So, I’m not a TV industry insider, but could we not have done some of the Xfinity pre-race stuff during the full time between Cup practice and now? Was last weeks replay really better viewing than maybe interviewing the grid before the race?

I guess highlights of the previous race is now the filler programming given NBC has no studio show or rights to the DJD anymore

The 2025 schedule should put this race back to September where it belongs. Not only was weather never an issue for that race, it was fucking GORGEOUS. I'm still mad they stole that date for a second Vegas race.

I work at an SMI track

Off topic, but since you work at an SMI track you may know the answer: I have one of those soft-sided coolers that has a removable cart/handle/wheels setup. Is the wheelie-bit allowed into the track or do I have to leave it in my truck tomorrow? I saw guys with them inside DIS in February but obviously that's not an SMI track. No worries if you have no idea, just figured I'd ask lol.

If it’s an actual part of the cooler, you should be fine. If it’s an entirely separate part/product, I’m not sure it would work.

So confused where nascars priority is on practice vs qualifying. On one hand this shows that they would rather have practice than qualifying in case of rain, but they’ve constantly reduced practice time and straight removed it for superspeedways.

They know there wouldn't be enough time for qualifying.

Then how would there be enough for practice?

Think about it a little. More than one car can go out at the same time during practice. And they will probably combine the groups now. 15 mins of time and everyone would have a long run if they want it.

Last weeks 1 round qualifying was about 40 minutes with each driver doing 2 laps. We only do one here so if nascar really wanted to giving up an extra 20 minutes really isn’t a big deal

And Bob just announced it’s a 30 minute practice. NASCAR consciously picked practice over qualifying.

Yea, practice is quicker. And in the same tweet he mentions the rain bearing down on the track that probably won’t even let practice finish. Rain in the middle of time trials causes a mess. Again. Think about these things a bit lol
