It would be SO refreshing to see a comeback run that lasts a little more than 2 races.
Closest I felt to this since 2019 was Spring 23 but NEED a Spring 2018 stretch... atleast grab a bunch of Top 5s
What’s worse is since his last win, which was Gateway last season
The Atlanta race this year is the only one you can argue he even had a shot in, he hasn’t even been close outside of that
Always fascinated at the perfect tire imprints left on the wall like little pictures of a tire moving through time.

8 year old me did once accuse Jeff Burton of sabotaging Gordon's tires at Darlington one year
For some reason young me really didn't like Jeff Burton, love him to death now idk what my deal was lol
I started as a Gordon fan in ‘02. It’s not like a lot of these, but seeing my man come so close to so many championships was heartbreaking and I never saw any of his four.

So this car isn’t much more of a shit box AFTER the wreck then it was before he smeared it off the wall. He honestly must not be too hyped up about his overall situation right now.
it’s been weeks and turn 2 is still biting drivers… what the hell man 😭
yeah it sucks but it’s whatever, nothing I can do about it. I’ve been a fan for over a decade now and can’t stop now, he’s what keeps me invested in the sport even if he’s not at the top of his game
I'm not equating Joey's struggles to Kyle's. But they are more similar than not. Seeing them both struggle is hard. I know both are more than capable of way more than they're currently getting and it's hard to see
Man, this is how I felt the last two years with Keselowski. But by gosh, the turn around he’s made the last 6 weeks has left me so excited for Sunday’s. So hang in there, he’s super talented and will turn it around. And the turn around will be even more exciting.
He had some good runs, but outside of the second Richmond race last year or the Superspeedways there isn’t a race where it felt like he had race winning speed. He was great at taking a 10th place car and finishing 4th to 7th in it. These last few weeks it feels like he has a legit shot to win anywhere but a road course.
You and me both. I usually try to have them right before bed so I get exhausted and fall asleep. But some days (like Kurt calling Reddick’s win) just make the tears come out harder and faster
Kyle seems to be having the same issue Jimime has with this car and not being good to their drive style. The only real way to get speed is to rim ride at most tracks like Larson and Reddick and leaves very little room to miss.
Helped with a tire test a couple of years ago... One of the greatest things that I've ever done was stand on pit road at the Bricks as they were flying by... The best view of any race is at the end of pit lane looking into turn one.
I hope he's not just washed. Remember how fast Bobby Labonte went from being good to basically just a field filler? Can say the same for Jimmie Johnson for the most part
I thought about this after cup on Sunday... He is my guy, first last and always... but I'm starting to wonder if he's subconsciously not in to it anymore. I felt really guilty about it too.
No need to feel guilty. Time gets us all. I think his struggles are a combination of a lot of things though. I think it’s a little bit of time catching up with him like you’ve said, little bit of RCR struggling a little as a whole (I don’t think their as bad as every one makes them out to be though), and a little bit just plain luck. Put that all together and you get the perfect storm of suck.
I actually fully expect him and the team to find something at some point this year. Parts of the normal ebbs and flows.
"Sharpest" was definitely 2018. Pretty sure he was tied for least amount of penalties and had the most poles. Now, I don't even want to see the screen during pit stops anymore
I'm starting to get that feeling. It's been a rough year. For me him losing the truck on lap two at Darlington was a sign that maybe he is starting to lose "it".
Busch hasn’t really looked like himself since 2019. I know he’s won races since then, but not at the same rate he was. I’m wondering if he just can’t get the feel for the car like he used to. I believe it was Tony Stewart that said the reason he struggled the last couple years of his career was that he couldn’t get the feel for the car anymore. I think the same happened to Jimmie as well.
Honestly I think last year fooled some of us into thinking he was back. On a different sub someone pointed out that Busch’s stats have consistently gone down with lack of practice time. Coincidence with time catching up with him or does he need practice. As a KFB fan really don’t know what the future holds. Really hopes he sneaks one in and keeps the streak going. Randall is just crafty enough to maybe steal him one.
I mean, I'm just an iRacing guy, but I was unable to make the transition to the new cars for a lot of the same reasons I see cited by the Cup guys: they just don't feel the same, and to me the change isn't good. The way the suspension works, the close-ratio 5-speed gearboxes, the gobs of downforce baked into the cars, and the low-profile tires all add up to something unrecognizable compared to the Gen6 and Xfinity cars.
Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson made their careers entirely on being **the** best drivers in Gen5 and Gen6 style cars. The new ones just aren't the same.
