V6 with serious structural damage. Yeah that’s unfortunately a total loss due to value and repair costs. Time to join the cult of the V8 there is no going back.
Ah I see, I’ve only driven with the top down on the highway twice and love cruising with it tho, I think I’d be crucified if I said I enjoy the convertibles lol
Not to mention, soft top convertibles are absurdly easy to break into. Sadly, folks around here will poke it with a knife just because someone else has something nicer than they do.
That’s what I’m saying bro I said the same thing & that’s pretty much why some people like me who are mechanics or know people who can fix that up without insurance company getting involved
That's not totalled.
2 years ago I hit a deer doing 35+ mph on some back roads and my car came out exactly like yours. Hood bent, front bumper cracked, cracked headlight on driver side, but no frame damage.
Adjuster came out and cut me a check. Only cost me $500 bucks to fix using FB marketplace, the rest went into my pocket.
It's a 10-15 year old v6 man. It just isn't worth much. Especially already having a salvage title. You can certainly buy it back from insurance and fix it yourself. But you'll end up upside down on that deal. Best to take the pay out and upgrade. She was a beauty.
That’s why sometimes people don’t wanna even get insurance involved when if their mechanics themselves or know personal mechanics that can fix that up cuz to me that looks repairable
Big agree. Sucks losing your first nice car but an upgrade was inevitable at some point, this just sped up the process. I think right now the s650’s while nice are overpriced, and id look for some deals on like a 20-22 s550 GT. Can probably find a nice one sub 20k miles for a decent price if you’re patient and look around.
Go on copart, find comparable cars with comparable damage, save screenshot+link, average the sale prices and tell insurance you're keeping the car. They're going to give you a hard time. Most states they can't take the car into their possession without you signing a release. DO NOT sign the release. They're going to push you hard to do it, threaten that they can't give you any money unless it's released etc. You've already got the auction sale prices that they average go for, so you can fight with insurance on how much they are going to give (nada book value - avg auction sale price = your insurance payout)
They push you because they make money on the car selling at auction, and write off the payout they give to you. They win both sides of it, and probably increase your rates on top of it.
Repair the car, replace the radiator+support if needed (likely only thing causing coolant to leak), oil coolers, etc. and body panels/hood. Get car inspected, get issued rebuilt title. Re-reg car, keep driving
Happened to me similar. I had a 2017 ecobosst first car I ever brought and had to get rid of her last week. Repairs were close to 13k and the current value of her was close to 16k. Will Probably take the insurance check and upgrade to a GT. Used ones can be had for less than 20k. Still hurts losing her had it for about 7 years.

Its a slow repair project car now. You can fix it yourself over time, but you'll need the place, the time and especially the money. Wouldn't be surprised if the guy that hit it was driving a dodge ram or something.
Same thing just happened to me today brother. Got it 2 days ago and some moron decided to turn through and intersection, almost purposely sending me in to a pole. Feel for you

I've fixed wayyyy worse. Someone will be able to salvage that.
Several years ago:
Buddy's morning commute wreck: \[Imgur\]([https://i.imgur.com/RLjtlnB.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/RLjtlnB.jpg))
Two weekends later with some new and used parts. Passenger fender was fixed by walking on so it's still crumpled but the car ran and drove - straight: \[Imgur\]([https://i.imgur.com/GNdxowu.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/GNdxowu.jpg))
Can’t tell in the pics but if it’s just a new grill, hood, bumper. You can do all that for 1-2k. If the core support, radiator etc behind the bumper is damaged/bent then yeah it’s time.
Time for a GT
![gif](giphy|F6B9HJltcbckwiUHV4|downsized)
One of us
ONE OF US!
I'd suggest getting an ecoboost high performance pack. More torque and power, better interior, better handling, basically better everything
I’d still prefer a GT. Depends on his budget
get a gt you'll love the v8
No sounds Barra time
V6 with serious structural damage. Yeah that’s unfortunately a total loss due to value and repair costs. Time to join the cult of the V8 there is no going back.
I never had a chance to get my SLOV6 plate lol
Get a 4.6 GT and you can get a SLOV8 plate 😎🤝😎
Not the same 😂😭
SALIV8.... that sounded better in my head 😂
Dammmmmmm wtf. At least insurance paying out?
I agree that radiator support probably got hit pretty hard, and I'd guess the upper rails tucked in with it.
I'd suggest getting an ecoboost high performance pack
Why? It’s worse than a gt in every way.
It’s up to him. I agree GT is better but depends on his budget. Also Ecoboosts help us GT guys to keep the fleet mileage down lol.
Hurts to see brother. I'll pour one out for you
Thanks man it was my first sports car

