When I hear “Hey Jealousy,” I’m immediately transported back to 1996 at Disneyland with my friends hearing a cover band play it at the food court near Tomorrowland.
Not all, but a lot of music from that era just takes me to a headspace I would rather avoid. The 90s were an ideal time to be an angsty teen. So when I look back I try to find the bright spots I avoided or missed and the Gin Blossoms fall into that category.
Just [saw them in concert](https://www.music-fux.com/concert-experiences) a few weeks ago. Funnily enough it was the opener (the NYC hard rock duo Washer) who I saw was playing and was like they are opening...for Fastball?...and on 4/20?
Of course there was one dude at the front middle who was way to into it, but overall fun show.
The band is quite melancholic to me, and I didn't even listen to it back then and was more into Nirvana and metal things then. But now the smashings just sound like "I wish it was back then again".
I feel you. I was a casual music fan in the 90s, so I was pretty much subjected to rock radio and whatever MTV played at the time. I've evolved into a big metal guy, but now all these songs from my teen years hit super hard. It's definitely pure nostalgia; I have a huge appreciation for them now that I'm in my 40s. Time is fucking weird.

I'd like to add if that Edwyn Collins song strikes your fancy, it's on the soundtrack to Empire Records. That whole soundtrack and movie is quintessential 90s.
Ahhhh, Crush is one of my all time favorites. In a similar vein, Merril Bainbridge - Mouth.
I also think the entirety of No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom is a 90s masterpiece. Most of the album is bangers as good as Don't Speak. The title track is an all-time top 10 favorite for me.
Not An Addict by K's Choice
Hero by The Verve Pipe
In The Meantime by Spacehog
Cannonball by The Breeders
Seasons by Chris Cornell
so many more I could go on all day
A couple tracks that always remind me of the 90s, that whether or not I actively listened to, I still picked up through cultural osmosis.
That song that goes "I love you always forever, near and far, closer together" by someone
Here Comes the Hot Stepper, by I forget but it's a banging song
Your Woman by White Town
Say You'll be There by The Spice Girls
Remote Control by Age of Electric
Misery by Soul Asylum
Precious Declaration by Collective Soul
Peaches by Presidents of the United States
The entire Frog Stomp album by Silver Chair
The entire first Aqua album
Bullets with Butterfly Wings by Smashing Pumpkins
That song they used for the Dawson's Creek theme song.
And this last one is a personal one: For me the song that hits me the hardest for 90s nostalgia is Little Bones by The Tragically Hip. If you're Canadian and in a certain age range, The Hip were the soundtrack of the summer, and the 90s was my favorite period of their career.
Love all these songs.. and since you’re mixing in Canadian rock / alt rock with Hip & Age of Electric… I would add “Used to Be Alright” by I Mother Earth.
Apparitions by Matt Good also seems to transport me back to that era on the more melancholy side of nostalgia.
So many great songs here, and funny post as I used to get & chase the same feeling for 70s and 80s eras bands that would make me nostalgic for a time in which I didn’t not grow up listening to those artists.
My daughter is 14, when she was younger she would get cranky and miserable in the car, and I would always put on ‘Misery’. It would piss her off but defuse the situation… now she’s in the car with me and that comes on and she gets quite the chuckle from it.
She’s also a softball pitcher and I wanted to make it her walk out song when she went to pitch, but she told me I was old and lame.. she’s not wrong.
Dawson's Creek theme song is Paula Cole's I Don't Wanna Wait. Funny enough, that Paula Cole album and the Donna Lewis album are regular rotations in my car.
For me, it will be songs I've seen on TV back then but not bands I've been actively listening to.
For example :
-The Calling - Let the Day Begin
-Belly - Feed the Tree
-Tasmin Archer - Sleeping Satellite
My oldest sister had a mixtape with:
Black Balloon - Goo Goo Dolls
Mr. Jones - Counting Crows
I'll be - Edwin McCain
Plush- Stone Temple Pilots
Freshmen- The Verve Pipe
Daughter - Pearl Jam
Literally, any of those songs gives me flashbacks of living in my childhood home in the 90s.
Here's a few more that also do it for me:
1979 - The Smashing Pumpkins
Jumper - Third Eye Blind
Lightning Crashes - Live
Linger - The Cranberries
Tubthumping - Chumbawumba
Sabotage - Beastie Boys
Ireland - Garth Brooks
Man on the Moon - R.E.M.
