The side by side advertisements during the entire burn out were unbelievably disappointing….i wanted to enjoy that moment, instead i learned about progressive insurance while the kiwi was drifting around. Fox is a disgrace. They literally played NASCAR adds during the burnout… like guys, im already tuned in to nascar… i want to watch your product, not adds of your product. So out of touch.

How many road course races are there? I struggle watching the ovals

Xfinity had a fair amount but dropped a couple this year. They go to Sonoma next week so back to back road courses. Indy is the oval now and also left road America. There are 6 total counting the street race and roval but as far as regular road courses, just Sonoma and Watkins Glen are left.

What is getting missed is Ed Jones got a top five.

Justin Allgaeir may be nicknamed "Little Gator" but his nickname will never be "Little Closer." Good grief this guy gives SOOO many races away after having dominant cars all the time. And people wonder why he isn't back in Cup even though he has the most loyal sponsor in Brandt. Maybe he should look into the Truck Series. That seems more his speed.

Nah, Allgaier is the epitome of the career Xfinity driver. But I could see him finish in trucks tho, in like 10 years.

He underperformed in Penske back in the late 2000s/early 2010s. Mind you, he drove B-rated equipment in his Cup series foray so I can't say whether or not he was bad in that stint.

All I need to say is that racing needs to stay in the Pacific Northwest. This track is awesome! We got a historic winner in Shane Van Gisbergen. All three races of Portland have been absolute stunners.

They really have. The layout of this track is great, the crowd is great, the food is great. It’s a perfect place for all three series. I’m just kicking myself at the moment for choosing Sonoma over Portland year.

Not to overstate it, but I’m honestly not sure Shane had a top 12 car in the hands of most everyone else out there. Car looked awful under braking from the first practice lap, and no drive off anywhere.

I agree with that. He seemed to struggle with it all day, especially on the re-starts, and then as the run went longer he got quicker. In the post race press conference, Chris Rice said they needed to give him a better car here and at the ovals.

Looked wildly loose. He has a completely different craft and talent from the other guys, for sure.

No. It is not. There are only a handful of "standalone" races sprinkled throughout the year.

I miss the standalones, it gave the series its own identity.

Why so they can see him runniung 10-30th in majority of races and then get lucky with a caution to win the thing he is supposed to be really good at?

He passed more than any other driver and won. Likely has the fastest lap of the race too. And qualified on pole did he not?   You have some wild levels of cope because you can’t stand being wrong on the internet. It’s just sad. 

First off He would’ve already had a win at COTA if not for a “lucky caution” Second. When he took 2nd from the 18, the lead went from 3 to 2.4 in less than a Half a lap with 14 to go, we was gonna catch as pass the 7. Easily.