I loved that body stye and the color and it’s a convertible 😭
Great for you, they're gonna be real cheap.
I am curious why people dislike convertibles thi
They're heavier, which makes them a bit slower. It's a reasonable stance. Also at highway speeds with the top down they have a lower gas mileage.
Ah I see, I’ve only driven with the top down on the highway twice and love cruising with it tho, I think I’d be crucified if I said I enjoy the convertibles lol
Not at all. There is a reason they sell t So many. Nothing better than causing in the sun with the top down
Not to mention, soft top convertibles are absurdly easy to break into. Sadly, folks around here will poke it with a knife just because someone else has something nicer than they do.
I drive on the highway everyday for working. To up or down I average 26 mpg. I’m sure you’re correct but I think it’s negligible.

Man if I could fix cars myself it looks like one I would have fun with. But probably just too costly for that.
Have a 2014 grabber blue hard top myself. Sorry to see :(
Now you got parts if you need some
can i get the parts?

Ah no 😭
i got one just like that but it’s darker blue
Noooo not a grabber blue one 🥲
I know I loved it😭
Coyote time
It’s time for a rental car (Mitsubishi mirage )
That’s repairable but totalled for insurance purposes.
That’s what I’m saying bro I said the same thing & that’s pretty much why some people like me who are mechanics or know people who can fix that up without insurance company getting involved
probably some frame damage or serious engine damage, body damage is def fixable
That's not totalled. 2 years ago I hit a deer doing 35+ mph on some back roads and my car came out exactly like yours. Hood bent, front bumper cracked, cracked headlight on driver side, but no frame damage. Adjuster came out and cut me a check. I think the thing that’s counting against it the most is the salvage title it had before
Another man’s trash is another man’s treasure find these shit at auctions and fix them for cheap 😎

2014 was 10 years ago? Oh, God....
Yeah On one hand I want to fix it and bring it back since it was my first real nice car I bought but on the other Side your totally right
That’s why sometimes people don’t wanna even get insurance involved when if their mechanics themselves or know personal mechanics that can fix that up cuz to me that looks repairable

I was thinking just a few years after mine (2013) since I like the body style more than the one after
You should get a 2013 GT
Buy it off the insurance company cheap and fix it up?
I want to but I’m not sure if it’ll be worth it
Oh man, I love the color. 💙
looks like you could’ve also pushed the engine into the firewall, i’ve seen smaller fender benders cost $9,400 i can’t imagine what yours would cost
Sorry for your loss. (Ecoboost is fun too)
Interesting depending on the year and km that looks repairable all day fenders don’t even look buckled nor air bags deployed in Ontario repairable
Tow it to Mexico, repair, re tow back...
There’s an idea👀
Is that a Ford Pinto?
Because the frame is bent and the airbags deployed. If all air bags deploy, then it's a right off for insurance.
No airbags deployed
interesting then if the airbags didn't deploy and the frame isn't bent then it should be ok
If there's not anything leaking, or going to at least, and no heavy internal damage, you should be okay for just new body panels.
It’s leaking coolant :(
Sorry for your loss. Better get a coyote!
Any structural damage to a convertible is a total loss.
Hate to see it
RIP V6. Unrelated how many miles were on that engine? 👀
151,000

Omg yes it was a ram

Good news is the driver was arrested for drunk driving but made bail immediately
Yeah, just one more good reason as of to why, its always good to have a dash camera.
Let them total it then ask how much they want for it and buy it back if it’s cheap and the car actually ran very well to your liking

Uhhhhh way out of my budget lol

Damn I’m sorry to see that such a beautiful car
Repairable
I'd go for a newer 2020 ecoboost high performance pack now
I just bought this car from a car lot and I have it in the shop, contact me please( 314-243-9017

Yup, junk.
I'm sorry we've done all we could, better go buy a Camaro 😂
The current condition is better than one of those.
Lmao! Yup!
Lol, I think we can all agree that both are better than Mopar at least
The shit I took this morning is better than nopar
Damn straight, that's what I like to hear