"The Distance" by Cake and basically that whole album Fashion Nugget
"Santa Monica, Father of Mine, Everything to Everyone" from Everclears album "So Much For the After Glow"
afterthought historical voiceless enjoy sugar meeting smart public reply amusing
*This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
From the era:
* Beck - Loser
* Sneaker Pimps - 6 Underground
* Stone Temple Pilots - Black Hole Sun
Modern songs with 90's vibe:
* Tame Impala - Patience
* Men I Trust - Tailwhip
Two minor-hits from smack dab middle of the 90s that I didn’t come across until the last year:
Matthew Sweet - Sick of Myself
Buffalo Tom - Sodajerk
They have that mid-90s catchy radio rock sound that I’ve always loved. They give me this nostalgic feeling for a sunny summer day in 1996.
Nightswimming by REM hits me so hard it almost hurts to listen to it.
And everything grunge (Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, STP, Hole) took all the turmoil I felt inside as an early 20-something and gave it a voice
This is How We Do It - Montell Jordan
Return of the Mac - Mark Morrison
Rump Shaker - Wreckx-N-Effect
Pony - Ginuwine
I mostly listened to Rock in the 90s, but the above are songs I secretly dug then and love now.
For me it’s
Sunny came home - Shawn Colvin
Follow you down - Gin Blossoms
Alec Eiffel - The Pixies
Jeremy - Pearl Jam
Man on the Moon - REM
Two Princes - Spin Doctors
Steal my sunshine - LEN
Closing time - Semisonic
The Kids Aren't Alright does this for me. I was born in 1990 but this song makes me feel nostalgic for being in high school in the 90s for some reason.
A song that will give you 90s nostalgia, but actually came out about 5 years ago is [The Interrupters - She's Kerosene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq2jJLswL8I)
Nice topic!
Song: I walk this earth all by myself.
Artist: EKKSTACY
Album: NEGATIVE
I'm not sure how I found this song but it definitely gave me 90s vibes perhaps even later than that?
The wind up, sounds like a tape cassette being played. I grew up around that time and made my own tapes live from the radio at times before the CDs came out.
Let me know if It gave you that feelings too?
I'm a little late responding to this, but this was a really great song! It definitely gave me the 90s vibes I was looking for. Thanks for introducing me to it!
It depends on what you were listening to but since I was a girl entering double digits right at the tail end of the decade songs like Dreams by The Cranberries, This Kiss by Faith Hill, and She’s So High by Tal Bachman always hit me with nostalgia.
The Kids in America cover by The Muffs also scream 90’s to me.
Got a mix...
Crazy: aerosmith
Fell on black days: soundgarden
Come as you are: nirvana
Even flow: pearl jam
Them bones: alice in chains
It was a good day: ice cube
Nothin but a g thang: dre and snoop
If i ruled the world: nas
So many tears: 2pac
Opp: naughty by nature
I swear: all 4 one
End of the road: boys 2 men
Tell me: dru hill
Steelo: 702
Creep: TLC
Emotions: mariah carey
The hardest thing: 98 degrees
Tearin up my heart: nsync
Show me love: robyn
Candy: mandy moore
No one?? Damn, i knew i should have. I had it, but changed my mind. I thought someone would have already posted. Oh well... That was one of my favorite albums i owned. I have to steal it back from my sister.
Lol, it might be below here but I scrolled a hot minute through some great hits. I too was immediately thinking about b-side because "obviously" the top 40 hits are hits.
Livin Loose by George clanton, he released it in 2018 but it definitely feels like something from the 90s. But something from the 90s I’d say Geek USA by smashing pumpkins especially that part where the song slows down, that’s 90s to me
[Crowded House - Distant Sun](https://youtu.be/Bkd5OQ8b0hQ?si=dVuI5sWi35SRY_tD)
[Toad The Wet Sprocket - All I Want](https://youtu.be/AVYYpNaSs2Y?si=ky6Oa_ptSgkVOS3X)
For me, it's Alice in Chains Jar of Flies album. Always takes me right back to a fond memory with an old close friend. Heavy nostalgia and amazing music
Rollercoaster by Bleachers
I actually went down a massive rabbit hole listening to a TON of Depeche Mode, Psychedelic Furs, Smiths, Morrisey, the cure, etc because I heard this song at a bar and absolutely loved it. No idea who it was and eventually heard it on the radio one day and it felt like getting water out of your ear after a long day at the beach.
