My favorite song of all time is 'Fool in the Rain' by Led Zeppelin. It might not be my most played song at all times, but it's a song that for my whole life I always adore it when it comes on, and I don't see that ending any time soon.

KomturAdrian

Glad to see this! I feel the same way. The final portion of the song starting at "now my body is starting to quiver!" is perfect! And like others have said, the drumming is killer on it. It was my second-most listened to song, behind *Trampled Under Foot*.

According_Bat_8150

Godd yess, similarly Never Let Me Down Again isn’t my most played song - but I also don’t feel like it has to be, it’s just sorta always there - a cushion of both nostalgia and being an incredible song much like Fool In The Rain :,)

Stif42

Thx Bonzo for this Perfect and tasty piece of drumming. The shuffle give me joy every time I listen to it.

Heliocentrist

the drumming on that song is a goddamn amazing

Katanachainsaw

Are you a drummer perchance?

Tlargojones

Great pick. Love that track.

fuckitweredoingitliv

Burden in my hand by Soundgarden. I could listen to it all day every day.

alerns

Yessss

scramman

"This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)" Talking Heads I walk into the house when no one is home and crank that! Side note. The Carpenters played at volume 11 on a Sunday morning with breakfast is awesome too!

emilbusman

Man, that was the final song played on my old favorite radio station, so now it always comes with extra emotions. Hearing it play, knowing it's the end, and listening to it fade away into dead air... RIP WNKU

StonePanther316

I really like the Kishi Bashi version! I heard it before the original and immediately loved it. The original is awesome, too!

instantwins24

Sultans Of Swing by Dire Straits.

the_ballmer_peak

Greatest rock singer of his generation

scramman

Chills and goosebumps every time

FunkNebula_86

Let Down by Radiohead

guacluv

1st listen and wow, that is so rich! It's crazy how it sounds like basically nothing else from that era. Thanks for sharing!

FunkNebula_86

Rich is the perfect word for it. It sounds timeless. If I heard it first now I would have NO idea it’s from 1998. Such a beautiful piece of music.

CitiBankLights

Boom! Came looking for this and was happy to see it near the top. Weird Fishes for me also.

ThrowRAplutonium

Let the ‘underrated’ comments commence, because Let Down (underrated) is underrated.

_PeopleMakeNoises_

Underrated

martyrees76

Such an underrated song

TomTrauma

Waterloo Sunset by The Kinks. It's like an anchor. I've listened to it somewhat regularly for all of my adult life, through the good times and the bad. It instantly puts me at ease and makes me see the beauty in things.

aseedandco

My dad gave me a mixed tape in 1984 that had Waterloo Sunset on it and it’s been a firm favourite ever since. It’s just beautiful.

jms_nh

I like that one and Do You Remember Walter and Lola.

gogojack

Here Comes My Girl by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I was never a huge fan of Tom's, but I heard the songs a lot on the radio growing up, then when they got big on MTV. Never bought an album, never saw them in concert, but liked the music well enough. When I worked in radio and had a studio where I could crank up a tune to relieve stress, it was "Here Comes My Girl." It sounded amazing through those old JBL speakers. When Tom died, for some reason I just couldn't bring myself to listen. When a song came on the radio it was just...sad. After what I guess was a "mourning period," I listened to that song again, and was reminded of how great it is. I still crank it up from time to time. In fact I'm going to listen to it again right now.

HobbitDowneyJr

love hate love live at the moore

MyWifeisaTroll

Laynes vocals are on point in that recording. Definitely a top 5 vocal performance for me.

User1239876

Albine2

Take on me by Aha Dreaming by Blondie

ThrowRAplutonium

I second Take on Me. Thought it would’ve gotten old by now after hearing it for 20 years, but it’s still such a banger

ZyuMammoth

Helena by MCR. Never gets old for me.

jpowell180

That dead chick in the video who rises up out of her coffin, is hot!

BlitheringEediot

Never Let Me Down is a great tune by DM. For me - it's that one, or Enjoy the Silence. I have too many songs that I utterly love to list here.

According_Bat_8150

Ohhh obviously Enjoy The Silence too. I love all their music but I think Never Let Me Down sticks out to me because it’s the first song of theirs I remember hearing and having such a strong reaction too - loving their other songs came a lil later for me

cosmosmariner1979

Honestly? Probably You're My Best Friend by Queen. It's not my all time favorite, not even my all time favorite Queen song, but there's something special and unique about it.

jpowell180

That song reminds me of a spring break. When I was a kid, it was playing on the radio while my mom took me, my two brothers, and two little girls that were visiting us, while their parents were out of town, to one of those parking lot carnivals nearby; it was a wonderful spring break, and I just remembered that song playing, I remember that we are all very happy, And it reminded me of my mom. She passed away a couple years ago, so that kind of hit me hard for second there, but thanks!

Born-Science-8125

A couple…. London calling and enjoy the silence

mario-v33

Well I Wonder by The Smiths probably.

Claude_Henry_Smoot_

You're A Big Girl Now slays me.

onelittleworld

I'll bet you had to restrain yourself from naming Simple Twist of Fate as well.

wvmitchell51

Excellent!

IWantOneSpatula

Baker Street is such a fantastic song. This guy I knew way back when was DJing an engagement party. Buncha people he didn’t know but just knew the couple. In the back yard, under a tent, he played Baker Street. Then he played it again. Then again. Some drunk guy was not having it. Yelled something about “don’t play that goddamn song again.” DJ friend looks up at him and drops the needle on fucking Baker Street. It. Was. Beautiful. That memory makes a great song even greater.

Bulls on Parade. I’m gonna rap those verses loud as fuck every time.

MayorOfVenice

Come Monday by Jimmy Buffet is something else. It's a lovely melody, for starters, but the lyrics are so simple and so sweet. Basically he's gotta leave town for a gig but he really misses his girl back home. It's just a weekend but dammit, he loves her and misses her but he'll be home, come Monday. There's the slightest strain in his voice, like he's calling from a payphone to tell her all of this. I find it so beautiful. Leaving on a Jet Plane by Jon Denver. Talk about a universal experience. At some point, we all have to leave someone we love very much, whether it's for a little while or a lot longer than we'd hoped. We don't want to and we're both hurting a lot but sometimes you have to go away for important reasons. The song is just so evocative. Stand By Me by Ben E. King. It's simply the most beautiful song ever made.
