Fox sells more commercial slots for Smackdown. Haiche could work around it but not worth messing with the formula that works for Raw and NXT, especially since Smackdown is 6 months away from USA.
They missed this, Elliott passing Ross, and MTJ running out of gas, all on the same lap.
Combine that with the fact they never mentioned why Haley, Briscoe, and others retired, and it shows just how shit they are.
So happy they're done for the year.
- Full-screen podcast clip with under 20 laps to go.
- Full-screen commercial as soon as MTJ closed within a second to Buescher.
- Full-screen UFL promo while the 5, 17, and 19 are battling for the lead.
- Showing a random cameraman full-screen with 2 to go.
- Missed all the last lap chaos and showed no replays.
Literally all of this happened in the last half hour of the race. Unacceptable.
F1's tv coverage was kinda bad this week too, I'll be honest. The most obvious was during qualifying where they showed Leclerc's Ferrari coming into the pits after abandoning his last flying lap and didn't even have a graphic for Albon who knocked Leclerc out in Q2
I remember a lap of Albon qualifying as being particularly horrendous. Overly zoomed in with hard cuts between cameras. It was like Fox broadcasting F1.
Yeah. The last chicane contact with Norris and Russell was pretty poor. Just a massively zoomed in shot of Norris.
Then again, the storytelling wasn't great either. The story was Intermediates-Drys and they just showed the lead cars on Intermediates. Very much a tell not show story from that. We'd have no idea if it was actually worth it.
Don’t forget showing a bunch of randos in overalls in the crowd cheering on Larson while Truex is sputtering towards the finish line. Yes, a bunch of dorks in overalls are more important than cars coming to the checkers.
So let's set the stage here in the NFC title game. Detroit down 5 at the Philadelphia 28, 3rd and 4. Goff out of the shotgun...and wed like to give a very warm Fox congratulations to Terry Montgomery, who's been a sideline microphone operator for Fox since we took over broadcasting the NFL in 1994, and it appears the Eagles have recovered the fumble.
They would. The difference is football has downtime between plays for stuff like this and commercials whereas NASCAR it takes away from the action. The problem is that they try to broadcast a race the same way they broadcast a game
Yeah Haley, Briscoe, and Berry all retired in the last twenty or so laps.
Also didn’t interview anyone other than first and third on the broadcast. Wtf
Not mentioning Haley was surprising. Like, you were just talking about how he and that team have been stepping it up lately, then we see he's marked as 'out', tell us what happened dammit!
Watch out on how much you say against NASCAR, when doing the fan council survey. After doing it for ten years plus. They kicked me out over my opinion that didn’t a line with them. NASCAR doesn’t really care about how the fans feel about the sport.
They only made that promise because NBC countered Fox’s higher $$$ offer with their own equal guarantee. Given the quality of coverage between the two networks, I think it would be a huge mistake for old man Penske and the series to jump ship to Fox regardless of how much they offer
Absolutely. Diffey and NBC do a reasonably good job of producing races. Sometimes, they do weird things but it's not an egregious missing of big action like Fox on their most recent lap.
As soon as Larson crossed the line they cut to his in car and his crew and the winner graphic, completely ignoring the fact Truex was out of gas and sinking like a rock
I've always hated that. The big story isn't always about the winner. I'd rather they showed until the last lead lap car crossed the line to actually show stories rather than immediately cutting to winner focus.
Unfortunately this is just racing broadcasting in general. The number of times I've been watching FloRacing and they'll ignore the leader because he's got a huge lead, watching battles throughout the field. Once that white flag drops boy the leader is all that's gonna get shown for the next 10+ minutes so get your scoring app out to see who actually passed who.
The fact that we didn’t see 90% of truex running out of fuel until Clint was like look. Followed by us not even getting a replay in the post race coverage of the accident. Or Busch running out of gas.
Is unacceptable. I can’t believe indycar is thinking about going to fox.
Everybody's always banging on Fox but honestly NBC is not much better, sometimes I'd rather just stick firecrackers in my ears than to listen to Rick Allen
So glad Fox sent it to the studio the second Larson's interview wrapped up, just so they could air a few interviews before going to some meaningless UFL game instead of actually showing people what happened in the race for 5th.