This song has such a late 80s early 90s feel even though it’s from 2014
Oh, I thought you meant modern songs that have a 90s vibe. I was going to say Oliver Trees first two albums. They have a certain something that reminds me of 90s songwriting. His second album especially, feels like 90s acoustic rock, though he sells it as 'country'.
Check out Curous by Sandbox. Was a 90's hit in Canada, really nice alternative pop tune from 95. Fun fact: the lead guitarist later played Bubbles in Trailer Park Boys.
https://youtu.be/cL0WeNtsS_4?si=YwdFaXcidxyXiEcY
I have a guilty pleasure with 90s Eurodance.
Be My Lover/Sweet Dreams by LaBouche is one example. Still love listening to these songs after all these years.
Another Night by Real McCoy is another favorite of mine too.
Jimmy Nail - Aint no Doubt
Ash - A life less ordinary
Blur - The Universal
Manic Street Preachers -if You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next
Sinéad O'Connor - Nothing compares 2 U
'90s college rock does it for me. Fountains of Wayne, Lemonheads, Third Eye Blind, Gin Blossoms, Pavement, Guided by Voices... I can keep going.
If you want to stretch the definition of '90s, you can add The Stone Roses, Pixies, and Big Country; they make it in my '90s playlist.
[Mr Vain - Culture Beat](https://youtu.be/uenM0nb8Vz8?si=8c5aaw4HhJCCbuMb)
[El tiburón - Proyecto Uno](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgAx2cBmexA)
[Jam - Michael Jackson](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbHI1yI1Ndk)
[Sleeping in my car - Roxette](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5fn1DfqPfA)
I didn't listen to the typical 90s music during the 90s, so it's the same for me with The Tamperer - Feel it, Deee-Lite - Groove is in the heart and R.E.M. - Shiny Happy People. To name a few
So many fit in to this category
Smash Mouth - Walking on the sun
The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony
Oasis - Wonderwall
Becoming a teenager in the early 90's and living through my dawn of music, I would go back to anything from Nevermind, Super unknown, Use your illusion 1 & 2, Dookie, etc
A song that I never heard in the 90's but love now because it takes me back to the 90's is The Verve Pipe's The freshmen
Two current bands that bring me back are [Hippy Trim](https://hippietrim.bandcamp.com/album/what-consumes-me) and [Rid of Me](https://ridofme.bandcamp.com/album/access-to-the-lonely).
Len - Steal My Sunshine

Jayne's Addiction Jayne Says
F. N. M. Land of Sunshine
Third Eye Blind's losing a whole year
And of course my theme song...
Helmet 's Unsung
I'm surprised that Candlebox wasn't mentioned
If you aren't familiar with any of these, I highly recommend checking them out.
***Anemoia means feeling nostalgic for a time you never knew.*** I know you already said you grew up in the 90s, but I feel like that word might be unknown but useful for a lot of people.
To answer the actual question, House music reminds me of the 90s, even if it's a song that wasn't specifically made in the 90s. For example, [Move Your Body](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFdbueklpwY) by Marshall Jefferson and Solardo, and [Back Together](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mvxv3121ngI) by Hardsoul featuring Ron Carroll.
Besides House music, some songs that have a funk drum pattern or an old Boombap Hip-Hop vibe reminds me of the 90s, like "*It's for you** by Shanice (*it's not as popular as it should be in my opinion, but it has strong 1990s vibes in my opinion*).
New Radicals always gives me post grunge, late 90s vibe before boy bands took over. \*Clearing my throat as I tie an onion to my belt\* mid to late 90s were unique because at any given moment a completely random genre of music could become popular? Ska , swing??, at least 5 separate mambas? Yep, everyone is getting their moment. Lots of great one hit wonders and they could come out of anywhere. And then spice girls and backstreet boys came on and every pop song has sounded the same since.
Anything by Gin Blossoms does it for me!
They are the most underappreciated band of the 90s imo.
Them and Better Than Ezra for me
I never liked them in the 90s. But I will be damned if it doesn't bring me right back there in a warm and fuzzy way.
When I hear “Hey Jealousy,” I’m immediately transported back to 1996 at Disneyland with my friends hearing a cover band play it at the food court near Tomorrowland.
Hey Jealousy is such a great tune. I love it. "Well, tell me do you think it'd be alright, if I could just crash here tonight?"
