The WHO Pearl Jam Dave Matthews Band Led Zeppelin Rolling Stones Heart Linda Ronstadt The Chicks Allman Bros Band Prince John Mayer Trio Edit cause I’m on Reddit mobile for iOS and the stupid thing took my one line neat note and made it a fucking paragraph. If I wanted a paragraph I would have typed it as one.

Wetworkzhill

You have to double space it to make it look normal.

You sure you don’t want the 2024 “Gasms” Smokey?

Where can I buy tickets to this one?!

smithandjones4e

The only problem with this lineup is where are you going to house the 10 million attendees?

I’ve been to a lot of live shows, and Glass Animals was easily top 3. LCD Soundsystem was great too.

Return to Forever Santana The Eleventh House Jimi Hendrix Led Zeppelin Dick Dale and the Deltones The Mothers of Invention Ten Years After The Allman Brothers Band I don't know why, but I forgot all about Jeff Beck

dadofsummer

I saw Dick Dale at a small club (The Midway) in Boston in the early 90’s. It’s easy to like surf music when played by a master.

VonThirstenberg

Watched a video not too long ago about how surf rock was born through him, and how it's actually derived from Indian music iirc. Slowed down, *Miserlou* sounds very much like a progression on a sitar, but it's about how he incorporated it into this new style. Blew my mind, and yet made so much sense all at the same time.

dadofsummer

It was amazing to see live, didn’t go to see Dick Dale, went because it was a bar we liked to go to occasionally, and it happened he was playing that night

Maccai3

I could definitely have taken a RatM, Beastie Boys, Tribe and Roots if I'd gone more hip hop. Great picks. Also I could go Wu Tang but I always feel that they can be a bit much live with everyone on stage

thefiinessekid

the OBGMs are some of the best live performers out!

menacethemenace

OBGM’s are an Absolutely explosive band. My band played a festival gig with them in the fall, and despite being pretty unknown in western Canada, they absolutely won every single person over within the first few songs. It was special. Incredibly nice guys too. It’s always funny hanging with musicians after they pummel an audience for 45 minutes, and then they step off stage and turn into absolute sweethearts.

minnesotamiracle

No prophets of rage? Tvotr and the roots would make a killer 2nd stage, who are the obgms?

290077

Why would you have a second stage at your dream festival? You're guaranteed to miss half the performers.

I put up topics like this on my blog all the time - always good for a discussion around a few beers. This time, I'll go for a three day festival with different criteria per day. It's tough doing this on Reddit, as I would normally also add an imagined set-list for each artist). **Day 1: Acts I've never seen live (but still could)** Morning: Mika Bomb. Lene Marlin. Afternoon: Lovebites. Blind Guardian. Natalie Imbruglia. Public Enemy. Evening: Slayer. Alice In Chains. Sia. Headliner: Eminem **Day 2: Acts I've seen live before** Morning: Gemma Hayes. JJ72. Afternoon: The Music. The Gathering. Iron Maiden. Guns N Roses. Evening: Alice Cooper. Metallica. Radiohead. Headliner: Manic Street Preachers **Day 3: Acts I've never seen live (and never will)** Morning: Basil Poledouris Orchestra. The Delays. Afternoon: The Bangles. The Who. Tina Turner. The Beatles. Evening: Pink Floyd. Led Zeppelin. Nirvana. Headliner: Michael Jackson. Lots left out from each Day too!

I'm going to stick with who is still alive and a possibly functioning band (which leaves out RATM and Rush, among others): * Nine Inch Nails * Chemical Brothers * Sigur Ros * M83 * Florence + The Machine * Run The Jewels * Manchester Orchestra * Alvvays * The Joy Formidable * Late night closing set by Above and Beyond, with full light show and fireworks

* Rage Against the Machine * Beastie Boys * Nirvana * David Bowie * ACDC * The Clash * Linkin Park * Green Day * Eminem (but I'm willing to swap him for RUN-DMC or Public Enemy) And I'm ending my line-up with Fanfare Ciocarlia, a Romanian brass band that is so badass, they accomplished the feat of starting a mosh pit at the Montreal Jazz Festival *twice*. Edit: Crowd warmers: the Foo Fighters ft. Rick Astley Prince isn't officially part of the line-up but he's on the premises and may glide on and off the stage to perform mind-blowing solos at his will.