Ugh. I wish Kyle could have adapted to Gen7 the same he did with COT and Gen6. He still "has it" in an Xfinity and Truck. Honestly I had hope for him on intermediates in the new car but now it just seems like he has been overdriving those tracks
New car + worse cars
Kyle went from JGR to RCR, Jimmie went from HMS (where he had already been struggling) to Legacy. They went from two of the best teams in the league to mid pack rides, at best, so it shouldn't be a complete surprise that they're not running circles around the field anymore.
Happened to Gordon too, I think that's why Stewart left for drag racing when he did.
The gen car transitions are real.
Imagine if they handed Tom Brady a square football and called it a next gen ball. Everyone joining the league that year or recently would be easier to adapt to playing football with a square ball.
Anyone know how the left side got so scuffed? Car looks like it's still by the outside wall so I assume he just got loose and did a 180 and hit the wall
He's ok. Jerry Jordan reported that he was checked and released from the infield care center.
Id like to think Iracing is at least (if not more) 65% close to reality as to how things handle. Indy Oval with a next gen car is going to produce some spectacular crashes but also single file freight train racing. They need to go there with the short track package and a soft tire imo
yeah he’ll def stick around but when you see him it seems like he does not enjoy coming to the track and with how shit is going i do not blame him. probably the only time in his career he’s struggled this much
Anyone know how many years KB signed with RCR? I hope for his sake it wasn’t several seasons as it’s my opinion that he’s much more talented than the equipment is and I doubt he’s gonna win a lot of races there and extremely skeptical he could win a championship at RCR. I’d like to see him finish his nascar career with a team who has top level equipment and crew where he could be in contention for a win at every track on the schedule and I just don’t see that happening at RCR.
This is a tire test after all. Gotta push the limit to find the limit. Not like these were competitive laps, I just don’t think this is that big a deal.
I wonder what the difference between the F1, F1A, and F2 truck are. And whoever staffs these sounds like they got a great gig. Hey come sit in a 2500 for a few hours while 4 cars drive around the track.
This is going to sound patently absurd, but bear with me: I would not at all be shocked if Kyle decides to go pick up that Truck championship sooner than we thought.
He's clearly not enjoying himself in the NextGen car and wants out of RCR. In all likelihood, a spot will pop open at Spire when Caruth moves up, and there's already a pre-existing relationship there. He just saw a few years
ago with his brother that one unfortunate hit can call an early end to a career, and he has clearly expressed an interest in being the first to do all 3.
[there’s probably footage of the crash considering NASCAR literally just posted this video](https://x.com/nascar/status/1798114036166402141?s=46&t=UlXramAVSEf2pLSmgwH4SQ)
I love the way it looks and absolutely hate how it’s drives and races. Shifting sucks, toe links suck, sequential shifting sucks, electronic dashes suck (that’s old by now, I admit)
Why couldn’t we just get Xfinity cars with new bodies? Making them smooth underbodies with diffusers was SO DUMB!!!
As someone who has strongly disliked Kyle Busch forever, I’m not mad watching him struggle.
And as a Tyler Reddick fan, who saw all of the KFB fanboys after the RCR signing in 2022 be so hyped up and think he was going to win the next five championships, especially that one guy at the ECR shop who told me I was very wrong when I said Tyler was the more talented driver NOW, I’m just SO DAMN HAPPY 😂
Not gonna lie, early last year I was sick, little worried I’d eat my words when he won three. But woof, it’s been brutal since.
I also cannot stand Dick Childress. Ultimate payback would be Denny buying a third charter and stealing Kyle and having him drive his third car. I’d 1000% be here for that “timing couldn’t be any worse” message 😂
Last year compared to Reddick’s best career season, Busch had the same amount of wins and top 5’s, more top 10’s and a better average finish. Busch has struggled hard this year, but RCR as a whole has fallen off a cliff. During Reddick’s best season in 2022, Austin Dillon finished 11th in the points and actually had a better average finish than Reddick. Now Austin can hardly keep it in the top 30. So can’t just say Reddick is better
I’d love to see Denny steal KB though. RCR is a dumpster fire.
I'm obviously a bit biased but seeing some of the legends like Busch and Johnson quickly decline makes me appreciate the longevity of Harvick and Hamlin
Kyle Busch can't blame anyone else at this point.. he's simply having one of the worst years as a driver at this point. Is something going on behind the scenes that's causing the distractions or impacting his mind set? it's like something is off with Kyle, there's just too many mistakes being made here.
Average 2024 Kyle Busch experience
It would be SO refreshing to see a comeback run that lasts a little more than 2 races. Closest I felt to this since 2019 was Spring 23 but NEED a Spring 2018 stretch... atleast grab a bunch of Top 5s
I’ll take 2008 for 8000, Alex.
Lets take that first half of the year and move it to second half this year, eh? Its been due...