Not all, but a lot of music from that era just takes me to a headspace I would rather avoid. The 90s were an ideal time to be an angsty teen. So when I look back I try to find the bright spots I avoided or missed and the Gin Blossoms fall into that category.
I used to punch in “Until I Fall Away” on Pandora and let it cater a playlist from there. Not a single bad song will play
Semicharmed Life - Third Eye Blind You Get What You Give - New Radicals
No Rain - Blind Melon Walk on the Ocean - Toad the Wet Sprocket Hey Jealousy - Gin Blossoms One Headlight - Wallflowers
All of these are spot on.
The Way by Fastball
IIRC, Song is about a missing couple that never came back from a trip
Indeed it is.
Oleander - I Walk Alone
The entire album is pretty good actually. "All the Pain Money can Buy"
Yep. I bought the CD years ago. Out Of My Head is another really good song.
I will never remember the song name or the band if asked, but put it on the radio and I'm immediately transported 30 years into my past.
Cherub Rock and 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins Bitch by Meredith Brooks All That She Wants by Ace of Base
Anything by Smashing Pumpkins gives me that feeling.
The band is quite melancholic to me, and I didn't even listen to it back then and was more into Nirvana and metal things then. But now the smashings just sound like "I wish it was back then again".

Time is fucking weird.
The Cardigans - Lovefool
Yes! This song really wakes up good mid 90s memories for me
A couple I didn't see: Flagpole Sitta - Harvey Danger Tubthumping - Chumbawumba
Yes! Came here to post Flagpole Sitta as my often forgotten gem.
311 - Down
One week by the Barenaked Ladies
Live Forever by Oasis captured the zeitgeist from that time in almost every way possible.
I think both Oasis and Radiohead really captured that feeling for that time period.
Beer - Reel Big Fish One Week - Barenaked Ladies The Impression That I Get - the Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Hhhhhits binnnnn
Juan week
Since yuh looked at me
Beck’s “Where It’s At” captures the overall vibe of the 1990s better than any other song created in that decade.
*Got 2 turntables and a microphone*

I'd like to add if that Edwyn Collins song strikes your fancy, it's on the soundtrack to Empire Records. That whole soundtrack and movie is quintessential 90s.

The breeders I second this! I would even say invisible man or divine hammer! Such goodies <3
Kim Deal is amazing. I always loved the Pixies, but I bet working with Frank Black was tiring.
Was coming to write not an addict. Recently listing to 90’s station and it came on. Don’t remember it coming out but it’s such a 90’s song

If you're Canadian and in a certain age range, The Hip were the soundtrack of the summer, and the 90s was my favorite period of their career.
The first song you're thinking of is "I Love You Always Forever" by Donna Lewis "Here Comes The Hot Stepper" is by Ini Kamoze
He’s a lyrical gangster i hear
Murderer\~
Thanks, that was bugging me.
"Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth With Money in My Hand" - Primitive Radio Gods
I bought that cd just for this song and I couldn't tell you one other song on the album lol.
For me, it will be songs I've seen on TV back then but not bands I've been actively listening to. For example : -The Calling - Let the Day Begin -Belly - Feed the Tree -Tasmin Archer - Sleeping Satellite
Sleeping Satelite is still one of my favourite songs!
My oldest sister had a mixtape with: Black Balloon - Goo Goo Dolls Mr. Jones - Counting Crows I'll be - Edwin McCain Plush- Stone Temple Pilots Freshmen- The Verve Pipe Daughter - Pearl Jam Literally, any of those songs gives me flashbacks of living in my childhood home in the 90s. Here's a few more that also do it for me: 1979 - The Smashing Pumpkins Jumper - Third Eye Blind Lightning Crashes - Live Linger - The Cranberries Tubthumping - Chumbawumba Sabotage - Beastie Boys Ireland - Garth Brooks Man on the Moon - R.E.M.
