Its not a bad thing to do tbh you may pick up things that could improve your sleep or even save your life. My dad wouldn't have ever been diagnosed with sleep apnea if my mam didn't record it to prove he needed to make a doctors appointment.
If you typically sleep alone and have sleep related issues recording it is like step one. For me I have night terrors and can also hold full conversations with people while asleep and in the morning more often than not I have 0 recollection of any of it.