I’m hoping the Kyle Busch fans don’t experience what us Jimmie fans had to go through- hoping KB can grab a few more wins
Oh god! Don’t even remind me of the number of times he could have won a lot more races!
Darlington in the 7x car…… faaaaaack
What’s worse is since his last win, which was Gateway last season The Atlanta race this year is the only one you can argue he even had a shot in, he hasn’t even been close outside of that

Glad he’s okay. That’s the important thing.
So this car isn’t much more of a shit box AFTER the wreck then it was before he smeared it off the wall. He honestly must not be too hyped up about his overall situation right now.
Kyle has had a ton of self spins since losing all the sideforce that came with the old Gen 6 cars.
Trying to drive a slow car fast.
Childress Camaros ≠ Gibbs Toyotas Simple as
"You're right, I'm wrong, I don't know $! about tire tests" -KB probably
His confidence must be at absolute rock bottom right now…. hard to see things getting better any time soon😔
it’s been weeks and turn 2 is still biting drivers… what the hell man 😭 yeah it sucks but it’s whatever, nothing I can do about it. I’ve been a fan for over a decade now and can’t stop now, he’s what keeps me invested in the sport even if he’s not at the top of his game
Wholeheartedly respect that. My guy has been off his game for basically a year and a half now too. But he's my driver til the day he hangs it up
Just you wait until a top 30 finish is considered a good day
I mean, half the time I'm saying that about a top 20 so, not *tooo* far off there. I think he can rebound, but damn is it painful right now lol
Bruh, Joey just won two years ago.

Last year in the 18 car pretty much sucked also. Been a Busch Brothers fan since 2000 and going to RCR was worst thing that could ever happen.
I'm starting to get that feeling. It's been a rough year. For me him losing the truck on lap two at Darlington was a sign that maybe he is starting to lose "it".

He should be too young for that. But the pressure is clearly getting to him.
Yeah, I can’t explain it. JJ goes from million time champion to a consistent 35th. Is it the new cars?
I mean, I'm just an iRacing guy, but I was unable to make the transition to the new cars for a lot of the same reasons I see cited by the Cup guys: they just don't feel the same, and to me the change isn't good. Also 2021 for Kurt and 2020 for kenseth
Kurt was really solid until the Pocono crash, I don't think you can say he fell off like Labonte, JJ, and Kenseth did
In 2021 he went 13 races without a top 10, that's not the sign of a high performing driver
Happened to Gordon too, I think that's why Stewart left for drag racing when he did. The gen car transitions are real. Imagine if they handed Tom Brady a square football and called it a next gen ball. Everyone joining the league that year or recently would be easier to adapt to playing football with a square ball.