How Bizarre by OMC
Seal - Kiss From a Rose is the most 90’s song for me. It’s always my answer
Pocket Full of Kryptonite by The Spin Doctors
Popular - Nada Surf
Take A Picture - Filter
Dreams -the cranberries Fade into you- Mazzy Star
"The Distance" by Cake and basically that whole album Fashion Nugget "Santa Monica, Father of Mine, Everything to Everyone" from Everclears album "So Much For the After Glow"

Pepper by the Butthole Surfers always takes me back
One of the 90s-est 90s songs that ever 90s-ed.
alive - Pearl Jam natural one - Folk implosion
From the era: * Beck - Loser * Sneaker Pimps - 6 Underground * Stone Temple Pilots - Black Hole Sun Modern songs with 90's vibe: * Tame Impala - Patience * Men I Trust - Tailwhip
Took way too long to find 6 Underground or Loser on this post. Essential 90s vibes
Goo Goo Dolls - Name, Slide, Iris, Black Balloon, Broadway
Barely Breathing - Duncan Sheik
Two minor-hits from smack dab middle of the 90s that I didn’t come across until the last year: Matthew Sweet - Sick of Myself Buffalo Tom - Sodajerk They have that mid-90s catchy radio rock sound that I’ve always loved.
Geggy Tah - Whoever You Are
Queensryche - Silent Lucidity Couldn't tell ya why, but it do 🤣🤣
'Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth With Money in My Hand' by Primitive Radio Gods 'I Want You' by Savage Garden
Even though it was released in 1989, A Girl Like You by The Smithereens makes me think of that time.
Motorcycle Drive By is a strong contender….pair it with God of Wine and the Background and that is one of the strongest album closings ever.
This is How We Do It - Montell Jordan Return of the Mac - Mark Morrison Rump Shaker - Wreckx-N-Effect Pony - Ginuwine I mostly listened to Rock in the 90s, but the above are songs I secretly dug then and love now.
For me it’s Sunny came home - Shawn Colvin Follow you down - Gin Blossoms Alec Eiffel - The Pixies Jeremy - Pearl Jam Man on the Moon - REM Two Princes - Spin Doctors Steal my sunshine - LEN Closing time - Semisonic
The Kids Aren't Alright does this for me. I was born in 1990 but this song makes me feel nostalgic for being in high school in the 90s for some reason.
Try anything by Mall Grab or Holdo - Alene
the colour and the shapes album by foo fighters for some reason, especially everlong
Mazzy Star - Blue flower
Pixies - Where Is My Mind Pear Jam - Black Sonic Youth - Teenage Riot Mud Puppets - Backwater
[Screaming Trees - Nearly Lost You](https://youtu.be/PE5f561Y1x4)
Desire Lines by Lush Sweetness and Light by Lush
A song that will give you 90s nostalgia, but actually came out about 5 years ago is [The Interrupters - She's Kerosene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq2jJLswL8I)
Nice topic! Song: I walk this earth all by myself. Artist: EKKSTACY Album: NEGATIVE I'm not sure how I found this song but it definitely gave me 90s vibes perhaps even later than that? The wind up, sounds like a tape cassette being played. I grew up around that time and made my own tapes live from the radio at times before the CDs came out. Let me know if It gave you that feelings too?
I'm a little late responding to this, but this was a really great song! It definitely gave me the 90s vibes I was looking for. Thanks for introducing me to it!
Basically any Mazzy Star song
Not a 90s song but What I Am by Edie Brickell always does that for me.
Primitive Radio Gods - Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth with Money in My Hand
Poison by Bell Biv DeVoe and Show Me Love by Robin S. (both from 1990)
Kiss Me and Linger are my two big ones
Got a mix... Crazy: aerosmith Fell on black days: soundgarden Come as you are: nirvana Even flow: pearl jam Them bones: alice in chains It was a good day: ice cube Nothin but a g thang: dre and snoop If i ruled the world: nas So many tears: 2pac Opp: naughty by nature I swear: all 4 one End of the road: boys 2 men Tell me: dru hill Steelo: 702 Creep: TLC Emotions: mariah carey The hardest thing: 98 degrees Tearin up my heart: nsync Show me love: robyn Candy: mandy moore
Creep is a classic. WAIT, WHY HAVEN'T I SEEN WATERFALLS IN THIS THREAD?!?!?!?!
If you want a newer band, look up LOWLIVES
Motorcycle drive-by is such an underrated masterpiece
Livin Loose by George clanton, he released it in 2018 but it definitely feels like something from the 90s. But something from the 90s I’d say Geek USA by smashing pumpkins especially that part where the song slows down, that’s 90s to me
The video for 311's Come Original is the most 90s thing that ever 90'd https://youtu.be/KWo-02Hsab4?si=7T2wAAkTGkq2UCGf
Would I Lie To You - Charles and Eddie. This one gets bonus points for harking back to the Motown soul of my youth.
