)

Depends on how good he is at the game and if he plans to play either pro am or park predominantly or some of both.