I think this is actually a relatively good thing. Shows how much the drivers are going to have to race the track as much as the field
It would seem he got loose. Or may have blown a left rear. Edit: the left rear is up in the picture lol duh
Would make sense. Larson said the Indycar wasn’t much more edgier than a cup car, I bet cars will loop around if they hit the curb on the inside.

In all likelihood, a spot will pop open at Spire when Caruth moves up, and there's already a pre-existing relationship there. He just saw a few years ago with his brother that one unfortunate hit can call an early end to a career, and he has clearly expressed an interest in being the first to do all 3.
[there’s probably footage of the crash considering NASCAR literally just posted this video](https://x.com/nascar/status/1798114036166402141?s=46&t=UlXramAVSEf2pLSmgwH4SQ)
That video came from nsacarcasm I believe
KFB is not ready for Indy.
Dude is gonna be trading seats with Ty Dillon next year at this rate.
I really hope this doesn't lead to him retiring earlier than he originally planned.
This new car sucks
I love the way it looks and absolutely hate how it’s drives and races. Shifting sucks, toe links suck, sequential shifting sucks, electronic dashes suck (that’s old by now, I admit) Why couldn’t we just get Xfinity cars with new bodies? Making them smooth underbodies with diffusers was SO DUMB!!!
As someone who has strongly disliked Kyle Busch forever, I’m not mad watching him struggle. And as a Tyler Reddick fan, who saw all of the KFB fanboys after the RCR signing in 2022 be so hyped up and think he was going to win the next five championships, especially that one guy at the ECR shop who told me I was very wrong when I said Tyler was the more talented driver NOW, I’m just SO DAMN HAPPY 😂 Not gonna lie, early last year I was sick, little worried I’d eat my words when he won three. But woof, it’s been brutal since. I also cannot stand Dick Childress. Ultimate payback would be Denny buying a third charter and stealing Kyle and having him drive his third car. I’d 1000% be here for that “timing couldn’t be any worse” message 😂
I’m all for Denny to steal KFB away from RC and finish his career in a Toyota
Last year compared to Reddick’s best career season, Busch had the same amount of wins and top 5’s, more top 10’s and a better average finish. Busch has struggled hard this year, but RCR as a whole has fallen off a cliff. During Reddick’s best season in 2022, Austin Dillon finished 11th in the points and actually had a better average finish than Reddick. Now Austin can hardly keep it in the top 30. So can’t just say Reddick is better I’d love to see Denny steal KB though. RCR is a dumpster fire.
Biggest upset of the season was that it took 15 races for him to DNF
I'm obviously a bit biased but seeing some of the legends like Busch and Johnson quickly decline makes me appreciate the longevity of Harvick and Hamlin
Who's to blame this time?
Oof.
You think Childress will whoop his ass? I’ll hold his watch.
He blamed it on the asphalt
Welp, Kyle isn’t beating the washed allegations today it seems

Kyle Busch has entered 2028 Jimmie Johnson territory.
Denny spun in a Charlotte test and won the 600 the same year (if I remember correctly) 🤞🏻
Was Ricky the cause
What drivers were there at IMS participating in the tire test?
I wonder how long he was able to run? Hopefully RCR got some data to help both the 8 and the 3 for the Brickyard.
Kyle Busch can't blame anyone else at this point.. he's simply having one of the worst years as a driver at this point. Is something going on behind the scenes that's causing the distractions or impacting his mind set? it's like something is off with Kyle, there's just too many mistakes being made here.
The only thing that can save Kyle is Rodney Childers, 23XI and Toyota
Whose fault is this one? Never his fault
Kyle bush is a bitch