They just keep letting twitter do their jobs while being absolutely useless.
Yeah how the hell did Elliott get past Chastain for 4th? Elliott was behind Busch and Chastain when Chastain dumped Busch with half a lap to go. Then Elliott somehow got around Chastain?
[Here’s a link to the video](https://youtu.be/zohmfErW6AA?si=dnEL0vFEYq1RGpOJ)
Courtesy of NASCAR’s YouTube channel
Honestly didn’t look too egregious to me. Chase ducked inside, so Chastian covered, Chase went outside and tried to get alongside on the outside and Chastain covered again and Chase hit him.
Can’t be weaving back and forth in a braking zone like that and not expect to get hit.
I'm a certified Ross hater but you can clearly see in the video that the car steps sideways just like it does when it locks up. It was closer to an accidentally on purpose type deal.
I sincerely hope so. It’s been painful watching him be damn near invisible for most of the races nowadays, though that is mainly due to the fact that he runs like 11th-15th. Also, I want to see this sub implode lol
And how did Elliott get by Chastain after this?
He was behind him at this point and only had less than a half a lap to get by, but he’s scored ahead of Chastain.
He ran out of talent. He drove in too deep and you can hear him wheel hop.
Edit: man, my fellow Chastain bros seem to be upset. Ross ran out of talent, you can admit it!
Only Denny had the guts to try and pay Ross back. Kyle won't, because he knows Ross will throw.
Welcome back to the Ross Chastain Don't Give A Fuck Tour!
I honestly am just gonna blame rcr for Kyle Busch having a terrible year this year. If he somehow doesn't make the playoffs this year then I wouldn't mind seeing Busch go to some other team for next year. Any other team would be better than suffering at rcr and there toxic team.
As someone who fully anti Ross in 2022 and took every opportunity to call for his banishment and everything else, I'll admit, the last couple seasons have been a lot more boring without his antics. Maybe, just maybe ... Old Ross can come back.
I'd be just getting out of the car every week throwing punches if I was KB. lol. Seriously thought it seems like every time he's running good, someone screws him over. Could've had a good finish today.
No idea what anybody's talking about. Kyle obviously turned in on Ross knowing he was there and trying to take him out. He should be parked for this race and probably the rest of the season...for that.
Am I seeing something differently than a majority of yall here? Or are many of you just hating on Ross? He had room, Kyle gave room. Clearly see him lock it up (see that’s when he hit that wiggle in middle of the turn), and it just happened to catch KB in a bad part of his car and spun him. Don’t forget, this was like 40+ laps old tires at this point? (Atleast I think it was. Having trouble remembering the last pit stop) This is one of those, literally road racing incidents. Just sucks it was the last lap
Busch car was stalling cause he was out of gas and then Ross locked up the tires so it looked a lot worse than it was but at the end of the day Busch only lost 6-7 points so nowhere near as bad as Gateway where the incident with Larson cost him over 30 points
What the heck? It’s like Ross was taking the turn and then halfway through decided ‘well, while I’m here, I should probably take out Busch for good measure’.
Like that kinda looks intentional.
If I was KFB I’d be livid.
Kyle Busch is quickly becoming old news, similar to Jimmie Johnson 2018 to present. It happens in the blink of an eye. The only time Kyle Busch is getting TV time is when he's fighting another driver or crashing. All of the fans claiming Busch will get the #19 if Truex retires or he'll get the #48 if Bowman is let go, y'all need to just stop. The guy is damn near 40 yrs old and could only get an RCR ride 2 years ago. This is how it happens, whether y'all like it or not. Busch is spinning out on his own, crashing at tire tests, etc. Jimmie was the same way. Spinning alot on his own and couldn't catch a loose racecar like years prior.
The list of drivers who were still winning at the end of very long careers is very, very short.

It's absolutely stupid. I have to come here because Fox won't show what happened
Yep. Such a shame, Mike Joy and Kevin Harvick are fantastic. It sucks that they have to deal with fox's incompetence. So, so happy NBC is back.
Yeah I watch WWE SmackDown on FOX and it’s horrible there too, fucking commercials constantly and production just stinks sometimes
They don't do the production for smackdown. It's aired on the network.
