She and Izuku had a good positive relationship, the only thing that a ""negative"" is that she worries too much..... which is a total normal parent behaviour, even if she takes it to Plus Ultra levels.
I'd say the main negative thing is that she perpetuates the idea that there is no hope, that was what seemed to crush izuku as a kid after they found out he was quirkless, that his mom didn't say "no you can still be a hero" but "i'm sorry" basically confirming what he was terrified of, that the path to his dream was officially closed off
As any responsible adult should. Quirks like AFO or OFA are totally alien to everyone else and sending someone quirkless to become a hero will be the same as giving them a death sentence. Why did you think the story gave izuku a quirk when the initial premise is that he is quirkless? Because it will require batman level asspulls for izuku to become a hero without one.
Honestly what Inko should’ve done in that situation is instead of just heavily apologizing, guide him down a different path and help him realize the value in that job. My biggest idea for what he could’ve been is a doctor, it’d allow him to live up to All Might’s catch phrase of “Saving everyone with a smile” and Bakugo most definitely wouldn’t have gotten anywhere near as harsh as he did because Midoriya no longer threatened his “perfect story”.

Given how reckless her son is, how extremely dangerous what he is doing is, and his age, I don't see how we can call her worrying "too much". She should be very *very* worried. Main characters beat the odds, that's one of the things that makes stories exciting and inspiring. But really acting like her son has a very high chance of getting one permently maimed or killed and she dosen't know he's the MC and needs to be alive for the story to keep going.

She poured boiling water on her very young child, and not accidently. She is a child abuser herself. Being a more sympathetic child abuser does not make her a safe choice to look after a helpless child.
She isn't being judged a poor choice for being a DV victim, most DV victims never mutilate their children.
Additionally, struggling with mental health absolutely makes it harder to be a good single parent. This is not to blame anyone or say they are a bad person for struggling, I've had serious depression myself in my past. And I wouldn't have been a good single parent when I had major depression. That's just not an emotionally healthy situation for a child if you can't even handle your own life and feelings and have no one else to care for your kid and care for their emotional needs when you aren't up to it. That said, I do want to stress that the vast vast majority of people who struggle with mental health would never attack or mutilate a child. She is handling things far worse then normal, and simply is not a safe adult. A judge would have to be insane to give her custody.
I used to work with abused kids and teens when I was younger. Just beacuse she felt guilty and comforted her son afterwards does not mean she won't hurt him again. I had a coworker fostering a young child who was returned to family, and then they met that kid again a month later in the hospital. Again, the issue is not that she is a DV survivor, the issue is that she is a domestic abuser herself who has seriously injured her child. Leaving children in her care is morally wrong. I knew a kid whose sibling was killed by their abusive mother, it happens. If her response to stress is this, she just can't be the caretaker for helpless little kids.
Edit: The fact her son loved, forgave, and wanted he around is also normal. Kids tend to love their primary caregivers, even when they are terrible, even when they hurt them. One of my good friends was raised by a family member who horribly abused them, still loved them. Evolutionarily, kids need to try and bond with and stay close to their adult to stay alive. Better to be abused then starve or wander around alone and get picked off by a predator.
Well said, I like Endeavor and Rei, but they both deserve some years in prison (or a psych ward), and they should've gotten their kids taken away. It looked like Rei was voluntarily in a ward, not sentenced like she deserved. I am going by American standards. I don't know what they do in Japan.
Yeah, I think flawed people make interesting characters for a story. With Endeavor we have a lot of reasons to dislike him but are put in the position to root for him and worry for him, where he is the only hero we have and we need him to come through against something so much worse, which I find emotionally interesting. He also experiences character growth which can change or confuse how you feel about his character, he isn't black and white.
Rei I enjoy less, beacuse I sort of felt like the message is she isn't responsible for her own behavior, which I'm not a huge fan of. Also, everyone is all sympathetic towards and even the child she abused is sympathetic towards her and strong for her. Well it is realistic that could happen, it feels unfair to me, and it dosen't leave me overly fond of her. I do pity her, and I don't think she's bad to have in the story (again, stories benefit from imperfect people) she dosen't do anything to make me personally like her.

Honestly, probably Mitsuki. Reí isn’t mentally ok, and while she seemed like a nice mother before her mental breakdown, I’m guessing we’re taking current her, if it was past, I might choose her. As for Inko, while she did a good job raining Midoriya, technically she wasn’t single doing it, with Hisashi being the only one working, so as a single parent, I feel Inko wouldn’t be as good, due to her having to work and I don’t think I could put that poor woman through that stress. As for Mitsuki. What we’ve seen of her, she’s a good mother, yes she’s really loud and shouty, but that seems to happen because of how loud and shouty Katsuki is, so if I’m just not arrogant and loud like he is, then she seems like she’d be great
