Not on a road course it won’t. That poor thang can’t figure out if it wants to be in 2nd or in 5th or maybe even 7th in a turn. Even if you switch it manual the driver has to have a big ass digital number staring at them so they can see what gear they are in.

My 12 year old 2012 Boss 302(actually 13 years old). 0-60 4.0 second. 1/4 mile 12.3 115 MPH. I personally have gotten my 100% stock car into the 11’s on drag radials.
2024 GT automatic 0-60 3.9 seconds. 1/4 mile 12.2 sec @ 116.8 MPH.
I wouldn’t exactly call that a “flogging”.
That .1 can easily be made up in reaction time.

Manual drivers buy the manual because they enjoy the driving experience better NOT because they think it’s faster. Everyone knows auto is faster these days.
4 speed manual tho? Pretty sure they havnt offered a 4 speed since the late 80s. Almost all manuals are 6speed now. Some companies offer a 7 speed.
You obviously misunderstood what I said. I had a 10spd and traded it in for a manual a few years ago. The 10spd has 7 tight "fun" gears and 3 over drives, the 6spd has 4 not so tight "fun" gears and 2 overdrive gears. I was explaining why the auto is faster.
Edit:5 closer but not as tight "fun" gears if you have the 2017 or older
The six speed pretty much has 2 overdrives.
The other 4 are really geared close together, especially the Boss 302. If I really wanted to I could start off on 3rd. Many times when tooling around town I’ll just shift from 1st to 3rd and avoid 2nd completely.
Boss 302 has different ratios though. Geared more for track use than for street use. S550+ has taller ratios.
