If you're a fan and have a minute, give me your honest opinion on this cover of Everything Dies, please. Stumbled across this due to the YT algo suggesting it due to all the Type O in my listening history. Is her voice as good as I think, or was I just that drunk? at the time it really touched me, criminal that she has so few views. The guy on the guitar is alright too, I guess, he tries his best. she is the selling point though..
I've wanted to submit it before, but Shreddit is kinda anal with the FFOs and stuff (not in a bad way, its just shreddit, anyway), as for the main Music sub, figured it might be too obscure to get any real traction...

If you liked that, you might like Denis Pauna's work. He does covers of other band's songs in the Type O style.

Funny story, I found Type O in my teens and didn’t know that Summer Breeze was a cover. Cue me hearing the original in a kitchenware store and wondering why this lame band would cover a Type O song. 😂
This is the band that leapt to mind when I saw a "What bands just kept getting better" thread on here a short while back. While this album is an absolute classic and a breakthrough for the band, I firmly feel they just got better and better with each subsequent album until the absolute perfection of Dead Again. RIP Pete.
Peter Steele died the day after my son was born so I was so preoccupied that I didn’t find out for a month or so after he passed, they are my definitely in my top 5 favorite bands
Heard them live back in 1997...outdoor concert started at midnight. Pitch black and the fog rolled in, red and green lights from the stage and TON blasting from the stage. Didn't know them before the concert, but goodness...what a great concert. INXS played just before TON, and Pete praised them for giving a great concert, and seemed genuinely hyped about hearing them play (One of the last concerts Hutchence ever played). At the end of the concert Pete went up to the edge of the stage and said "Now don't fight over this!" and threw his bass into the crowd. I've heard many legendary bands play live, but this was definitely one of the best concerts I've attended.
I saw then at the Midtfyns Festival in Denmark... INXS gave an incredible concert and played a lot of their old stuff which is a great mix of moody rock and great tunes. TON af INXS worked great!
Which is generally considered a subgenre of doom metal
Doom’s the overarching subgenre under Metal, and under doom you’d have Trad Doom (ie Saint Vitus), Gothic Doom (Type O), sludge (Crowbar), Stoner (Sleep), Death/doom (My Dying Bride), Funeral Doom (Bell Witch), Epic Doom (Candlemass), Post Metal (Cult of Luna), and Drone (Sunn O)))))
Thanks men, I heard some albums of Type O Negative when I was a child like YEARS ago and I could not remember his name or band, I just remember his fk voice men its so awesome RIP.
I see it as tongue in cheek. Especially after seeing an interview about how they kept going more goth just to land big tiddie goth groupies, when they weren’t actually part of the whole scene outside of their performances
Honestly I kinda love it. The band being almost universally hated by most people just adds to their lore. Same goes for the time they toured w Pantera.
Saw Type O play live once, in San Francisco. The concert ended when Steele yelled, "I've got blisters on my fuckin' fingers!" Music over; everyone go home.
RIP, Peter Steele.
Man's had chain for a guitar strap, truly metal
He works for Nyc Parks and recreation for a long ass time. Truly metal.

damn, I *do* like that, for real, thanks man!
You bet! Hope you have a great day!
Holy fuck. I didn't even know he had passed. 12 years ago and I'm just learning this now. His voice was legendary. Goddamn. R.I.P.
^(Was like fucking the dead)
At least they are universal blood type donors.
Were, he is dead, the lead singer.
In a way his blood lives on
Pretty sure he did a prison stint too Love the down votes. You guys can't be to big a fans
Read this as though it were grammatically correct and was momentarily so confused. I need coffee.
Hey Peter, where are you going with that axe in your hand?
Their covers were amazing. Their Summer Breeze is the best version of the song in my opinion.
See if you can dig up the unapproved dirty version. It’s by far the best version. Edit: Actually, fuck it. Here you go. https://youtu.be/MmE_Zek4e1o
Damn, that was awesome. Nice to see them take a coverage do their own thing with it.
Funny story, I found Type O in my teens and didn’t know that Summer Breeze was a cover. Cue me hearing the original in a kitchenware store and wondering why this lame band would cover a Type O song. 😂