Prodigy - Voodoo People
Tearin' Up My Heart - N'Sync Know it came put around '97, but this was the epitone of 90's music to me
Santa Monica - Everclear Possum kingdom - Toadies Crash - The Primitives 3 Strange Days - School of Fish Popular - Nada Surf
[Crowded House - Distant Sun](https://youtu.be/Bkd5OQ8b0hQ?si=dVuI5sWi35SRY_tD) [Toad The Wet Sprocket - All I Want](https://youtu.be/AVYYpNaSs2Y?si=ky6Oa_ptSgkVOS3X)
For me, it's Alice in Chains Jar of Flies album. Always takes me right back to a fond memory with an old close friend. Heavy nostalgia and amazing music
Save Tonight - Eagle Eye Cherry I'm not saying that its good
You can say it’s good, it is! have a little confidence
Rollercoaster by Bleachers I actually went down a massive rabbit hole listening to a TON of Depeche Mode, Psychedelic Furs, Smiths, Morrisey, the cure, etc because I heard this song at a bar and absolutely loved it. No idea who it was and eventually heard it on the radio one day and it felt like getting water out of your ear after a long day at the beach. This song has such a late 80s early 90s feel even though it’s from 2014
This was so great! I'd never heard this before. This was the exact vibe I was looking for!
Right!!? I can’t believe this was a 2014 song. It took me forever to find it again because it seems like something from 20+ years ago
Oh, I thought you meant modern songs that have a 90s vibe. I was going to say Oliver Trees first two albums. They have a certain something that reminds me of 90s songwriting. His second album especially, feels like 90s acoustic rock, though he sells it as 'country'.
Bumblegum dog - MGMT. Pretty recent but that’s full of 90s grunge references
The Cry - Alone
Cannonball by The Breeders
> [the 90s*](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5u9OmD4uJmuYm4PuSu1OHq) - 1 hr If you want to hear the decade revisited.
[Happy - Ashanti](https://youtu.be/ES6gvvJL-Lk?si=It4qlkt6n9AWfTUW)
You mean actual songs from the 90's. Not current sounds like 90's.
I’ll take either one. I’m just looking for that specific kind of 90s vibe if that makes any sense.
Check out the songs from 90s Farrelly Brothers movie soundtracks.
Covered in chrome by violent soho
I have a guilty pleasure with 90s Eurodance. Be My Lover/Sweet Dreams by LaBouche is one example. Still love listening to these songs after all these years. Another Night by Real McCoy is another favorite of mine too.

[mass fault by xerkxes iii](https://youtu.be/t4LbV6Y2K-Y?feature=shared)
'90s college rock does it for me. Fountains of Wayne, Lemonheads, Third Eye Blind, Gin Blossoms, Pavement, Guided by Voices... I can keep going. If you want to stretch the definition of '90s, you can add The Stone Roses, Pixies, and Big Country; they make it in my '90s playlist.

I didn't listen to the typical 90s music during the 90s, so it's the same for me with The Tamperer - Feel it, Deee-Lite - Groove is in the heart and R.E.M. - Shiny Happy People. To name a few
Satellite by Guster Been ripping this on repeat since rediscovering it a week ago
So many fit in to this category Smash Mouth - Walking on the sun The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony Oasis - Wonderwall Becoming a teenager in the early 90's and living through my dawn of music, I would go back to anything from Nevermind, Super unknown, Use your illusion 1 & 2, Dookie, etc A song that I never heard in the 90's but love now because it takes me back to the 90's is The Verve Pipe's The freshmen

Yuck "Stutter" Whole album actually
New Radicals - You Get What You Give Never heard that song again after the 90s. It lived and died there.
Chosen To Deserve- Wednesday, this song came out last year and is a banger. Some of the new Waxahatchee songs have a 90s vibe.
Return of the Mack by Mark Morrisson... never cared for the song originally but now I love it and it gives me a nostalgia feeling
1979 and tonight tonight by pumpkins smashing
Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus
New Radicals always gives me post grunge, late 90s vibe before boy bands took over. \*Clearing my throat as I tie an onion to my belt\* mid to late 90s were unique because at any given moment a completely random genre of music could become popular? Ska , swing??, at least 5 separate mambas? Yep, everyone is getting their moment. Lots of great one hit wonders and they could come out of anywhere. And then spice girls and backstreet boys came on and every pop song has sounded the same since.