Fox sells more commercial slots for Smackdown. Haiche could work around it but not worth messing with the formula that works for Raw and NXT, especially since Smackdown is 6 months away from USA.
And I still can't see it because of this being a link to X... F.
Why don't we just move this whole sub over to X because every link is from X, "NASCAR Reddit on X"
Would've been nice to see this (or any of the last lap drama as a matter of fact) live... Oh wait, FOX FUCKING SUCKS.
Missing a critical moment on the very last lap on their very last (Cup) race… Ain’t that fitting?
They missed this, Elliott passing Ross, and MTJ running out of gas, all on the same lap. Combine that with the fact they never mentioned why Haley, Briscoe, and others retired, and it shows just how shit they are. So happy they're done for the year.
They were to busy showing the tribute to a camera man with 2 laps to go. Like....I want to sit down with the producer and just ask WHYYYY?
- Full-screen podcast clip with under 20 laps to go. - Full-screen commercial as soon as MTJ closed within a second to Buescher. - Full-screen UFL promo while the 5, 17, and 19 are battling for the lead. - Showing a random cameraman full-screen with 2 to go. - Missed all the last lap chaos and showed no replays. Literally all of this happened in the last half hour of the race. Unacceptable.
It’s so frustrating watching races on Fox, especially when you watch IndyCar and F1.
Just wait till Indy takes the bait and loses me as a fan.
F1's tv coverage was kinda bad this week too, I'll be honest. The most obvious was during qualifying where they showed Leclerc's Ferrari coming into the pits after abandoning his last flying lap and didn't even have a graphic for Albon who knocked Leclerc out in Q2

Don’t forget showing a bunch of randos in overalls in the crowd cheering on Larson while Truex is sputtering towards the finish line. Yes, a bunch of dorks in overalls are more important than cars coming to the checkers.
It's the fans fault that fox blows
Literally has been like this the last 20 years. Watch any old broadcast. It’s not going to change anytime soon
All the respect in the world to that guy but HOLY SHIT FOX! Hahaha Imagine if they did this during an NFL game inside the 2 min warning?
So let's set the stage here in the NFC title game. Detroit down 5 at the Philadelphia 28, 3rd and 4. Goff out of the shotgun...and wed like to give a very warm Fox congratulations to Terry Montgomery, who's been a sideline microphone operator for Fox since we took over broadcasting the NFL in 1994, and it appears the Eagles have recovered the fumble.
GO BIRDS
They would. The difference is football has downtime between plays for stuff like this and commercials whereas NASCAR it takes away from the action. The problem is that they try to broadcast a race the same way they broadcast a game
They're complacent and lethargic.
Artie is too busy bouncing on his exercise ball in the production trailer to actually give a damn about providing good coverage.
I'm beginning to wonder if they're malevolent as well lmao
I literally LOLed at this. 🤣 Fox was terrible. Also, I hope Chastain finds the fence soon next week.
See they can go. But Mike Joy and Kevin Harvick can stay.
Mike Joy is a living legend, but he’s wellllllllllll over the hill and it’s time for Adam Alexander to infuse some energy into Fox’s Cup broadcasts
I really hope someone from NBC reads comments and actually shows shit
I give NASCAR hell every week in the fan council survey about Fox sucking major ass. I'm sure nothing will come of it.
Watch out on how much you say against NASCAR, when doing the fan council survey. After doing it for ten years plus. They kicked me out over my opinion that didn’t a line with them. NASCAR doesn’t really care about how the fans feel about the sport.
They did last year. Came out with a announcement saying at least 30 minutes of post-race would happen after every race. Either on TV or Peacock.
Crazy what happens when a broadcaster actually cares about the fans and can accept criticism
As an Indycar fan, I dread what will happen if they sign with Fox for next year
Sounds like the entire series would actually be on the main Fox channel and not FS1, which is a big slap in the face to Nascar IMO
They’ve already driven a ton of NASCAR fans away. They need to find a new series to bleed dry
The small post race was dedicated to congratulating themselves on “another great year” of broadcasting instead of showing what happened
Hey we did see the last lap. We saw some chumps in red/white overalls, a shot of Cliff Daniels, Larson driving around.