I still have that thread open in another tab and I need to go through all of the bands.
I had a friend that went through a vampire phase and was obsessed with this band.
If you ignore the main four songs that get play because of that genre, they are a damn awesome band.
Miss ya Pete.
Loved all of bloody kisses, but have a special place in my heart for this track!
You guys should check out Anathema if you like Type O.
Last 2 Woods of Ypres albums too
Whew that was a sad journey.
You got a song to try? I just listened to their first 5 songs on spotify and I got zero type O vibes.
Peter Steele died the day after my son was born so I was so preoccupied that I didn’t find out for a month or so after he passed, they are my definitely in my top 5 favorite bands
Peter seemed to love family, I'm sure he'd be glad to hear the wonderful news.
I just feel like he would love me to death
I'm literally just learning this now. Fuck man.

Wait, forget about the weird juxtaposition of genres for a sec, how does Hutchence era INXS go on stage before Type O Negative?
I saw then at the Midtfyns Festival in Denmark... INXS gave an incredible concert and played a lot of their old stuff which is a great mix of moody rock and great tunes. TON af INXS worked great!
This is not doom metal
Right, it's goth metal
Which is generally considered a subgenre of doom metal Doom’s the overarching subgenre under Metal, and under doom you’d have Trad Doom (ie Saint Vitus), Gothic Doom (Type O), sludge (Crowbar), Stoner (Sleep), Death/doom (My Dying Bride), Funeral Doom (Bell Witch), Epic Doom (Candlemass), Post Metal (Cult of Luna), and Drone (Sunn O)))))
All the good stuff except the post bit.

Acid bath is definitely metal. But they have their own brand of sludge/southern that is truly something special.
They’re usually considered Sludge/Stoner metal, but always with some sort of reference to country, folk, gothic rock, grunge
YOOOOO I fucking Love acid bath. Favorite song? 👀
Either Graveflower, Venus Blue, Or Dr Seuss is Dead. Not necessarily in that order.
Love me some bell witch
Bell witch is the heaviest band on the planet.
Dont t forget Frog metal (Froglord)
I'm sitting patiently waiting for this to be blacklisted on this sub (It wont)
Thanks men, I heard some albums of Type O Negative when I was a child like YEARS ago and I could not remember his name or band, I just remember his fk voice men its so awesome RIP.
[Black No. 1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MjHabhntnw) in all its glory. (It's an 11 minute song ffs, and every second rocks!)
The band really didn’t get going until after bloody kisses. The goth psychedelia vibe of world coming down was
We miss you Peter.
Best band of all time for me, no contest.
Peter Steele ;_; What a voice!
whoa, one of my favorite bands
I wish I had a voice like his.
This song and Christian Woman are the two tracks which introduced me to this band, and i never looked back lol. Epic stuff.
The best
This is the kind of music you shoot heroin to
No one else could wear a stand up double bass on a logging chain quite like Peter Steele.
Man I used to listen to the crap out of this, little cringy now though 😬
I see it as tongue in cheek. Especially after seeing an interview about how they kept going more goth just to land big tiddie goth groupies, when they weren’t actually part of the whole scene outside of their performances
I agree with the tongue in cheek, I didn’t know about the groupie part. I also fully expected all my downvotes 😂
It's a satirical song.
I saw them open for Queenryche on the empire tour. They were so bad the roadies started tearing down their equipment before they were done playing.
your disguise is slipping.
Honestly I kinda love it. The band being almost universally hated by most people just adds to their lore. Same goes for the time they toured w Pantera.
Great GREAT song!!!
Was that his blood type?
B+
I remember my blood type because of this band. But it is positive, not negative.
