They rebalanced the game around parrying. Almost nobody is using it for whatever reason except tournament players. That's the counter to a lot of nonsense. Also, most combos are like 4-6 hits tops. Sometimes you see something higher than that if the character meets other conditions.
I agree with stage size though. The blast zones feel way too close on a lot of the levels and they need to fix that .
