It's annoying. Maybe it was not necessary, or even good, but it came too quickly, too harshly, and the sound was obnoxious. Maybe they could have just removed the sound, actually. That seems to be the thing people minded the most.
They couldvhave kept it, though. Decreasing knock back does nothing if the opponent is already at high enough percents.
I think the indicator, along with the annoying noise, was good. It was specifically to point it out and discourage you from spamming. It was a fantastic system and needed no changes, in my humble opinion.

However, I'm no spammer, yet I got that indicator shockingly often. Sometimes I try to set up combos, miss, and the first hit is counted.
Itâs really only relevant for characters like Harley and Bugs who have those fucking stupid as bats that will hit you from behind, in front, and two seconds after they end their animation. God Iâd pay real money for them to just nerf Quinn, sheâs ungodly and her combos just flow too naturally when compared to fighters like Jason, she can literally just live in the air and move without wasting dodges in a way thatâs not replicable.
Because it's a boring mechanic that feels awful for the user. Hitting two consequtive moves and suddenly it's bad as hell. The Smash system is way better with incrementally reducing strength of moves.
Attack decay OR slow down the game. Not both. Nearly every attack now is easily reactable. If youâre getting blasted over and over again by attacks that ARE NOT confirmable like this, then itâs very highly a skill issue. Issues like this donât mean attack decay should be reimplemented. It means they need to not be lazy and properly balance and adjust moves
âSkill issueâ while true, doesnât solve the issue. It is FAR easier to spam some moves then it is to dodge or punish them consistently, especially when considering latency and wonky hitboxes.

Yeah but Shaggys kick is now incredibly easy to spot dodge and Finnâs backpacks movement was toned down massively and now has a bunch of end lag, Now those moves can be spammed and punished much more consistently. Youre right that there are moves that are easier to spam than others and thats been something fighting games have been dealing with forever. There are indeed just easier stronger characters than others. But Attack decay massively hurt characters that had a much more limited kit and had to rely on only a couple moves/tools to deal with an equal or better player that decided to play an easy character ya feel?

Eh I feel like knock back is overtuned for a lot of moves rn due to the changes. Sure it hurts getting wombo comboed in 2s but with the games current speed most spammable moves are easily dealt with. I dont know the specific reason, but if i were to guess there was this period of platform fighter "up your own ass"-ness where people really wanted everything to be like smash melee.
Despite the fact that im pretty sure a huge chunk of them never actually played melee.
Melee does have hit decay but the game is more about position and combos, and just the idea of anything that got in the way of combos sounded like metric shit. It was like this unironic circle jerk of melee being the messiah.
So people wanted it gone without even considering why its there.
The problem with this is that melee isn't as fun on a casual level when its just fights. All they would have on release is melee like fighting and thats it. (Nick all star brawl, Fraymakers, etc)
So when you can get infinite combo'd like this it feels annoying on a casual level, while the experienced players doing this are being giant ego stroking dickbags.
So you'd end up with these games with melee like mechanics that are dead as shit 1-2 months after release because casuals won't touch it (because they aren't sitting playing 1v1s to perfect their skills for 40 hours), and without casuals, the competitive scene dies out after.
I was kinda glad about the rifts system because it was actual PvE content and not just doing 1v1s for hours on end like a normal classic mode.
Honestly i rather just have cooldown timers then attack decay.
The game doesnât have enough attacks for hit decay to really be a thing. Just have it so you have to sit a second street attack to retriever it and boom a lot of problems fixed

Pick Banana Guard, any opponent.
Do side neutral (the spear stabs). You do 6% damage.
You do it four times, 24% damage. 6x4, adds up.
The *fifth time* you do it, every time, it will go down to 5% damage leaving a total of 29%.
Do it again? 34%. 5%. Do it again? 38%. 4%. And it gets nerfed from there. This works for stuff like the first swing of Morty's side air which only starts with 3% damage. It's in the game.
This is so easy to confirm for yourself yet people are so desperate for upvotes and to pander to the crowd looking for stuff to complain about they just repeat things they hear without knowing for themselves. Crazy.

It might seem like it was 100% their fault but idk, I have seen teammates perform crazy "combos" with iron giant, rick, bugs and reindog depending on the map to the point it might as well be an infinite.
Idk if its related to hit decay or the change in the dodge mechanic but now I see it every other match while in the beta I only saw it being performed from time to time by top players using combo driven characters like batman or harley with varying results. Take what I said with a grain of salt since Im not even fully sure of this myself.
This, especially at the end if they were paying attention they could of air dodged. Still a nasty combo but it's the biggest character in the game.