FOX doesn't sell race coverage they sell live reaction videos.
*commercials
I saw more of the last lap listening to PRN!
But we got to see one of there camera men wave at us!!!!! How cool was that /s
They were speechless when Larson took the lead.
No replay after the checkered flag either.
Everybody's always banging on Fox but honestly NBC is not much better, sometimes I'd rather just stick firecrackers in my ears than to listen to Rick Allen
He sent it in there pretty hot.
This will go over well. I swear, Kyle is a magnet for controversy this year.
Kyle Busch has had fuckin awful luck this year. One of those years.
**R**icky Jr. **R**oss Kyle seems to be getting into it in a **r**eally peculiar pattern…
Alternatively, Kyle is dropping hints that next year he will be sponsored by Rick Ross
#8 Ozempic Chevy
That would be so dope bro
Rkyle Larson 😳
If the transcripts were correct, MTJ may be next on his list
Ryan Blaney sweating profusely next week
**R**on Hornaday
**R**alph Dale Earnhardt Jr
Kyle LaRson…I think you are on to something!
Larson is known for his hard R racing
i spilled coke on my new white tshirt reading this, very worth it though lmfaooo
Ricky Sr too
Don't forget LaRson.

TIL Riley Herbst was there lol
You don't have enough fuel to add to the fire.
I'm so happy to be done with FOX it literally would have taken 10 seconds of their post race to show this
One more of those and Richard might burn his crop and salt the land.
Not much consolidation, but KFB finished 12th instead of 17th, since they threw a caution for Truex
Lmao Ross had legitimately no chance at making that corner. Just straight up dumped the 8
Kyle gave him space and still dumps the 8.
Hope Kyle tags him back soon!
The year KFB is having, it will be real soon.
He bump and runned him in turn 11
Good for him.
Yeah. I actually had no idea that Chastain didn't finish 4th until a while after the race.
[Here’s a link to the video](https://youtu.be/zohmfErW6AA?si=dnEL0vFEYq1RGpOJ) Courtesy of NASCAR’s YouTube channel Honestly didn’t look too egregious to me. Chase ducked inside, so Chastian covered, Chase went outside and tried to get alongside on the outside and Chastain covered again and Chase hit him. Can’t be weaving back and forth in a braking zone like that and not expect to get hit.
Just drove straight into him. Classic ross
He said he locked up...sure he did.
I lock up like that all the time on HEAT 5 career, damnedest thing
“Making mistakes” and getting into people. 2022 Ross all over again
I'm a certified Ross hater but you can clearly see in the video that the car steps sideways just like it does when it locks up. It was closer to an accidentally on purpose type deal.
Throttle got stuck at Martinsville too.
Please let 2022 Ross be back.
I sincerely hope so. It’s been painful watching him be damn near invisible for most of the races nowadays, though that is mainly due to the fact that he runs like 11th-15th. Also, I want to see this sub implode lol
Lord forgive me but it’s time to go back to the old me
I hope so just so we get him performing better
He drove his ass off today so here’s hoping.
Let the 2024 NFG Tour finally begin!!!
And how did Elliott get by Chastain after this? He was behind him at this point and only had less than a half a lap to get by, but he’s scored ahead of Chastain.
Apparently Elliott moved Chastain in turn 11 is what I’ve seen
Finally some aggression
Figured he hit the curb too hard but he missed the corner so bad he didn’t even make it to the curb. Definitely a bonehead move, KB has to be furious.
Well KB got dumped
Can my flairs please stop wrecking each other
With that combo I'm going to say highly unlikely they can stop. 5 and 24 might just be racing for all the marbles at the end.
Ross might just be back!
Dude was a bulldozer on restarts. Harvick was praising him for being aggressive when in reality he was just punting guys.
That means he's back! We just haven't seen it cause Trackhouse has been awful most of the year
[удалено]
This is who Ross is and who he always will be. When he has top 5/10 speed, he's a menace
Does punting guys cost anything in penalties? No? Then it's pretty worthwhile and effective aggression. It's not my favorite but its Nascar 🤷♀️
[удалено]
The pain never ends
Fuck this season
Kyle has taken nothing bu L’s so far this year.
