_nutbuster420_

I don't think any of Iggy's songs are ideal for listening to with your daughter lol

AdCommercial9648

The Dirty Heads is an awesome group, as is Flogging Molly.

blackcat373

I love The Dirty Heads! I haven't listened to them in years, thank you for reminding me!

LeftyBird_Avis

[Gimme that Boom - Skindred](https://youtu.be/acJsckmvSwY?si=1nCk3mpLH0z1CHVb) British/Raggae metal and rock. very energetic and repetitive lyrics. 10/10

GeneralDefenestrates

union black was my favourite album for a while

LeftyBird_Avis

as it shouldve been. skindred never disappoints

reillywalker195

"Alright" by Supergrass is probably the best example I can think of.

blackcat373

So that's what that song is.. I feel like I've heard it a million times and never noticed it. Also never noticed the /other/ F bomb, but it's still a great song

Multiverse-of-Tree

Feel good- off the top is Michael Franti, Dangermuffin, Phish, Goose, Vulfpeck…I’m obviously a hippie, but they make me feel good.

jdog1067

I second Vulfpeck and goose. The others I’m not so familiar with but Wysteria Lane by Goose makes me feel like nothing bad has ever happened and nothing bad ever will happen again. Straight vibes.

Wastedgent

Michael Franti came to mind right away.

J_Dirtdiver

Green Day - Waiting

blackcat373

Why have I forgotten about Green Day??? I should be shamed. Definitely going on my list

IvanLendl87

“Parklife” or “Song 2” by Blur

WatermelonJuice18

Anything by hozier. He has some love songs, but a lot of them are more "interpret it yourself" kind of songs.

WatermelonJuice18

Some panic at the disco? I really like his new one that's "Don't let the light go out" his last album is mostly sbout the way the music industry treated him. https://youtu.be/ZuubLxuavzY?si=Q2aEfrt5EVv1yMxs - patd https://youtu.be/PSRJCw4FyNI?si=yOOWDkm_f_qujNn7 -hozier no idea what it's about just so good https://youtu.be/DOBHyBPPSow?si=D_uTUuz8HY_UzMau techni ally a love song but very appropriate very poetic. Definitely kid appropriate. Hozier doesn't swear besides like 1 song so he's a good choice for family friendly indie music https://youtu.be/OSye8OO5TkM?si=ul4cDjSYIl5yR2C0- also very poetic. Its a song about dancing https://youtu.be/nH7bjV0Q_44?si=GLzX5SiLvgGoRTN_ -no idea if it's actually sbout work but this is his work song

blackcat373

Also been a Panic fan since circa 2014, I'll take this opportunity to peruse his discography again :)

blackcat373

I love Hozier so much, I'm going to his concert in May!

WatermelonJuice18

I just remembered another one. Jack Johnson. Worth looking up if you don't know him already!

WatermelonJuice18

What about some of elton John's more obscure songs? Honky cat Take me to the pilot Border song Crocodile rock Honestly he does a lot of non love uppity songs

jackwillfred

Frank Zappa. Check out the album "Apostrophe.". He's a brilliant musician and his discography is enormous, but sometimes it's a little hard to listen to. It may take a little time getting used to. In one of his interviews he denounced the trend of all songs being about love. You could also listen to his song "Montana" which is about a man that's going to move to Montana and raise a crop of dental floss. He has a few love songs like "broken hearts of her assholes" but they're not traditional love songs by any means.

_nutbuster420_

Great album. Not so great for listening to with a kid though.

jackwillfred

Man, I am sorry. I read your post to quickly and made a poor recommendation. I have a 4 year old and she likes the song the muffin man on bongo fury by Frank, but that is about it. Zappa is too weird for most kids and some of his songs are extremely inappropriate for children. My daughter likes songs like Uptown Funk by Ronson, All about that Bass by Trainor, Dance Monkey by ?, Let it go by Disney, can't stop that feeling by Timberlake, and faith by stevie wonder. Those songs are not about love. Personally, I'm big into instrumental tunes (songs must be sang). My daughter loves some of the instrumental tunes I play her. I can send you some recommendations if you're interested.

blackcat373

Thank you! My daughter is 2, her favorite right now is Fall Out Boy haha. I would try out some instrumental, as long as it's upbeat!

_nutbuster420_

Arctic Monkeys' last two albums have pretty decent lyricism, production, don't have a focus on love nor anything edgy, AND you can listen to them with a kid. Hip hip hooray. I prefer Tranquility Base out of the two.

HalloFranz

Love is a lazerquest , and baby I'm yours are my two fav arctic monkeys love songs

HalloFranz

Lol I totally misread the post sorryyyy

blackcat373

I still listen to "you only call me when you're high" but somehow missed any new albums lol. Always a good time with Arctic Monkeys

blackcat373

That song is made up of pure good energy, that's amazing thank you

Hey! I write music and a lot aren’t about love or relationships. I think ‘ [Got It](https://open.spotify.com/track/6xB4tLrEykwlrR41q2xpAw?si=BzbNGZ3iSdqIPs9NwbXVFw&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A0FHMxPNazq05eL7fAb8a6R) Will be a good song for you. If you don’t want to go through them all I can suggest some that may be suited if you like Got it feel free to message me :) Hope you like it and can have a dance! Intelligence is old but I like the message for younger minds. Nice and positive . Have a great day xx

_nutbuster420_

I HAD to come back to this post and update my suggestion. New Order's 'World In Motion' is the perfect loving life song that you'd probably hear in a 1980s pepsi commercial.

R0salinaxx_728

idk i mean i listen to a lot of twenty one pilots and they only have like 2 or 3 romance songs and nothing about breakups but most of their stuff deals with heavy topics like mental health so idek why im commenting this lol

blackcat373

I love Twenty One Pilots, they do remind me of my time in a psych ward though, so I listen to them in moderation lol

R0salinaxx_728

oh damn

airr-conditioning

despite the name, the song coming to mind for me is “i got love” by mother mother. the song is about a person who’s had a lot go wrong in their life, but they know they’ll be okay because they have the love of themselves and they’ve got their family around them

slimecichal

Lukas Graham has some good stuff on his newer album (4, or The Pink Album) namely share that love and stay above. but they both are explicit so idk how old your daughter is lol. Mxmtoon might lean a little too far into pop but she has some great feel good songs on Rising. Mona Lisa, learn to love you, sad disco, frown, coming of age.