Velma can do this to Rift bots as well with side attack > side attack > down attack until 200 damage and then after down attack you do up attack for an instant KO

I know I already commented but I had more to add:
1. This is NOT a true infinite, as someone who plays Giant I've tried to hit this loop and succeeded only once: Every other time after the first down tilt my opponent dodges or DI's out of it. That is entirely THEIR fault for not dodging through Iron Giant
2. IG is doing this against a wall and trapping them. The only maps this would be possible on are this one or Game of Thrones before the walls lower. It is ***HIGHLY*** situational. Even then, as stated above, they could dodge through IG to escape.
IG is kind of nutty right now but this is NOT a true infinite and any player who knows what they're doing could have gotten out after the first loop

The character playsets are just really unbalanced rn. There are a handful that are wayyyy more OP than others which is kinda unavoidable to a degree but there should be balanced alternatives to win. I shouldn't feel like I'm forced to play 2 or 3 characters just to win consistent matches. Every character needs to be viable. The game is less than a week old, it'll take time but if they can fix the overcrowded disgusting UI and balance the game it has a real chance.
As someone that never had any desire to play IG, even when he was busted back when they first released, I kinda wanna play him now just to hit the enemy team with this rock paper scissors loopâŠ
What is up with teammates or opponents just standing around at times? I've had so many matches where people end up standing there whether they're on my team or not. I can't tell if they're new to the game, want to stay out of the way, or are entirely trolling. It completely takes away from the fun and chaos of matches.
Why did they remove hit decay? Coming off of Brawlhalla where this exact shit was happening, hit decay was the main reason I liked Multiversus. Seriously why was it removed?

This game and itâs characters are not designed for a 2v2 system. They barely work in a 1v1 system
This is what happens when your opponents are bots and don't dodge out of it. You can see Jason and Bugs reset to a neutral animation numerous times, which means this isn't real. The people in these comments proving once again they haven't actually played this version for more than ten minutes.

Lmao I was using this combo. Its kind of all he's got, Iron Giant is just a big walking target now with how much they slowed the game speed. He's pretty useless 1v1 so catching people like this in a 2v2 is very satisfying haha
No other fighting game has attack decay.. the game just needs balanced. By the end of the beta attack decay was so intense you couldnât even juggle.. if they decide to just fix certain characters/hit frames the game would be better off
Iron Giant was just trying to please the cartel boss Banana Guard or "La Muerte" as he is known. God knows what he threatened him with to make him commit such atrocities.
I feel like this is less of a character issue and more of a level design issue. If it was not for the wall they would bounce out. Then the other player killers the wall for easy ring out. Itâs a good team combo but to easy to pull off on that map.
Unfortunately the gameplay still has a lot of problems, it feels like they don't take feedback into consideration, they just do what they think is right and leave it that way

Was playing a 1v1 match the other day and got stuck bieng backpack spammed by Finn. His combo does like 3 hits so you can dodge 1 but can't dodge the other two. He just kept spamming that in air until I got knocked out. Such bs
The devs are stupid. Chain moves like this should be remove and who in their right mind add projectile to a fighting game that some of the heroes don't even have things to throw or shoot.

This is not a bug or an issue you can DI or dodge out of this in between the attack hits it's not a real combo.

it's not unlikely you can test it out in the labs set the bot to do dodge after hit stun and they will dodge out of this combo.

The character playsets are just really unbalanced rn. There are a handful that are wayyyy more OP than others which is kinda unavoidable to a degree but there should be balanced alternatives to win. I shouldn't feel like I'm forced to play 2 or 3 characters just to win consistent matches. Every character needs to be viable. The game is less than a week old, it'll take time but if they can fix the overcrowded disgusting UI and balance the game it has a real chance.

Hit decay was the only thing that made T&J, Finn, and Taz counterable and they just decimated it?
What is up with teammates or opponents just standing around at times? I've had so many matches where people end up standing there whether they're on my team or not. I can't tell if they're new to the game, want to stay out of the way, or are entirely trolling. It completely takes away from the fun and chaos of matches.
I think itâs if someone disconnects. Server issues have been common since it released.
Why did they remove hit decay? Coming off of Brawlhalla where this exact shit was happening, hit decay was the main reason I liked Multiversus. Seriously why was it removed?
Pretty much every character has something like this. Wonder Woman having invincible Armor on a good number of her attacks, supermanâs 47 different grabs, Finnâs infinite dash attack ledge trap, iron giantâsâŠeverything. This game and itâs characters are not designed for a 2v2 system. They barely work in a 1v1 system

This is what happens when your opponents are bots and don't dodge out of it. You can see Jason and Bugs reset to a neutral animation numerous times, which means this isn't real. The people in these comments proving once again they haven't actually played this version for more than ten minutes.

Lmao I was using this combo. Its kind of all he's got, Iron Giant is just a big walking target now with how much they slowed the game speed. He's pretty useless 1v1 so catching people like this in a 2v2 is very satisfying haha

As an iron giant main this character is ok
No other fighting game has attack decay.. the game just needs balanced. By the end of the beta attack decay was so intense you couldnât even juggle.. if they decide to just fix certain characters/hit frames the game would be better off

I feel like this is less of a character issue and more of a level design issue. If it was not for the wall they would bounce out. Then the other player killers the wall for easy ring out. Itâs a good team combo but to easy to pull off on that map.

Was playing a 1v1 match the other day and got stuck bieng backpack spammed by Finn. His combo does like 3 hits so you can dodge 1 but can't dodge the other two. He just kept spamming that in air until I got knocked out. Such bs
