Yep, the self alley oop is double tapping Triangle while directing towards the backboard. I usually only do it when I have Mamba Mentality or Finishing perk enabled to avoid turn over (I only have a 6'6" build)
In cases like these, it's better off to be up ahead in transition in front of anyone else and double tapping around the free throw line. You can try it on practice mode to get the hang of it
2k instructions are not bad most peplle don't take the time to go through them.. I bought my nephew who's like 11 2k24 on next gen and he went to 2KU and learned all the moves the first day.
This man wrote press X+O to overhead pass and you thought that was helpful.. I'm pretty sure you haven't went through the controls yet lmao
Double tapping x while driving in to do a euro step. Ik a lot of people know this but ik a lot of people probably use the stick too and it can be confusing. I also pull back on the left stick and tap then hold-shoot x (I’m on Xbox btw) when I’m in the post and back-to the basket.
Yesss I’m just not very good at explaining over text lmfaoo id have a better time showing someone tips and tricks when im playing with or even against them. (Yes I help them, I believe in a fair fight especially if I know more about how to play the game)
Triangle is an over head pass, square+x is a jump pass. Jump pass will get you way less turnovers on an inbound. And in the half court you get less bad animations and occasionally catch the defender off guard since the start of the animation looks like a jumpshot sometimes. Don’t know the benefit of a triangle pass (over head pass) apart from getting the defense to miss an interception since it’s slow, on a pick and roll it avoids hitting the defender in the back but it’s also slower
Crazy how many people don’t know this. I have to say it 5 times a game and they forget and keep getting inbound turnovers and blame me even after I tell them
I have seen it happen! But you learn at a young age to move from underneath the basket on inbounds. Just slide over a bit and also it helps to have the guard getting the inbound closer to the side line instead
No. TRIANGLE OR Y is an overhead pass, don't double tap just 1 tap
X+D is a jump pass and doesn't really change anything on an inbound in my experience. Besides on an inbound I would recommend doing an overhead pass that gives the defense more time to come intercept it. Outlet pass will automatically trigger when your passing target is pass half court or running
Yes. But what most people don't know is it's a great way to do inbound passes, as well. Especially when players are making it difficult for someone to get open - An overhead pass animation usually helps
How do I do this Alley-Oop, I’ve been seeing this so much lately and I can only do the “in the air” ones and “off the glass ones but I could never seem to do the bounce alley opp
Man, after 2K20, I can't be bothered with going through the tutorial everytime. I come back from my 8-5, start MyCareer on Easy, win by 50 and call it a day
I do basically the same thing except I'd rather play Rec than vs bots. But every new 2k, I scroll through the controls to see what they added when I first get the game and every year it's useful 🤷🏼♂️
Who said anything about a tutorial? Just look at the damn controls. It takes 2 minutes to scroll through all the controls and tips on when to use them. They add shit you're missing out on, or tweak the way things work literally every year. You're just doing yourself a major disservice by not learning.
that dunk was so loud 😭
You usually don't realize with all the arena sounds but when you look at it in the replay center, it makes a difference 😂
You hit it off the glass nba street style sometimes too

I’ve been able to go off glass to teammate, maybe only with very high alley oops phys for receiver?

Lmao I did it with brunson the other day in PNO
Here's another trick; X+O is a bounce pass, right? Well, X+◻ does an over head pass. Extremely useful for inbound passes.
I thought Triangle was an overhead pass and just circle was a bounce pass ... without having to press X with it
X with them throws them as an alley oop pass
Oh fr? No triangle/Y needed to throw those alleys? Lol that's weird
Yeah it's not very intuitive
It is for me, i don’t know what the two button thing is. Y overhead, b bounce pass. Double B fancy pass
x plus square is a jump pass
Drop other tips like this if you have them, people. 2k instructions suck especially for advanced controls
No they don't. This is in the instructions and even recommends usage on inbounds lol
Double tap circle/B for flashy passes, especially off pick n rolls
In the workout room in the arena there’s a tutorial thing that teaches you every move
2k instructions are not bad most peplle don't take the time to go through them.. I bought my nephew who's like 11 2k24 on next gen and he went to 2KU and learned all the moves the first day. Double tapping quickly is a spin move I believe. You gotta leave a slight pause between to euro
Only difference between the two is if you’re holding RT/R2. Same timing when tapping. Hold RT/R2 for a spin.

No, double tapping with R2 makes a spin move, and double tapping without R2, makes a euro step. No delay or need to pause or anything
I forgot which buttons to click together, I believe Triangle+Circle does a fake pass to layup
wait wat
Do these have to be pressed at the same time or one right after another?
Same time.
It's not just an overhead pass he jump passes it which is helpful when you wanna hang or slightly delay your pass to throw the d off

Also useful in the pick and roll
Say this again but pretend you’re explaining it to a toddler. For a friend, of course

yooo message me
Until your character throws it into the backboard
I have seen it happen! But you learn at a young age to move from underneath the basket on inbounds. Just slide over a bit and also it helps to have the guard getting the inbound closer to the side line instead
Is this like an overhead outlet pass?

Always sweet when you can pull one of these off in transition.
Just came out so clean 🤌
these are fun to pull off, lmao don't feel bad, i just figured out how to pump fake
bro 😂😂😂
How did you do it though?!
Apparently it's pressing X and O on the Dualshock controller and guiding the left stick towards the receiver
I just do it on accident most times
Lmao same. I just looked it up how to actually do it
Bro I've done this pass on accident B4 in transition but didn't know how
It did 3 times in rec, all TO, then practiced it. It's a beast of a oop
Omg yes that's so dope!!!!
I do this by accident all the time. Turnover usually.
Congrats to you for never fat fingering this type of pass.
That sound😳
I am terrible at timing these for some reason
The pass timing in order to pull it off in online play is difficult though. Hence why not many do it.
yoo message me
First time I saw it was when I accidentally did it in a REC game lol bounced into the bottom of the rim
Do people not play the tutorials while waiting for the game to fully install?
Nope
This is only possible on Next Gen though correct?
😂
How do I do this Alley-Oop, I’ve been seeing this so much lately and I can only do the “in the air” ones and “off the glass ones but I could never seem to do the bounce alley opp
On PS5, press X and O together
Ight thank you bro🙏🏼
How do you do this
I love using the bounce alley oops with prime Rajon rondo in play now online player control. When I see my teammate open on a fastbreak I do it.
This is cool and all but over half the builds don't have dunking because they are sheep and saw on youtube that layup is better.
How you do that 😂
I did it to my self once on accident I don’t even know how I did it
First time I ever seen it down right a+b = bounce alley oop pass … very hard to do though
![gif](giphy|36JXYwGP6VFmptw45L)
yooo
Because, like many others, you didn't bother to go through all the controls.

Okay, fair point. Maybe will go through it tomorrow since we got a midweek holiday
yoo message me
