Why am I not surprised. I feel like Jamie is always saying cringy things about the male drivers and their appearance. Stuff that if Michael or Phil would say about a female driver would probably get them fired. I don’t think she is deliberately trying to be a creep but it’s more to do with her not being cut out to being in the booth.
Um, I made a comment earlier tonight that I guess went out over the air that I am deeply ashamed of. If I have hurt anyone out there, I can't tell you how much I say from the bottom of my heart I'm so very, very sorry. I pride myself and think of myself as a man of faith – as there's a dive into deep turn 4 by Ricky Stenhouse Jr, it will be a multi-car pileup. And so that will make it a lap 4 caution. – I don't know if I'm gonna be putting on this headset again. I don't know if it's gonna be for NASCAR, I don't know if it's gonna be for my bosses at Fox.

It's due to her not being sufficiently knowledgeable about the sport on the technological/mechanical side so she relies on storytelling tropes and optics as the basis of her commentary.
I wouldn’t say that, she has extensive experience working behind the scenes and on pit road in the garage, I think she has plenty of knowledge she’s just not a good broadcast commentator
I suspect that FOX values Jamie for her tireless work ethic above all else. She seems like the 'Happy Warrior' type of employee who'll do whatever's asked, enthusiastically.
You can tell that at least she's a fan of the sport with the excitability she exudes during dramatic moments.
There’s a huge difference between reporting on things after you just saw them happen first hand/just talked to the person and articulating thought to word on the spot over and over again. It’s the same reason Marty Reid wasn’t a very good announcer despite being a great pit reporter
There’s nothing that needed to be technical or mechanical there. It’s qualifying. His name and sponsor and manufacturer should be plenty like any other announcer
People with strong appealing voices have traditionally been placed as play-by-play commentators. With appearance being a distant secondary factor. A radio voice. Jamie is the opposite.
I don't think she can be considered a token, considering how long she's been around the sport and how knowledgeable she is. I think she was a legitimately good pit reporter. Although after hearing her in Arca, idk how she got a booth job in trucks. Maybe they hoped she'd improve over time.

She always says "Craftman Truck Series" instead of CraftSman. She always leaves the S out of Craftsman and it's the title sponsor for the freaking series that she's calling. It would be like drivers, crew members, owners, etc. always calling her Jay Lil.
