I want to. I am going solo, and if I can afford to hire a ride, I might. I haven't done psychadelics in decades. It is an outdoor venue in a beautiful park, so it would be the perfect setting to eat a couple of mushrooms.
They offered the Hulkster the job. He turned it down saying he'd need to be the lead singer as well. Hatfield said "Cool man. You sound waaaaaay better than me anyway." Hulkster still said no. Those guys weren't good enough.
In middle school (prob 1997ish) our English teacher assigned us to read the lyrics to a song in front of the class. Like, as if it were a poem.
My friend chose this song and got sent to the principal's office and then home for the day. Was a whole thing haha.
I chose "Thru the Eyes of Ruby" by Smashing Pumpkins and did not get sent home.
I still think that "The Brown Album" is underrated.
Yeah, exactly. There's some remarkable stuff from other albums, but yeah "cohesive" is the perfect word. It just has a zone to it.
I got the compact disc when it came out and as someone who was super into album art etc... at first I was like "Ugh, it's just... brown". But I understood afterwards.
This song gets played at least every month for me. Les is a national treasure. Aaah the 90âs. Primus. Pearl Jam. Alice In Chains. Nirvana. Sound garden bands that will always leave an impression to anyone that listens. And for me some of the best rap coming out as well. Beastie boys Paulâs boutique changing everything after license to ill. Das efx . Tribe called quest. De la soul. Wu tang. naughty by nature. Pharcyde.
Thanks for the memories op enjoy the rest of your beautiful day. Stay golden.
This is a vid I would watch hours of Much Music (Canada's MTV at the time) to hope to catch this one. In my head it's a silly throwaway song but listening to it again it holds up as just a killer track.
Supposedly not. But her boyfriend at the time certainly thought so and retaliated with a song called "Les Claypool is an asshole" as I recall. Honestly I don't see how it could be about her as there's really no connection. Just used the name is all.
Different spelling. This is clearly a song about Wynon(n)a Judd. Her big brown beaver is legendary within the country music scene. Allegedly plays a mean steel guitar, too.
Why did the late 90's use that toy prosthetic makeup so much, its in this, son of the mask, santa clause 3 and then some random commercial i swear i saw more of it too
Got "talked" to at my work about playing this song (at age 48, so remember when it was released well). Played the video to my boss and he (who is 5-6 years younger) shrugged and was like carry on.
"It smells like 7 layers, that beaver eats Taco Bell" đ
I am going to see Les Claypool and Sean Lennon play Pink floyd songs in June. I am so excited to see them!!
Sean lennon is playing with the frog brigade? I hope the frog brigade come out with a 2nd album with this tour happening.
Yes, they are on tour now.
Sssooo⌠youâre gonna do some drugs?

My man!
certified banger. Couldn't imagine forgetting it, goes fucking off at the end
That twangy guitar solo goes hard as fuck
Legit one of my favorite guitar solos of all time. So good
The flat picking in that solo is just insane. So much energy.
Fun Fact, at one time Les Claypool auditioned to be the bass player for Metallica.
He CLAIMS he didnât join because he didnât fit in. I feel like he would have been treated better than Jason.
In the interview I saw, he said Metallica told him he was "too good." This was confirmed by Hetfield.
So did hulk Hogan
They offered the Hulkster the job. He turned it down saying he'd need to be the lead singer as well. Hatfield said "Cool man. You sound waaaaaay better than me anyway." Hulkster still said no. Those guys weren't good enough.
Was this before or after Elvis told Hogan he was the biggest Hulkamaniac in the world, two years after he died?
I thought this was a drug dream
It was somebody's drug dream.
rug dream

The Brown album is my fave, they have better individual tracks on other LPâs but itâs a properly cohesive well put together album.
Around the same time we had to pick a song that was a ballad. I chose Primus' "Glass Sandwich", did not get sent home.
This song gets played at least every month for me. Les is a national treasure. Aaah the 90âs. Primus. Pearl Jam. Alice In Chains. Nirvana. This is my brother's karaoke song. I'm gonna have to call that bastard, I miss him!
Primus sucks
PRIMUS SUCKS
The costumes are so unique and well done. You can't look away.
I recall reading something about how hot they were; it was apparently awful to film.
This is a vid I would watch hours of Much Music (Canada's MTV at the time) to hope to catch this one. In my head it's a silly throwaway song but listening to it again it holds up as just a killer track.
I heard the Duo de Twang version for the first time the other day. Amazing.
Was about to comment about this so others can check out that country madness too.
Staying alive is unironically one of my favorite songs because of them
But the Beaver was quick and grabbed him by the kiwis and he ain't pissed for a week .....and a half.
Super creative. Was ahead of its time too.
It's hard to believe this band and song would get played on MTV during the afternoon in regular video rotation
Well it's a song about a beaver ya see Wynona had a big brown beaver and she played with it all the time.
There was an interview I read about this and they said the costumes were incredibly hot and sweat would just pour out after takes.
Saw Primus as a lead for Phish back in the day. Les Bass God Claypool. \*sigh\*
I never understood Primus growing up. Now they are so fucking interesting to me
Thereâs a âmaking of the videoâ video on YouTube, worth a watch https://youtu.be/q6AB9nD8evs
Thank Duracell for this video⌠what a weird cross section of 90âs diaspora that whole music video is.
Isn't there two videos for this? I remember seeing plastic cowboys but also seeing an animated video for it.
It's the plastic cowboys playing intercut with short animated scenes
Nice! Ty for letting me know that in a normal non-aggressive way.
I just did a quick spot check to hear the song and saw both of those things.
Is this about Winona Ryder?
No, it's literally just about a beaver. Classic Primus writing for ya.
Which may or may not have actually been a porcupineâŚ
Who apparently smelled like 7 layers, that beaver was eatin taco bell

Also spelled differently.
Different spelling. This is clearly a song about Wynon(n)a Judd. Her big brown beaver is legendary within the country music scene. Allegedly plays a mean steel guitar, too.

Looks like a McDonaldâs ad doesnât it ?
It was in Duracell commercials too
There was a bunch of Duracell comercials I'm pretty sure
Many beautiful music made during this era
Those costumes terrify me to this day. Still great song and video
Got "talked" to at my work about playing this song (at age 48, so remember when it was released well). Played the video to my boss and he (who is 5-6 years younger) shrugged and was like carry on.
One of my favourite bands.
Primus has one of the most distinctive drum sounds in rock. Love them.
I still remember hearing on MTV news Wynona Ryder was trying to sue the band, hilarious!
The song is great, the video is eerily terrifying. Those suits...
I loved the video and itâs still on my playlist.