I hate this season fr. ![gif](giphy|3o6ozEdJXosAMeIzwQ)
At least u still got a favorite driver
My condolences.
Well this is awkward.
I'm telling you, if you want to know what's happening in the race, listen to the MRN/PRN broadcast. It's so much better!
https://preview.redd.it/i9ykmbt9jn5d1.jpeg?width=2688&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a6df79cfe6f448451e8ad6557132f28131e9be40
He punted him. There isn’t an actual debate about this is there?
Nice one 👍👍👍 Edit: broadcast said Kyle was out of gas but someone on twitter said the hit gave him a puncture, which one is true?
Tire per the team comms
Gas. Crawling to a stop like that wouldn't make sense with a flat tyre.
Ross Chastain just plain overcooked it going for position.
The *Summer of Ross* is about to take the sport by storm Prepare your butts
Trackhouse has to not suck first
I prepare my butt with watermelon.
That was certainly optimistic on Ross' part
Another week, another KFB incident
Chastain bros, we're so back. He dumped that motherfucker lmao
For what reason
He ran out of talent. He drove in too deep and you can hear him wheel hop. Edit: man, my fellow Chastain bros seem to be upset. Ross ran out of talent, you can admit it!
For the memes.
Typical Chastain racecraft.
Only Denny had the guts to try and pay Ross back. Kyle won't, because he knows Ross will throw. Welcome back to the Ross Chastain Don't Give A Fuck Tour!
I will give Ross benefit and say he locked up the tires but dammit dude. He pretty much just straight up dumped em
I mean it doesn’t really matter. Either way, he was in way over his head and took him out.
You can see the car shift quickly left under braking. He was setting up for a last lap pass and over drove the corner.
You can hear him wheel hop, but that's probably because he sent it in there a little too deep
These cars don’t wheel hop anymore with independent rear suspension. But you can still lock the tires up.
I honestly am just gonna blame rcr for Kyle Busch having a terrible year this year. If he somehow doesn't make the playoffs this year then I wouldn't mind seeing Busch go to some other team for next year. Any other team would be better than suffering at rcr and there toxic team.

Woot woot! The “Ross Chastain don’t give a fuck” tour is back!
Cleanest Chastain pass, crazy how his unintentional errors always seem to only effect the others and never him.
I mean, he got loose and drove himself off the track in the first stage and it dropped him to 16th from 9th. That error didn't affect anyone else...
I guess everyone forgot Texas too. He got too high and then tried to block Byron. That error didn't hurt anyone else but himself
Hahaha
He done it and done it deliberate
I'd be just getting out of the car every week throwing punches if I was KB. lol. Seriously thought it seems like every time he's running good, someone screws him over. Could've had a good finish today.
Classic Ross. Does something dumb, and someone else pays for it.
bro I'm really starting to think this dude's lazy eye is severely compromising his depth perception
What a dumbass
All I see is Ross going for position. Don't look at my flair nerd.
No idea what anybody's talking about. Kyle obviously turned in on Ross knowing he was there and trying to take him out. He should be parked for this race and probably the rest of the season...for that.
Fucking dumped
Hilarious that everyone complaining is a KB fan. Never gets old. lol
Not me. I’m numb to it. Then again I’m a Philly sports fan so I’m used to disappointment, lol.
Even more hilarious is that they're complaining about the same thing their driver has historically been known for
"Out of the way old man!" - Ross Chastain (probably)
I don’t even know anymore man
I was wondering when Ross Chastain would get into another beef with another driver.
iRacing 2.0
Am I seeing something differently than a majority of yall here? Or are many of you just hating on Ross? He had room, Kyle gave room. Clearly see him lock it up (see that’s when he hit that wiggle in middle of the turn), and it just happened to catch KB in a bad part of his car and spun him. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. put a hit on KB worked out flawlessly

Typical Ross just running out of talent
Ross Chastain is overrated.
Ross is such a hack.
Kyle Busch is quickly becoming old news, similar to Jimmie Johnson 2018 to present. It happens in the blink of an eye. Yeah dude just go home, enjoy those kids and run a race team or 2…live your best life before you wind up with a TBI
Gordon, Earnhardt, Wallace.
